Gave it a 1 Star rating due to the energy system. It's never acceptable to have energy in games. Get this trash off Kongregate.

I'm never playing this game when it has an official release. The Yu-Gi-Oh! wiki says that all beta testers' game progress and items will be reset. I just spent 50 kreds without knowing this. Just wasted my money. Thanks!!! >:(

Yeah, was excited when I read the description. Saw complaints about "energy" in the top comments. Not even going to try it. Energy using games are just not worth playing. Ever.

We should be able to trade 100 energy for 1 DP ... otherwise there is almost no way other than luck for people who cant afford to pay for stuff in a game to win any of those weekly top 50 cards ...

if you cant play area 5 without series 1 cards then why dont u give us series 1 cards at the begining?!?! makes no sense

Whaat?! I have to sacrifice creatures and spend a TON of duel points to craft a card? It's just an Obese Marmot. I'll live without it. Why so expensive? Do you want players to build multiple specialized decks or not? At this rate, it'd take 9 years just for one low-level deck. Talk about disappointing.

@gemhead this game, if you were to go to the main site, was intended for facebook. As with social networking sites, energy systems are extremely common, although kongregate is not a social networking site, but rather a gaming site, but with all the members on this site, some developers can mistake Kongregate as a social network as well. I wish though that if this game were to be added here, the objective leveling system should be replaced with an experience leveling system instead, focusing on story battles rather than arena/friendly battles, so that the energy system would seem more fair (that and grinding on ambushes would yield more than money).

@ShaneG9, my guess would be they dont want you to blow through the whole campaign and get all the rewards so easily. They probably want you earn it.

I would play this game for HOURS, and probably purchase it (y'know, $30 like old GBA games) if it were playable for more than 5 minutes at a time. =\ Wish that all cards were attainable without decades of gameplay (or, y'know, $$$), but it's a nice concept. Better than any of the Yu-Gi-Oh games on the 360, that's for sure.

It's a good game. But I do not like the energy thing. Especially since this is a game that I believe is not available on Iphone or Android. (I haven't found it) If it did not have the use energy feature and especially the feature that allows you to buy more with money then I would probably keep playing this game. Right now, I have no energy and I do not want to come back in a hour just to see that, oh by the way, this is BETA mode so your progress was lost.

It's not enough for cell phone games and major platform games are constantly asking for money, but now even flash games are catching on to this stupid trend and making us pay to even play the damn game

has great potential, but the energy system needs tweaking or removal, and the life points are stacked, not to mention i bought a booster pack @lvl 1, and i couldn't edit my deck

I think it's obvious by a lot of comments that the energy system needs to be changed, but I also like how you can have more than 100 enregy at one time in case you level up so you don't waste energy.

Why is there an empty node between "story" and "tutorial??" xD
Also I love how the shop isn't locked like EVERYTHING ELSE from the very beginning.

Also the ability to see what's in my deck BEFORE playing my first duel would be nice. Like, really really nice actually. What the hell is wrong with this game? Oh, beta...right...

Also is the settings menu just for show? It does nothing. Literally nothing. I slid the sound bar to 0 and the music continued to play as if at full volume.
I repeat, the settings menu does NOTHING.

Energy is consumed by playing the game because this is one of those games where you can only play for such a limited period of time before you "run out" of something and in order to continue to play you must either A) take a break (OMG! WHAT??) B) or buy some form of premium whatever to refuel your energy/stamina/whatever. It's quite common actually.
My comments. The music is too damn loud and the "advice" Yugi was supposed to give me only appeared on screen for about 2 seconds so I didn't have time to read THE FIRST DAMN LINE let alone anything else.

I feel like you should balance the dueling system out a bit... It's not exactly cool when you get faced with a super DP user who's like level 10 when you're level 3.
