Boy meets girl, girl falls for guy, guy dies, girl is depressed. Grey world is a metaphor for her state of mind, and the items are small gifts/mementos of good memories given to her when he was alive? Always a sucker for surreal games.

Spoiler: I think the girl is his wife or girlfriend and he died and shes sad. He tries to make her feel better by giving her all of his things (such as the flower in his grave) and she is happy in the end

Literally my only complaint is that you can't see the whole world in color once it's all done. I would have liked to see how everything came together all over the game 'map', if you will.

I would give it a higher rating than I did, but all of these "art" games are falling into a pattern of telling the same story, but with different game mechanics.

I think it might be interesting if the flower is the last available thing to be taken. Maybe have it not show until all the other items are already gotten?

One of my personal favorites Great game
kittemple I believe you saw the same as me I think the others who have analysed the story have missed the dove in her hands at the end - that shows that she found peace. Hence ghost guy goes to lots of efforts to show the mourning girl that he loved her, and her she feels his efforts and finds peace with his passing and he can 'move on' and lose his presence (pity you couldn't get some haunting neighbours points while running around).

oh so what happens is that he's dead, and in the beginning he waves his hand, but she can't see her. Which makes him sad. So he brings color or joy back in to his girlfriend's life because she is grieving his death.

@Amnhoteb really? i can't understand half the things you said in your comment and if you dislike a game enough to bash like that then you should at least say what was wrong with it other than the driving force for the game disagreeing with you on a personal level. and if it does then keep quite about it you f***ing troll. cause we don't like your kind here.

It was near the end that I noticed he was getting blurrier with each gift. The last one I picked was the yellow flower, and I realized it was he who parted, bringing back the color in the life of his beloved one. It's usually how it goes. We lose someone we love, we remember the good stuff and we are able to move on, knowing they are not only in the past, but also in our present and future. 5/5

How come this game has been sponsored by armor games?
I must agree with Pengisimo! Some "stupid" games are being promoted very well, some other very good games, are not promoted at all.

The game reminded me of lyrics from a Brand New song,
Do you miss the blend of colors she left in your black and white field?
Do you feel condemned just being there?

My own reading of the game is a bit different. For me, the boy is a gost of someone cherished by the who has passed away (this idea came to when i got the yellow item because of what was near it). The gost tries to cheer the girl up but fails. He then tries to bring the girl some items, most of which come from childhood like a balloon or a teddy. By doing so, he manages to show the girl that the world is still colorful and filed with beauty. But as he continues his quest his presence also fades : on a first level, his purpose is being fulfilled so he gradually disappears but on another we always see the world from the girl's point of view and the gost is not so omnipresent anymore. Finally, as the girl turns back, she both misses the ghost of her lost one that she feels behind her for the last time but she also sees the world in all it's beauty.

***WARNING SPOILERS***
I think that the game Grey is a metaphor for a one-sided relationship.
Every time he gives a gift, he become more transparent, which I feel represents loss of hope and/or faith. But, each time he gives a gift, he sees more, the blue sky, yellow flowers, etc. This, I think, means that he not just loses hope, but he also sees maybe another woman with a common interest, or a better personality. He starts to pay more attention to Woman B, while ignoring Woman A.
***LAST WARNING FOR SPOILERS***
I also believe that the grave is a symbol for the "death" of the relationship, a small memorial for the girl he thought he loved. The fact that he disappears obviously means they broke up, and the dove in Woman A's hands may mean that she found her actual soul-mate after the game.
I hate when people do this, but I worked hard on this, and I don't want this going to waste, so + if you agree

Is this a marriage sim? he goes out, does all the work while she is sitting around doing nothing, he brings back gifts and she doesn't even pretend to be impressed, then he just dies of old age and she didn't even make him a sandwich!

I wonder who decided to use an old lollipop from a crack in the wall over a pool of stagnant water in some other guy's basement as a present.

You should add a way to wander around the colored world, maybe as the girl. I wanted to see what everything looked like with full color :(

A great game that is full of sadness... The color fits and the music is perfect for this game
This short game may be short, but it brought kindness into my heart.

I think everyone is being too deep. Clearly she just didn't like being given a purple lollipop that he found in the sewer and so she killed him. Simple :P

I really like this short story...In my opinion, I think that the moral of this story is that small things can greatly affect your view of life. It also shows, that focusing on only one thing can make you forget the important aspects of what life truly is. The character in this game,is a great example of stubborness that can change the viewpoint and beauty of living.

Beautiful. But I could use some more game developing there, just for artistic purposes. You know, simple little details make those games brilliant. As for the meaning, you don't really need to know more, you just gave everything you had to make her happy, and it drained you away completely to the point of not being able to be yourself anymore. It's a shame she knew you would do that from the beginning. I think that's why she didn't bother talking to you.

I think I understood the whole concept of it. Still, a lot of questions got unanswered, like "why the whole world was grey?" "why didn't the girl notice him?" "why did we have to get those specific presents to her?"and let me stop right there before I give any spoilers. You see, it's nice that you tried to make something for the player to solve, but it still need some better explanation. Try being more poetic, like: for each object you get, have some sidestory that involved the object, you know what I mean? It's not bad, but it need more story development. 3/5
