The AI has patterns it falls back on, I've noticed. If you both diminish each others numbers enough, you can figure out these patterns and, even if it might put itself in danger, the computer will stick to these patterns. Extremely easy way to beat it is to just shift a few of your pieces back and forth and figure out what its pattern is for the match.

this is a really nice game. there's no luck involved, and the different piece combinations keep it fresh. I long to play this against a human. if you made a pvp server, I'd be on it for hours at a time.

Really really fun, but its kinda dumb. Each difficulty feels like the same game except with extra annoying, like how from easy-medium you cant click the enemy to see where they can move, that doesnt add difficulty, that just adds annoyance as I have to calculate out where they can move, instead of just clicking a button. Not any harder, just more annoying, 3/5

Mhm.. needs a better AI. Much too easy, 4/5. Fairly fun, not too much of a challenge but enough to be engaging, nice concept. Would definitely recommend adding another difficulty level, the game has quite a bit off potential, just needs a better AI.

Fun use of about an hour to complete all three difficulties. I'd love to see a multiplayer aspect in future versions or at least a stronger AI because I think the game itself has a lot of potential but is being brought down by the limited challenges. It would also be cool to have players make custom setups for matches that could put you at a disadvantage or could even be a puzzle to solve.

Have been playing chess my entire life, and battle chess for well never mind. This is a brilliant twist on a classic. It is a very good start, can not wait until you release a version where I can play against a person, and have the ability to place my own pieces. Well Done, will be watching you in the future. 5/5

This game shows a great deal of promise. There could be a ton of other pieces and rules accompanying each. That would be awesome. Also, free beer would make it more cool.

Even if I hated this game, I'd give it a 5 just because it's a new concept and not some duplicate with a small change. Too bad I can't rate this a 10.

makes me want to get back into chess.my problem is i usually dont lokk at all the repercusions of situations. it is nicely complex, gets a 5/5, and i have an idea. what if in certain levels you could insert specific AI's, not in difficulty but in tactics? like on one level it could be an agressive one, another defencsive, strategic, ect. another thing, may i ask what programs or such go into game designing? i would really like to get into the field. anywho, solid game.

A great game that makes chess look like boring crap. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and it now entertains me greatly to play it on the challenging yet not frustrating "hard" difficulty. The only tweak that I might like to see is to make the pawn a little less powerful (but if you take away the center move + kill then it'll be a chess pawn, lol) :P 5/5 great game, don't listen to anyone else.

This game is like chess... only much much worse than the classic game of kings. Interesting as a novelty, but don't expect it to catch on.

+ so developer can see. once certain units reach the end to where they cant go foward there should be some sort of trade in for a different/better peice? or simply just a shift in its direction?

if you have a piece right next to their flag ready to take it, why wouldnt they kill you with 1 of their 5 possible moves? still, 4/5 game

... I went directly into the enemies ranks and he didn't kill me... i just waltzed into his pieces and took the flag even though he could have killed me.

Great game 5/5, and people quit complaining about the placment, the puzzle isnt impossible you just throw your pieces out into the battle field thinking you might get lucky and win.

Yeah, the AI doesn't always pick the best move, even when it's obvious. I once forked the AI: he could lose either his dwarf (the rook-like piece), or he could lose his flag. He... chose to lose his flag. It might be an issue with not checking the results of the move, because his dwarf was directly between my (two-move) capturing piece and his flag.

i agree with letting us design a match and also how about multiplayer? ive been able to walk right up and get the flag and theres been tons of enemies ready to attack. i would prefer real opponets instead of dumb AI

all the stuff other people say is cool and all but all i really want is multyplayer, or at least able to have 2 people play on the same computer ;/

i don't know if it is just me, but i am finding the green that highlights your moves difficult to see against the colored tiles of the board. doesn't affect gameplay too much. just bothersome.

Awesome concept. Sure the AI can make a strategical mistake at times, but that's what makes it more fun for me. If you made a "Deep Blue" level impenetrable AI, it just wouldn't be any fun at all to anyone other than a handful of chess-master type strategical geniuses. I like it the way it is, personally.
I definitely would love to see a multiplayer, since a concept like this really shines when we can play against friends, and the only bias that can ever be claimed is one person outwitted the other, rather than claims of 'the AI cheated' or 'the AI is too dumb'.
