Won after 120+ deaths! My opinion = play necro. Do all side dungeons for max loot. Use consumables ONLY to avoid death. Upgrade energy/focus till max energy=21, then ALL dex (for evade+stealth). Don't underestimate evade. Prioritize evade rings, else toxic. Poison staff is the way to go, while your skeles fight, juggle DoT on multiple enemies = max damage. Ignore all other weapons. Ignore fire/cold/shock/melee/ranged power. Energy regen's HIGH priority. NEVER get infectious disease or find out the hard way. Up some forti to survive bursts n life spike to heal. 12 forti's good by F16. Diagnl click uses 1 turn, but arrow keys take 2. Religions don't do much. Only enchance poison staff. With skeles, keep 3 energy buffer to emergency life spike. Don't chase snipers, hide n they come to you. Upon F16, ideally, toxic mastery=3, summon skele=3, life spike=2+. Buy energy potions+hell fire scroll+knife-summoning+confusion wands for F16! Restart if no good loot by F3. Full-offensive builds suck.

(1) Auto-explore should collect yellow/red/blue fountain (2) starting weapon should be in quick-slot (3) auto-explore should never use single-use weapons to destroy crates; melee punch should be used instead (4) when auto-exploring, I find myself spamming E so often because auto-explore keeps stopping even though there are no nearby hostiles, and this is because auto-explore keeps stopping on some other events e.g. gold collected, item collected, door spotted, etc. There should be an option to avoid such meaningless stoppage during auto-explore

The final challenge of this game is to get to the highest win-streak (in the highscores).
For everyone who struggles to beat the game. Use "E" to auto-explore, then as soon as you see an enemy use the numpad to move and the mouse to attack. Don't make more then 1 Round per second. I often think something around 10 seconds about the next move in a room full of enemies.

follow up: I beat the game using this strat! I was hard carried by my vampirism gloves and dumping all of my skill points into fortitude.

for the first time in this game I managed to max out one of my skills, 20 points into fortitude on barbarian+fortitude talent= over 100hp

In my opinion, yvesson, the rogue is only weak when the player lacks game mechanic understanding and experience. rogue's potential is heavily based on how you play the game and how much you know about the game's mechanics to best evaluate your decisions. In fact, I believe the rogue is one of the best classes to manage a multiple (ranged) enemy ambushes when you are near a staircase.

Hej, how come this game is named rogue fable, the rogue is like the weakest character of all : low melee damage, no mass attack, no ranged attack beside darts and javelins. Stealth is nice with the crits when the opponent is sleeping but when there are many awaken, you're screwed !

after playing this game every once in a while for the last 3-4 years, I would like to proudly say that I finally beat the game for the first time. I am so bad at this game and yet it's so fun to play. 5/5 for me. The only flaw is the fact that damage isn't constant, it can change from 3 damage to 103 damage on the same level against the same enemy...

there seems to be a glitch where I clicking things on the map doesn't do anything; I can only move with the keyboard and I can't manually attack any enemies

interestingly, flash freeze does not have its duration increased with spell power, but cold attunement still lowers cost

For the longest time i actually didn't know that upgrading the enchanter's confusion spell improved its aoe range. I beat the 45 minute speedrun without that. Am I dumb? No, its the games fault, obviously.

Aggelos is referring to the save and reload technique to do their test. aggelos likely compared the exp gains from killing a spawner on its own vs killing everything it spawns.

I'm curious. How does everyone here deal with spawners? Cause, personally, I let them spawn enemies until they die in order to gain the max amount of exp.

@AggelosM57: The damage listing seems to be more like a maximum than a set value. Sometimes you hit full power, sometimes you get a glancing blow.

nice how sometimes bats will take two hits to kill with a 3-4 dmg weapon. it doesn't make a smidge of difference but i hate it on principle alone.

what do you mean? does it take up a turn and use up mana but doesnt summon the skeleton or does it just not register?

How come the summon skeleton fails more than half the time? It's the only spell that I have tried that fails to work.

Oh come the hell on! I was surrounded by goblins near the stairway. I selected to move up the stairwell by pressing < and my wizard decided to move off the stairwell and kill himself.

It's so hard to get a better when playing a ranger ! Even with acquisition scroll or blue altars. Would you consider adding a ranged weapon category ?

sometimes with smoke bomb, the enemies lose line of sight and combined high stealth stat, you can regain the unseen status to go for another crit attempt too
