Finally beat this game with Necromancer, and now I'm wondering how you can do it with basically any other class. They simply have no sustainability, every time I tried, I ended up surrounded with no real escape option. Even spamming potions didn't work, as the burst damage was just too high.

Barbarian makes resource conservation much more difficult than other classes since you basically just have HP and don't naturally recharge abilities. Need to figure out how to abuse strafe attack to make it work, or lucky RNG. Weakest class by far.

I agree on the Barbarian. Apparently the class was nerfed because it was the most successful class in Rogue Fable II. But now he's removed from a huge bulk of the game, has a manna bar that is useless, and plays with a logic and style different from everyone else. He's now easily the weakest class.

Something needs to be done for the Barbarian. He is woefully under- powered and heavily disadvantaged. I just starved to death because I couldn't find enough food, but more than that, what good is the special library room? Three crystal chests and I can't use any of them. Four bookcases, and I ended up with bonuses to Focus and Spell Casting? And with all the ranged attackers, it's rather unfair. Perhaps if Rage added to armor, or make that a Talent, perhaps it'd help.

I've FINALLY gotten a win with each character. Rogue was my last and toughest. I'd be doing well, and then I'd get swarmed by too many enemies at once. Freezing cloud worked well. And LOTS of running away to charge Sleeping Dart!

I got my first win (ab)using necromancer. The skeletons are very good. And life drain + canibalism make you completely sustained without much micromanaging lvl ups and food. A single drain can vamp over 50 damage late game without uping the spell damage... pretty insane

I enchanted a halberd up to +5, and shortly afterwards found a +6 halberd... Then at the last level I found a +7 halberd in a chest. Strange bug?

After playing this literally hundreds of times I have finally racked up a few wins. Confusion is the best. Hit the room with a couple of confusions and wait until there is only one left. Disease is also good unless there are blinkers or someone gets hasted, then they can show up next to you and infect you. Freezing Cloud is also very good, especially in the Core. If you can get all three of those you are set.

Game locked up and when I continue the save, I am trapped in the Orc Fortress with no escape. How can I clear that game and get to the Main Menu?

after much trail and error i perfected the skeleton army after loosing my only weapon (on accident)the final room was cleared with a single hell scroll necro is #1

Suggestion for the Rogue: rather than increase the sleep time on the Sleeping Dart, give us more darts to use or a shorter cooldown with increased levels in the talent. It would sure help when mobbed by too many enemies at once.

Personally I think the character dies extremely easily. It's not a hard game, yet you keep finding yourself in situations where you appear fine, yet suddenly you're dead. Maybe I'm just bad at this particular game, but if that's the case, then it's the first in the genre I've had this issue with :D

OMG... finally got the hard badge WITH A BARBARIAN of all things! Right after that, I beat it with a warrior. Now I'm trying mages and found out I really suck at playing those :/

Woo, 176 gold! Now I can go to the previous floor to buy the +3 Energy Charm from the merchant! (little did I know I would immediately find a +4 Energy Charm on the next floor.)

@rincewind44 Spell power effects all spells. Elemental Power = Spell Power + Elemental Bonuses, and is used in place of spell power for magic attacks of that type. If you don't have anything that gives elemental bonuses it will just use your spell power. Spells deal from 50 - 100% damage. Critical attacks or melee/ranged abilities deal 100% of the weapons damage, plus modifiers, giving a consistent damage. Normal attacks deal 1 - max damage, giving a wide variation of damage. Each point of spell power increases your damage by 5%, so increasing the damage of a poison staff which has a low base damage takes a lot of spell power.

:( I still dont get any feedback, in regards to game not loading in Edge browser. I posted in bug section, then in game comments and no response. I would appreciate if there can be another way to get best of 2018 medal and the extra kongpanion. I already have all the other badges except for this one

OMG I finally beat this game. It has taken me forever to do it!! 1 win and 277 deaths. I can finally put this game away now and be at peace. It haunted me for quite some time. I will change my rating from one star to 5 stars. Something that just abuses me over and over and keeps me coming back for more must have done something right lol.

Interesting bug. If you were webbed on a staircase and happen to use it to avoid the mob closing in, you may be surprised to find your character stays in the same relative square as they were on the previous floor.
At least that's how I assume I managed to fall to my death by taking a staircase to the final floor on a daily challenge.

Yes, you can now feel free to preemptively destroy nests to instantly gain all the exp it would've produced if you let it spawn everything. Was a tactic back in RFII, but it has been patched here.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I also wonder whether the exp you get from killing critter generators depends on how many critters they have produced. If I kill a rat nest before it has time to produce anything, do I get the combined experience I would have got if I instead let it generate the five waves of rats and killed them all?

I was getting ambushed in an area with explosive mushrooms. Stepped on a teleport trap. All the enemies died off-screen. I guess I win.

Possibly the easiest strategy - just max out focus as a necromancer, walk around with all of the skeletons. Cannibalize to restore mana to restore skellies, and hold back ~12 mana to summon skeletons right on top of enemies faces. Prioritize equipment that boosts mana, and since you aren't casting spells other than summon wear heavy armor and ignore the penalty to spell power. Even better if you manage to find a book/bookcase that grants you something like sleep dart or the ranger movement skills.

Oh, and another way that makes auto-exploring with E dangerous: while the guy stops when he receives damage or sees an enemy, he does not stop when he sees an enemy-placed trap. The following happened more than once: I am are auto-exploring with E. An ice elemental is around the corner, I can't see it yet. It places an ice bomb which I can see. The guy ignores a visible ice bomb and keeps auto-exploring, making several steps towards and around the bomb, wasting the precious 3 turns that you have to get out of its way. The control returns to me when he finally sees the ice elemental. That is too late and I am caught in the explosion.

how does the damage work? last game it dealt the damage it said on the weapon this time it seems random. and how do i increase a specific spell type? i got a poison staff as a ice mage and i couldn't up its damage

Getting the Tome of Enchantment as an archer did wonders on my ability to deal with crowds. I never got to know what was in the final dungeon room - I just let them have fun while I listened to the explosions.

spells shouldn't just get increased duration as you level them up. Charm lvl 2 is essentially worthless because most charmed monsters die well before the duration runs anyway

god the quick weapon slot sucks so bad. if you have a staff of energy equipped in it you don't get the mana and if a staff of energy is equipped normally and you have something in the quick weapon slot it still unequips the staff and loses you energy when you use the quick weapon. which just means there's no quick way to use the staff of energy and still benefit from it fully
why is this like this?

Was extremely disappointed to find out the pit at the end just kills you. It just looks like a regular pit, and it gives you the same message as any other pit, so I jumped down and lost at the last level.

Yo bro there is a bug. It does not make it past 99%. Unable to play. Please correct. (tried several times to send the email but konregate is being a pain and saying I need to update my email... (have and still says it)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not too trilled about this being "hardcore mode", especially when 99% of completing the game is based on random monster spawns.

Your level 16 ranger killed himself in the vault of yendor. I was on level 16 out of 16. Surrounded by combatants and I used my lightning charm. Must have clicked myself or maybe just too many things touching me. I don't know but I keep coming back to this over and over and never getting a win. *cries*
