I finished a rouge run with a +4 electric sword and a +3 Fire Axe, I got each of them as a +1 but managed to up them, and damn that made clearing the game so much easier. xD

My progress keeps getting wiped, which is a good thing since now it doesn't show how bad I am at this game :P. But it's bothersome when I have a saved game, any idea how to fix this?

Idea: permanently charmed shamans or other enemies that can heal each other can heal you other charmed enemies/minions, but you prioritize the play (I am happy that they will heal you though, very nice touch)
Also, does anyone else like/do best with the necromancer?

me: *playing as necromancer as usual*
Game: here, have two rings of strength on the first floor.
Also, serious talk, it would be nice if some of my skeletons fell with me through pit traps.

unfortunately the timer randomly resets sometimes when saving and reloading (although very, very rarely, I've seen it 2-3 times out of thousands of saves and reloads). I finally got a legitimate time of ~6:30 but it shows my best time as under 3 minutes.

what the hell is that selected square that appears in the upper left corner of the floor when you select a wand or a blink scroll?

@AggelosM57: out of curiosity, I've just tested it and I can confirm that increasing Fire Mastery doesn't improve the damage of the Inferno sword.

After playing this game like an addict the past couple of years, I finally noticed you have it on Steam for $10 so I bought it. I am beyond excited about the updates I see. Thanks guys!

Wait, wrong version of the game. I thought that was web but I guess not as the race is gargoyle. Fastest time on any version is 3m44s. Sub 2min was possible on one particular patch, lost a 1m56s two steps from the goblet.

@yfuh, that explains how I had the top score of 108 consecutive wins, only to be immediately surpassed by you at 157! And then I died. ;-)

After experimenting with quitting after getting the goblet, I've discovered some things:
- You can easily stack up wins by repeatedly dropping the goblet, then picking it and quitting.
- The goblet sells for 250 gold, but you can't actually sell it.
- The maximum number of enchants on an item is apparently unlimited, at least definitely higher than 100.
- You can get any item, by repeatedly resetting wells of wishing and scrolls of acquirement.
- There seems to be no limit on how much damage you can deal/take, I intentionally killed myslef by shooting a crystal golem with a +100 Long Bow on water, and I took over 3100 damage.
Overall, this glitch is pretty cool as long as you have enough patiente to keep doing it, you could definitely do some crazy stuff with the mages.

After a ton of suicidal playthroughs, I got a legit 8:35 time with the rogue (fortunate enough to drop through floor on the 16th within blinking distance of goblet)... basically swiftness with hellfire and heavily upgraded charm of blinking and a lot of luck. Any legit times better than that?

confirming potterhead's find: quitting and saving upon grabbing the goblet lets you re-explore the dungeon backwards. It still records it as a win. Interestingly, the dungeon has the same layout EXCEPT I found a couple nonrandom levels in The Grove and The Upper Dungeon that I'd never seen before (one with round trees and hidden treasure at the top, and one with a bunch of double-door rooms)

There is a glitch that allows you to play through the game backwards. Beat the game as usual, but when you get the goblet, don't click "done". Instead, hit "quit", and then "continue save". All of the floors except 16 have now been completely repopulated with loot and monsters, which means you can get insanely enchanted gear on the way back up because of how repeat items work. I highly recommend doing this kind of thing with the necromancer and seeing how many skeletons you can summon.

I finally get to the final chamber of yendor and what happens? Take a guess!
The answer is I get webbed 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times in a row. What the hell is wrong with this sadistic dev.

UGH!
Tiles with Inferno orbs should be considered "Dangerous Terrain" to stop people from intentionally walking into them.
I accidentally killed my Lvl 14 Ranger/Fire Mage by walking into my own Inferno Orb by mistake. I guess I'll just have to try again, it seems...

omg i died on map 16 as ranger, i had full hp and shot the tunnel shot against a bat or something. But there was a crystal golem behind in the fog that reflected my shot that critted me to death. Wow 1,5h wasted

this game is soo trash I've been playing over and over and everytime I lose. it's not funny at all.
I've tried all characters the only one that got me furtest was necromancer

In a single dungeon, as a ranger, I've found a +3 long bow, a +4 long bow and a +5 long bow. FEAR MY TRIPLE-ARMED BOWMASTER!

When you're on a staircase and the ice golem touches you, move up and down and refresh your webpage. That would result in a black hole sucking up every enemy that bothers you. I got plenty of tips in this game xD Like using blink command to get behind a door that's locked. Did I mention you can control teleport scrolls AND scroll of accuirement by refreshing the page and trying again? :)

@mahke Even without a melee weapon, you can unequip your weapon and then "punch" the golem to death via strafe attack. It's slow, but golems don't regen so you will eventually destroy it.
To unequip a weapon, select it, then open your inventory and move the weapon out of the selected slot.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@mahke, that's a good solution. I also enjoy leading them on a chase through some fire shrooms where possible. Watch them blow themselves up.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Way to handle the ice golems as ranger is strafe attack. Keep at least one melee weapon drop, equip it, stand diagonal from golem. Move away 1 straight (not diagonal). It will follow you, you will hit with melee, it will not hit you. Repeat until it's dead. If you get super unlucky with RNG and don't have any melee weapons run away diagonal and ditch it somewhere. Consumable if you have to but you probably don't.

@20Haakon01 - the Ice Golem is a nasty one. Lightning and fire wands are great for that, and scrolls of domination are really handy for them too.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just used the wand of draining on an ice golem, but apparantly he reflects it or something, causing me to take damage instead of getting healed. "Level 9 ranger killed himself in the vault of Yendor". RIP
