I couldn't get my ship to move on stage 9, I had saved my all my files the same, I had the same exact code as in the picture, but then I realized that I hadn't clicked on "export to action clip" when I had made the ship into a movieclip.

they use adobe flash CS3 for these tutorials, but i have macromedia flash professional 8.
everything's worked so far, the only difference i noticed is that i don't have all that color/align/info/transform at the top right of my script page.
should i be able to do the rest of the shootorials no problem?

so im doing this on CS5 and using autoscript 2.0. i am having the same problem as most people on here and i cant seem to get the ship to move. i checked to see if all the Ship names were rite and they are. there are no errors. i have taken some programing classes and i know im not messing up anywhere in my code. so please help. There has to be something different between CS5 and CS3 coding or something along that line.

Guys, I've saved when GreenPuffle said too, I have the option to publish, my code is exactly the same as theirs, and the ship won't move. Is it supposed to be a sidescrolling game so you wouldn't be able to see it move on a white background or something? No, because at the beginning of this tutorial you can fly the ship around. NOOOOOOOOOOO. Help!

Guys help my coding is the same as there's but when I test the movie and push the arrowkeys the ship just stays in the top left corner! HELP

Whoo I did it! Tips: 1. If you mess up restart the whole lot, and delete all the files you saved. It's easier than trying to figure out where you went wrong. 2. Even though it doesn't say so in the shootorial, save the fla file (the one with the ship picture) as ship.fla. Make sure you save the script file as ship.as in the same folder. 3. Don't capitalize the S in ship. Because I think it is just easier when you just spell it the same all the time. 4. Don't give up!

for all those experiencing trouble with CS 5: Instead of creating a new actionscript file, press the little arrow next to where the ships instrance name is (top right corner under properties) and input this code:
onClipEvent(load) {
var velocity;
velocity = 10;
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame) {
_x= _x + velocity;
}
}

Hi guys
I added a second condition for the ship to move so it doesn't go out the screen
if(Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)&&_xs nice

So I am downloading the trial version, it sai 2500 hours for about 5 minutes and for the past ten minutes how it has said 500 hours. From her I presum a drop within 8 minutes to 5 hours, a 15 second pause before going down to an amount of minutes, and then a half an hour of irradic ticking forwards and back and then finally finishing instantly. Still a lot better than 2500+ hours.

It does work on cs5.5, I just did it after literally a good 40 minutes of not understanding why it didn't work. I just tried it for the 3rd time and I had done everything right according to the tutorial before. So yes it does work for cs5.5.

This tutorial was a waste of time because... THIS DOESNT WORK!!!
Here is the code
class Ship extends MovieClip
}
var velocity;
function onLoad()
{
velocity = 10;
}
function onEnterFrame()
{
if( Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT) )
{
_x = _x + velocity;
}
if( Key.isDown(Key.LEFT) )
{
_x = _x - velocity;
}
if( Key.isDown(Key.UP) )
{
_y = _y - velocity;
}
if( Key.isDown(Key.DOWN) )
{
_y = _y + velocity;
}
{
Even thou that is there it doesnt work...
