This game is very close to excellent. It needs several tweaks. 1) The balance between heroes is way off as several people have noted 2) It would be good to be able to buy a limited number of spells or icons to reset the board or buy guards rather than only waiting for 4 in a row. 3) A more detailed stats page would be fun too. I hope there's a new version in the works.

Yeah, I hate to keep harping on the same topic that everyone else keeps harping on too, but did you do ANY playtesting for balance before you released this game? Most of the bags (the wizard's default armor) grant extra healing per match. So the wizard, who hardly ever gets hurt, has the best healing potential. The wizard, who has the lowest need for guards of any of the heroes, has the best leadership. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that the wizard, who is the only hero who lacks a penis, gets to wear the most supportive codpiece. And I don't know how to improve on the mental image of a female wizard wearing a codpiece, so I'll consider my commenting done for now.

Warrior: "This shield is incredibly useful for blocking attacks, I just pwn at surviving" Mage: "This bag of tricks helps heal me up for the next assault, and every time I get a new one it's 10x better than the last!" Horseman: "Gee, my cloak helps me lead, good thing I've got an army of clerics, macemen, and archers on my line, we'd be pretty much screwed otherwise!"

Wow, whose brilliant idea was it to add an enemy that can ignore your hero and attack walls directly? And to make 2 out of 3 heroes physical so that you can't do anything about it until they're right in your face tearing your walls down? A tip for the later levels: if you see an enemy called a dragonkin bladewing, and the lane it's attacking down doesn't have any ranged attacks, you're going to lose at least one level of walls before those dudes die.

I rarely write comments and this may possibly be my second time doing so here but this game REALLY needs a reworking for the horseman. I have not upgraded or bought my mage anything in about 4 levels (she is holding ~60ish weapons), and yet having the horseman holding THE BEST still causes him to die. The issue I see is whenever a ranged monster attacks him he has no fighting chance unless I get him to gallop...

wel i mean you can work on the characters to make one more powerful than another or do it to make them all equal but still...the growth upon leveling up is not balanced

The knight getting worse as they level up is a display bug, I leveled my knight up and got +-3 and +-1 and their stats went up.

additionally, some skills that can be leveled up by spending gold would be good. i take almost all my equipment from the gold boxes, and have tons of gold left over with nothing to do with them.
a hp bar for the guard would be good too. none of your guards or heros can die in order to get the gold trophy for each level, however guards die w/o me even noticing it, a hp bar for the guards would be helpful so that i can replace those dying guards and get my gold trophies

I feel like there are two things that if added, would greatly improve the experience. 1) There has got to be some kind of way to manipulate the board. Some times I am desperate for a certain color, but have absolutely no way to modify the board. Unless I get extremely lucky with a spell (by matching 4 or 5), I can't change the board. 2) A way to upgrade the basic effects on a hero. I'd love to spend some of this money to change how much health they get per match, or the starting level of my guards

If you replay first level it's pretty easy to collect gold and chest. And items from treasures are on your level ;) It's a good way to collect good items quickly and easy.

Is there anyone here that did not get the Knighty Night Badge besides from getting their sorceress to ten? No one? Of course not.

Has potential, but too many different colors mean there are rarely more than one or two places I can click, making this more a game of luck than strategy.

The Mage is so stupidly overpowered, she's never even the least bit bothered by whatever the Evil Hordes of Evil throw at her. I like to imagine her doing her nails and compiling a shopping list while absentmindedly zapping hellish abominations back into oblivion.

Warrior:FIGHT!!!!! sorcess:HAHA TAKE THAT SCUM WArrior:HAHAHA YOU CANT TOUCH THIS NANANANA Horsemen:what he sai----------*dead* warrior:thats the 6th time this week sorcess: should we just ban him from this game?

Exactly how far away from eachother are these heroes standing from eachother? It just seems a little odd when both my warrior and sorceress have obliterated their respective bosses, and just take a time out and watch the horsemen fall and allow an entire city wall to be taking down by a lone skeleton.

I went from 4/5 to 5/5 stars after about midway. A pretty good working strategy I found was purposefully locking up the grid. If you are caught in a position where they are no possible moves, ALL the tiles are consumed and added towards their respective colours. Start from the bottom, and work your way up. Always match the lowest ones first, use the abilities as soon as possible, and match horizontally whenever you have a choice.

Terrible game. The unbalanced issues are discussed above. The game also lacks any sort of content other than "play next or previous level". Overall just a bore. I don't know how people played this to level 10++

I would love an option to lower the quality. It can get choppy at the hardest moments, and it screws you over. Also, allowing balance among classes might be smarter.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game has a lot of potential. The imbalance in the classes is a major issue which many have pointed out. Having the melee guys heal for more per building and gain xp for guard kills would take care of that balance for the most part. In addition is seems that some of the hero skills just don't make sense. The mages heal (match-5 with bag) is a great ability for emergencies early on, but since it heals based on her HP it drops off when the larger armor is available. It seems odd to put the "heal based on my HP" on the lowest HP armor available. Keeping the melee heroes alive is the main use for the heal but it becomes incredibly small later in the game. Haste is another one (horseman match-4 with sword). If the heroes don't gain xp for guard kills then why have an ability that improves the guards and not the hero?

@skooleek: Um, there is actually a way to know when the game will finish loading. There is no loading bar, but if you look at the "King's Guard: A Trio of Heroes" image above the spot where "Play" appears (after the game has finished loading), you will notice that the image at first is the same color as the background. But if you look at it, you will see colors filling the image and that gives you an idea of how fast the game is loading. Use that to judge how long it takes for everything to be done.

gets reeeeally repetitive after a while. i love the concept, it's like part puzzle, part tower defense, part rpg. and that's great.
maybe rather than tile swap every time it could be some different kind of puzzle? i dunno. i was bored to tears by the time my one character reached level ten.

Yeah, my horseman is soooooooo powerful, i understand why you lower his attack and HP when i level up, you're right.
Wait...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wait, am I reading this wrong? For the past 10 level ups, the horseman has gained +0 in every stat every time. No wonder everyone's complaining about how weak the horseman is.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game simply wont end..... After the first few levels no real new mechanic is added at all and it feels super grindy.....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To revive a hero you do not need a 4 or 5 combo. You need to heal the hero back up to full health. Standard 3 combos works just fine, if a bit slow.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Nice game. Just hope to fix some balance issues from the heroes themselves to the weapons that it add and minus some stats. But still nice game! :)

"Soldier, do you have any complaints about your commanding officer?" "Yeah. I hate how he sits in town playing Bejeweled all day while we're fighting for our lives..."
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My only complaint is that for the past 5 level-ups, my heroes have either gotten nothing, or LOST health/leadership. WTF?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yup, I can confidently say that the horseman sucks and the sorceress is op.
Also, might I say, it can be REALLY annoying to get extra units sometimes.
