wait, sorry. I just fixed step 9, but for step 10 i enter the code and test the movie, the ship keeps moving right instead of being controlled by my right arrow key. Anyone know what i did wrong?

am i to stupid for this?... i can see the ship..but everytime i press test, i do have 8 ERRORS...and i dont know how to fix them. first of all well.. i got the german version :D somthing like :Classes can only be defined in external class in action script 2.0... please help me >:[

Yeah my ship isnt going anywhere, ive started over a few times and still nothing. It is saved as Ship, everything is corresponding. There are no errors apparently either

my ship wont move and i get the message "The class of interface 'Ship' could not be loaded"
and i have remaked it 3 times!

My ship wouldn't move until i putted a motion tween in the action script. Do i need to do that or should it move by itself?

A hint to everyone whose having difficulty, always SAVE BEFORE TESTING. The testing will not work unless the code has been recently saved.

I got to the point where I test the .swf file, but its simply not moving at all. I have compared it to the one on here, bt theres absoltely no difference. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!

It says Adobe Flash CS3. Im pretty sure you might want to try the newer versions.. But for the newbies, the older ones are great practice.

Plz help me....... I have cs5.5 firstly i didnt understand what the fla file is , secondly i dont understand how you put the ship.as file in the same folder as it. One major issue is that fuction, var, and classs dont highlight blue. And finally when i click file no publish button comes up :( please somebody, somebody comment or prefarabley message me on how to do this

THIS TUTORIAL WORKS FINE WITH CS5. EVERYTHING worked for me. I completed all of the shootorials exactly as they are written. Just make sure that you are using an Actionscript 2.0 file. Any other problems are your own mistakes (making mistakes is how you learn).

i really wanted to make my own game but that adobe program is too complicated, plus all the commands and everything. i already had the theme of my game and how it was gonna be, but that adobe and the steps wayy to complicated. screw it for now, till i change my mind or have somebody help me.

Uhhmmm... I'm trying this in CS5 and when I test the movie, (Control -> Test Movie -> In Flash Professional/Test), I don't see anything at all, just the white testing box. Maybe it has something to do with page 5 and the fact I don't fully, of just don't, understand which directory ''The same directory as your FLA file is saved in'' is.

I was just getting into it and everything :p CS5 doesn't seem to support the same functionality as whatever version was used when the tutorial was made when it comes to the programming the MovieClip imo. Plus ActionScript 3.0 is now available to use.

can some on pm me telling me how to fix this i've just made the ship and i'm converting it to a symbol and it says "The name "Ship" is already taken. Please use a different name" and does the name even matter?

On page 8 I saw that I have 1 error: Symbol=Ship, layer=Layer 1, frame=1, Line 1 The class or interface 'Ship' could not be loaded.
