Fire Mage Run - I died in 4/4 Sewers to Toxic Gas and a bunch of enemies. I probably could've won, but my mouse slipped.

I had a necro run where I picked up an Inferno Sword in 1/16 and had a Necro Melee hybrid run. I went to Iron Fortress, then to Dark Temple, fought some elves. I went into the Arcane Tower and died. I died to a Storm Imp shooting a Fire Pot.
Fun things that happened:
In Iron Fortress, a Pyro and a Bomber teamed up to kill almost everything in the room besides me. The Pyro shot out oil, the Bomber bombed it. A grand kaboom with flame and smoke, and almost everything died.
I Life Spiked a Ballista and sent a Skeleton after it. I then finished it off with my Inferno Sword.
I got a Blue Dragonscale Shield from a Crystal Chest (other options were a Long Bow and an Enchantment Scroll.)
The game gave the kill to the Storm Imp that shot the Pot, rather than the Pot itself.
Level 8 Necromancer - Arcane Tower
Weapons - Staff of Poison, Inferno Sword, Some Axe (the cleaving ax i forgot its name),+2 Sling (I never used it)
Equipment - Leather Armor, +1 Shoes, Blue Dragon Shield.

Following up on my comment, it figured it out. Upgrading spell power will increase all magic types' power, thus increasing staff damage.

I have no idea how to increase the power of my staves other than the magic mastery talent. Do I upgrade ranged? Spellpower? Intelligence? Its not very clear what increases the staff itself

Took a while but I was able to get every class under 45 min. Such a fun experience. Just need that 5 day streak now and I'm done! :D

It took me 62 attempts to complete the game, eventually got it done with a lvl 15 storm mage. I've came to the conclusion that this is the easiest playthrough. Utilise water areas and don't go into optional dungeons if you want to finish the game. Goodluck

lmfao, despite not beating the game this is pretty fun. i keep forgetting to check my hp whenever i get swarmed by the enemy. so far i have failed to get to the end because i like to do the optional dungeons as well

i really like this game. i played it many times, and always come back to play another run. i bought the steam version as well, but i prefer to play this web version. i think this version is more balanced, as a mage you are a glass cannon, but on steam version you are only glass. again it is my opinion, as most players seem to prefer the steam version

@epic_6822 and @topcatchf This is the first version of Rogue III. It is now on Steam too, but Justin really should have called that one Rogue IV because he's changed a ton of stuff since this version (it's even better now!).
I'm pretty sure all the maps are rebuilt for that one too, so you will have plenty of new levels to explore @topcatchf

How is game data stored in this game? Right now, I can't use my own computer, and game data isn't stored on Kongregate (unlike every other game). I tried looking at the cookies, but that doesn't seem to be it, either. At least not the cookies reported using "document.cookie" on Chrome.

Finally got the Vault of Yendor 16 map with the pit. If you jump down in that level, you do NOT get to a secret 17th level, but just simply die :D

Estoy usando el traductor de Google en este momento, pero buen trabajo con la medalla, amigo, este juego es difícil. y lamento que sus comentarios sean rechazados solo porque están en un idioma extranjero

exactly the same today actually. theres 2 pits on 9/16, one 2 spaces down right from the lever and one somewhere up left in the circular room i think

Well all characters start with darts for ranged attacks, You'll get more so just use them if you need to. The only room in arcane (that I know of) with lava would be the final level (which you can prepare for).

Today's daily "challenge". By the 4th level I already had 1 wishing well, 3 adquirement scrolls and a nice free weapon.

not to say the game's bad but I really hate the scroll of teleportation, which is supposed to save you from sticky situations, takes up a turn, allowing an enemy near where you teleported to immediately snipe you (and kill you). It just ain't right. But it's what it's.

infectious disease is good since your skeletons dont get infected which means you can have a wall of them to block it. its dangerous with teleporting enemies like imps or any blinking champions. at least its good for vaults

Won after 120+ deaths! My opinion = play necro. Do all side dungeons for max loot. Use consumables ONLY to avoid death. Upgrade energy/focus till max energy=21, then ALL dex (for evade+stealth). Don't underestimate evade. Prioritize evade rings, else toxic. Poison staff is the way to go, while your skeles fight, juggle DoT on multiple enemies = max damage. Ignore all other weapons. Ignore fire/cold/shock/melee/ranged power. Energy regen's HIGH priority. NEVER get infectious disease or find out the hard way. Up some forti to survive bursts n life spike to heal. 12 forti's good by F16. Diagnl click uses 1 turn, but arrow keys take 2. Religions don't do much. Only enchance poison staff. With skeles, keep 3 energy buffer to emergency life spike. Don't chase snipers, hide n they come to you. Upon F16, ideally, toxic mastery=3, summon skele=3, life spike=2+. Buy energy potions+hell fire scroll+knife-summoning+confusion wands for F16! Restart if no good loot by F3. Full-offensive builds suck.

(1) Auto-explore should collect yellow/red/blue fountain (2) starting weapon should be in quick-slot (3) auto-explore should never use single-use weapons to destroy crates; melee punch should be used instead (4) when auto-exploring, I find myself spamming E so often because auto-explore keeps stopping even though there are no nearby hostiles, and this is because auto-explore keeps stopping on some other events e.g. gold collected, item collected, door spotted, etc. There should be an option to avoid such meaningless stoppage during auto-explore
