You acquired this badge on Jun 07, 2012.
I don't remember playing this at all. There's a built charater and the dog even has my long lost dog's name.
Whatever my past self was doing, thanks.

The puzzle box with 9 cells is stupid: since the number is related to the adiacent cells, but not the diagonals and itself, it means that you in fact have two separate puzzles: one with "the X" (cells 1-1, 1-3, 2-2, 3-1, 3-3) and another with "the diamond" (cells 1-2, 2-1, 2-3, 3-2), that don't interact with each other. Also, for some reason one of the two puzzles is always ambiguous, with two possible solutions with the same 50% change to be the right one
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Huh. Apparently I played this 13 years ago and apparently made quite a bit of progress, got a few badges. Came back for the BOTD and I don't recognize it at all! Getting old....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Diamond Hero Badge is just funny. Kill 1 MILLION monsters?! They really want us to spend literally our entire lives on a single free browser game. Ain't nobody got time for that!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Are you serious? I just got a 50-50 puzzle box:
121
212
020
The answer could either be
110
010
001
or
011
010
100
There's no way of knowing which is the solution.

The minesweeper button puzzle is so much easier than the guessing colors game. Give me at least 10 tries. At least the energy refills for free.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Does anyone else find the puzzle box to lie about what is in the correct column? I have moved things around and it will suddenly say a correct thing is incorrect even though it would have been impossible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is so bad... The puzzles appear randomly while you have to worry about running out of energy and the puzzles are also chance based because you have limited guesses.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So the daily achievement for this game is to solve a type of puzzle box that has an immediate statistical chance to be unsolvable 5x. Also getting the puzzle box is a random encounter. Also the type of puzzle box you get when you find one is random. Also, the attemps use up a time delay energy system. That is one giant pile of BS.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
WTF is this shit. There are so many good games to play, why even waste any time and energy to this overcomplicated, uninteresting, pimped up excel-file crapfest?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
When I played this game I was about to reach the top 100, I was level 74 back in 2012 I think, and yet I am still too far of those impossible badges.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
if you're able to win a battle a second and have unlimited energy, you're still looking at 278hours to reach the 1million kills badge. Now layer on the energy recharging, and all the other encounters... a game like this might be worth that many hours in 2010 when I got the original badges but come on...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Are the free energy refills for today only to make the BOTD achievable in a single day? Even if they are, I won't be taking advantage of that since it still doesn't activate my neurons.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
100 monsters killed: easy. 400 monsters killed: no problem. 2,000 monsters killed: alright. 8,000 monsters killed: slow down there buckaroo. 1,000,000 monsters killed: That's gonna take longer than the development time of this entire game probably. Just make a clone and upload it to Kongregate at that point.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Being forced to earn all the badges of this game would be considered a cruel and unusual punishment. Good thing I can just choose to stop playing the game after getting the BOTD.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So, despite not liking this game way back when, I still stuck with it long enough to get the Lucid Dreamer badge for completing the final quest in the main story. That put me somewhere around 2500 monster kills. You're seriously telling me I need another 997,500 to get the Impossible badge? WHY?!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I return to this game after 13 years, see the 16 badges, and roll back into my own dream world laughing. What have you been smoking? @ Kong
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You answer trivia with the first 3 characters of any word in the hint or % to act like you clicked accept instead. It applies to multiple words, like if the hint is "o_ a___" then answering with "on a" may be correct. Any input with numbers, like years, you have to answer with the exact number.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
n000r, if trivia are too ambiguous you can confuse the wise man back by answering "#" (if it does not work... try another symbol but I think that this is the one that confuses him).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@n000r Yes, there might be some differences in difficulty as Ancient One has 2 battles, but Emerald Princess only one, but if you invest your points correctly it should not be a hard fight. At most you retry until you get lucky. I just went ahead with the Ancient One and got it first try as a Dragon Slayer. Either way you get the final quest badge.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So it doesn't matter whether you chose to fight the Ancient One or believe him, the result is exactly the same?.. Hmm.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@K0NG_IS_RIP Yes I just gave a naive calculation without considering refills haha. But either way it's too much for me. I mean, there are so many good games out there. Kong is good way to kill time, but if it ever turns into weeks, months or even years of an ordeal then we should really renounce the completionist side of us and just give up on the badges.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Sak there are a lot of ways outside of levels and natural refills to gain energy which drastically cut down that set time. Level 140 is much harder to achieve compared to 50k puzzles because exp needed vastly outscales xp gain until the exp needed stops increasing. Xp gain increases by about 22-25% per level for me atm, xp required is increasing by 60%. Only a total of 15 people in game on our servers have reached 140
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Naud you severely UNDERESTIMATED the time. The bottleneck comes from the energy, because you only have a small chance to encounter random events (around 20%?), and you have to encounter specifically puzzles out of puzzles/questers/allies/traders (25%). And within the 4 types of puzzles, you have to encounter those that are not trivia or treasure chest (50%). So even if we assume, generously, out of 25 energy spent, 1 valid puzzle is encountered, and you solve it correctly 100% of the time, you still need 2500 energy, and assuming no refills from level ups, that would take 2500x4min/60 = 166 hours, which translate to ~21 workdays using your standards. On top of that, if we further extrapolate this, then the impossible badge actually takes 28 work-years, longer than Kongregate has existed. There is not one person in this world who has played a game that long. So yes, it is in fact, impossible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@bakkart even as a medium it's still way underrated, the corresponding easy badge took me 10-15 minutes. and this one takes 20 times longer. definitely worthy of the 'hard' rating imo.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really thought we were gonna get the "Fresh Adventurer Badge" from last time (April 10th, 2023), but not only is it a different badge, it's a medium badge. And not just any medium badge, but a grindy medium badge. I've sometimes earned medium badges in 15 minutes and often in 30 minutes, but this one takes a full workday. Not worth it!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Last time I spent 9 minutes and did 2 puzzles. Another 98 puzzles would take me 441 minutes or 7 hours and 21 minutes. No way. I have enough BOTDs to get my shiny Kongpanion this week. I should have used that reason yesterday to not waste an hour on that game.

Faster BOTD: you're interested in Opening the Puzzle boxes, so in the Town Map select the lowest lvl area, go there & spam Attack-Explore until you see the Puzzle Box. In a new browser window open Dream World puzzle solving tool page. Now with the windows side-by side you can insert the values from the game into 'The Hunt for 4 Green Buttons' or '4 Color Box Solver' & click solve. With other encounters you can either skip or choose the fastest resolve like Bashing the chest or talking to The Wise Man. Buy Energy for 0 from Guardian. Take breaks to rest your eyes.

Just figured out that this is not an easy badge but a medium, which seems appropriate (but perhaps bumping up against "hard"). So my apologies for my earlier complaint. Still, for a Badge of the Day, it's a bit much.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
These badges of the day are becoming a stress test for game ratings as we respond to terrible BoTD the only way we can: lower the game's rating and hope it never pops up again, even when it's an otherwise sort-of-ok game. I feel bad for the game designers... They might be the biggest losers.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Seriously, Kong ? You badge an awful energy game from freaking 2010 and put a medium grindfest badge as BotD ? That shit is right up there in worst game ever right next to the the papa games. Oh, and screw you for deciding this was a good idea.
