Under rating threshold (show) Has any one else noticed that on the hose units sometimes the hose line is really short and others is a good usable length? Also RedHawk have you thought about adding levels where you can edit your team? honestly I have noticed a few levels where some units where of no use or just a hindrance.

the length of the hose is mostly consistent, but if you swipe you mouse really fast, you can extend the hose length slightly (hack). I'd love to incorporate a team building stage before loading the map, to select which units you'd like to use, however all these maps are balanced to score 1-3stars based on the units preselected. If users can select their own, then I'd need a new way to calculate score. I thought perhaps introducing virtual dollars to pay for different units, but that's a whole lot of programming! Upgradable units is something else I'd like to add in the future. However, before any of that, I'm looking to add new units, Bulldozers, improved waterbomber (maybe a fire-retardant bomber), water refill trucks, 4x4 ATVs and fire boats. Maybe if you get 3 stars, open the level up to place your own fire and wind direction for replayability. I get to put about an hour or two a day on this game after my day job, so it's going to take a while :) Thanks for your feedback!

Under rating threshold (show) More news; the cursed cursor freed itself. The chopper seems to be load with a "cut" team, therefore cannot load water. How to drop them ? Maybe I should RTFM !

hold SHIFT while drawing the helicopter's linePath to auto-drop the ground crew. The helicopter doesn't pick up water in the pro version.. at least not yet.

Under rating threshold (show) Hi Jason Still on the pro game. Managed to create a fire and worked it with the scoopers. Never get the chopper to load water. And encountered a couple bugs. Hard to get hold of the planes once they left the screen. At some point both planes left and my pointer get stuck in "W" cross-air mode. Could not not anything.

Thanks for finding that bug, I'll put that on my bug squashing list. Once they leave the screen, there's a small tab showing their entry location. On the unit's panel, you'll see a counter, like 2:00 or something. If you click on that counter, it'll start the count-down before the plane will return with water. If you click the counter a second time, it'll return the plane immediately. This functionality is designed to handle off screen pickup times.

Under rating threshold (show) Jason, you should talk your client into releasing the pro version as a Social Network tool. Use it for awareness, found raising, whatever. The casual gaming version is great, the hard core version would be a blast too.

Would love to build a Social Network around this game, it's actually phase 3 in our master plan to take over the world! To use it as a educational game, bring awareness to kids on wildland firefighting. One day, I'm hoping I can take FireJumpers from hobby to working on it full time.

Thanks, Pro version is more a training tool than a game. As for the fire, in step 2, you need to draw your own fire. There's a button you need to toggle to be able to draw the fire. As for the bombers scooping water, all you need to do is draw your path over deep water, the bomber will auto-scoop the water. You'll see a series of increasingly larger circles showing the scoop percentage to fill up. Once full of water, you can then draw a line over the fire. At this point, you'll see 3 bright circles showing the "dropzone" for the water drop. You'll also notice a number of dim circles which shows other potential dropzones. You can update the location of the dropzone by clicking on the actual linepath. A bit more complicated than the game, but makes sense once you get use to it! :)

lol, sorta. The light blue water is shallow water, so I'm thinking you are still touching the bottom. However the deep water (dark blue) is different, ground units' speed on deep water is I think 0.5% of original speed. Basically, you are swimming with a big chainsaw on your back. Given enough time, you can cross deep water, but that's why you have a helicopter to transport units :)

check this out.. it's a training simulator designed for our Canadian government. Not so much a game.. more complex. However it's got multiplayer. hose teams need to connect to the shallow waters or firehydrants. Shallow water is the light blue water. The dark blue water is for helicopter water scooping. :)

Under rating threshold (show) Hi Jason Thanks for the response. you R right chain order will require code rehaul and may unbalance the gameplay. not worth the trouble. A couple more bugs: - In Chrome, when opening a map, the game is sometimes not responsive, not even showing the landscape, only the plane icon. I have to open a secondary tab and (alt-T) close it. Then the game is in Pause mode and I can start it. seems to be a "Focus" issue. - just arrived at the Orlando map and its shown as 3-star completed, and all the following one too. - Sometimes it;s hard to see remaining chards under a hose unit and you move it away before the fire is totally off. Should be able to see when a hose unit is /is not on a fire Great Game. Took a while to really adopt it, but it worth it !

Under rating threshold (show) Hello. Good game, deserves fine tuning to get to the very good game level ! I have an issue with units sent to maps' top edge or bottom corners. There's not way to control them, cause the orders buttons are out of reach, or the unit is under a game control (speed of menu) Bugged me in Central Park and 4th of July. Another GREAT improvement would be to "chain" orders to chopper (pick unit, drop there, pick water, drop here...) like in restaurant-waiter games. Hose units should be able to roll back to previous "nodes" BTW is there a way to have hose units work as cutters ? Anyway: Good Job !

yes, the unit menu isn't perfect, it's on the list of todos, just such a large list at the moment. Chain orders is a great idea, just not sure how to implement it into the game without over complicating things. It's already quite complicated as you know :) Hose team can reverse, to stop any unit, just click on it. That'll stop any action in place. Units can't swap their tools, hose team has to carry a lot, and aren't likely to also carry chainsaws too. Besides, it's more challenging with limited units. Thanks for the great comments. Will look into chain commands, but I'm not sure how to simply make that work.

I had taken it down a few months ago due to a weird bug where after a successful level, it wouldn't unlock the next level. However, this weekend (Sep6-8th), I'm adding it to the US App Store as a request by another user. If you're in the US also, this is the time as I'm removing it again on Sunday night. As an Easter Egg, you can unlock all levels by clicking on the version # at the top left on the splash screen.

Tout d'abord, transport de l'équipe coupe avec l'hélicoptère à l'angle sud-ouest de l'incendie, à proximité de la population civile et les arbres denses. Vous avez l'équipe de coupe coupé le long de cette longue zone d'herbe mince juste au-dessus des arbres denses vers le nord jusqu'à la route, beaucoup plus rapide coupe l'herbe de buissons ou des arbres. Ensuite, utilisez l'hélicoptère soit bombe d'eau de la partie nord de l'incendie ou de sauver les civils dans cette même zone. Alors l'hélicoptère ramasser l'équipe de tuyau et le transporter vers le sud de l'incendie, à contenir l'incendie d'aller plus loin au sud. À ce stade, le feu devrait être contenue assez pour lutter contre les incendies sur place. Rappelez-vous, arbres denses prennent plus de temps à brûler, et il est difficile d'éteindre avec de l'eau. Essayez d'utiliser votre hélicoptère à l'herbe à la bombe de l'eau ou des buissons, mais il faut éviter les arbres que c'est seulement 50% efficace.

Hawaii is a tough one, it introduces the concept of using terrain to your advantage. Have the helicopter transport in the ground units to contain the top and bottom fires, pushing the head of the fire between the two rivers. The bomber timer should complete just as the fire reaches the narrowest point between the rivers, which is where you should have the bomber drop its load. That should get you 3 stars :)

We have built a pro version of the game with those features, however it's not open to the public. It's mainly geared for real wildfire agencies for training purposes. We're also working on making this multiplayer, which may end up as an update for the game, but we're still figuring out the strategy. Thanks for your review, much appreciated!

thanks for the 5 stars! As much as I'd like to integrate the game into the Kongregate API, I simply don't have time. That being said, now that I'm done building FireJumpers Pro for our government as a training tool, I'll be re-focusing on the game with new levels and new units :)

We're planning to do more dev work on the game soon, however we've been concentrating on building a pro version of FireJumpers over the last few months. It has a custom scenario editor, improved Tankers, aircraft altitude, on-screen and off-screen water pickups, dual screen for operator/trainee view points, and the list goes on. Working on a promo video and documentation on our redbloxgames.com site, should be there soon enough. :)

Under rating threshold (show) Just finished the newest version and must say it's very well done with the updates. I found tour 1 to be more difficult vs what it used to be before i.e. less hosers in some maps, down from 2 to just 1. Hope you make more maps or if that's not in the plans then offer us the option to customize/build our own maps and upload to the game to share for others sort of like what creeper world is doing. Also, hosers seem very weak now compared to what they used to be, almost pointless in that they barely hold the line and are used more to stall the fire not to put it out. The heli was always used to finish the job

Thanks for the input, we actually made the hosers stronger, but apparently, not strong enough. We've just recently built a pro version of FireJumpers for our government's wildfire agency and we've learned a lot more about how they handle things. One thing they also said was that only in rare cases can they not hold the line, so we'll be improving all their skills on the next update.

Second person who mentioned that.. strange. I use Flash cookies to hold the data, so it should keep the progress. All I can think of is if you cleared your cache that may lose data.

game uses flash cookies.. if you cleared your cache, you'll lose progress. However, I added an easter egg on the splash screen that unlocks all levels. Click on the version number at top left corner of the screen and all levels unlock.

Start by transporting the Cut Team via Helicopter and drop him off in the south river (closest to the fire as possible). Start cutting south towards the road (roads are natural firebreaks). Pick up civilian and bring him back and pick up Hose Team. Drop Hose Team in north river. Then use helicopter to water bomb northern edge. With a little luck, you'll be able to contain the edges, while keeping the head of the fire between the northern and southern rivers. The waterbomber timer should activate just in time to allow you to hit the head of the fire from river to river. Should give you 3 stars :)

Under rating threshold (show) cool i could only complete a few levels so far but will listen carefuly to the music :) btw for the other guys note about hard to select units when close together, how about using a feature where you press and hold down "z" to zoom where the mouse cursor is? theres probably some free module you can use which zooms the area around the mouse cursor, a bit like when you rightclick Zoom in, zoom out, but more focussed on that mouse cursor? :)

got the music done by a fellow in the UK, great guy! If you listen carefully, you'll notice that the music is adaptive, so the volume of different tracks become louder based on the number of active units! :D

I'm assuming you mean Malibu. Transport the hosers to the far hydrant with the helicopter. While the helicopter waterbombs the south-east blaze, have the hosers run straight towards the head of the fire. Run past the dense trees and spray on as much grasslands as possible. Grass is much easier to extinguish with water. Once the whole left side is put out, concentrate on the final north front. Should get you 3 stars. :)

Thanks for your input. There's 3 ways the hose team can suddenly stop spraying. First is when the fire burns the hose, he'll turn grey and stop spraying. Second is if the fire touches the unit, the unit will turn red and stop spraying. Last way is if you tap the hose team while he's stopped, this will "unhook" from the water source, he'll turn white and stop spraying. Note however that if the hoser is moving while spraying, the unit will stop moving only and continue spraying water. It's a bit tricky I know, and we're working on a different solution to help manage unit actions and overlapping units. I'm open to any suggestions :)

Under rating threshold (show) I give up on this game. Every time you update to fix one problem, two more show up. First it was level 15 not stopping. Then it was Chrome users data not saving, not its the helicopter not refilling after it flies back to the water, and the hose crews walking around the hydrants and not actually connecting to them. Nice idea, but you're not ready for primetime

Don't give up yet.. I got a very good version for you this morning! It's just one guy building it, that's me :) This version 1.1.4 (see top left corner on splash screen) to make sure you have the right version. You may need to give it time or clear your cache to see the update. Anyway, as an mini easter egg in the game.. click on the version number at the top to unlock all levels :)

Under rating threshold (show) Pretty nice and unique game! I like the idea very much! :) A few suggestions: have a scenario-specific background noise like shores with crispy fire cracking. Oh, and if I could send out orders to my units in pause mode that would be awesome. Will definitely look at any successor!

Under rating threshold (show) I think there needs to be a score adjustment for mission 2.4. The high level of buildings near the start with the explosives involved cause you to drop sharply before any chance of containment.

Under rating threshold (show) this game is incredibly good, but it seems it does not safe - everytime I reload it, my savegame is gone and i have to replay all levels. does anyone else have this problem? i dont have it with other games...

It would appear that there's a conflict with Chrome. I'm having the same issue.. I'll look into it. UPDATE: Chrome seems to be working again.. at least for me. I'm not sure why it's not holding your data, still looking into it.
