DESPERATELY needs a tutorial. It's a really interesting concept, and the functions of most of the pipes and valves are reasonably well explained, but knowing how to make the steam do certain things is useless if we don't know what we need the steam to do in the first place. Expecting players to use trial and error just to figure out the barest basics of gameplay is a bit much.

brilliant, *brilliant* idea. I can't overstate how much I love open-ended puzzle/challenge games like this, where I get to design and tweak something. Notes, though: a tutorial would help, and the first level isn't in-depth enough to count. In fact, with as few levels as there are, this feels like it should be the tutorial for a full game that hasn't been developed yet. The ability to save/share/export designs would be cool. Fighting other peoples' mechs would be exponentially awesome. Also, timed switches/valves would be really cool, and not just to make a machine gun.
I'd give my right arm for you to make a sequel. Incomplete as it is, this is one of the coolest games on kong. Let us fight each other's bots, and it will be far and away the best.

small tutorial:
the bottom two brown circles are your power, start your piping from there
when you fight you will see a lever at your bottom right, that will control your control valve(if you installed it) the red circle in the center indicates the pipe being used (eg. half the circle is red on the right the right pipe is open and lets steam through)

@esran Because I beat the game, I'll give you my most efficient design. The rifle works like this: The top valve loads a shell, so have one pipe leading into it. The bottom valve fires the shell. Have a pipe leading to that, but with a fuse valve as well. The fuse valve has to be set to at least 30 psi. You can run both pipes from one boiler, connected by a joint connecter. It fires reliably, and can deal pretty good damage if the fuse valve is set to 60 psi.

ok to get the cannon to work you need to put a fuse valve set to 60 , next to a joint connector. Connect the connector to the fuse and the cannon use a steam vent on the last opening. The cannon needs no pressure to reload. Vote up if it helps.

Way too complicated of a game. I'm surprised the creator didn't think to put in a tutorial that actually teaches you how to play.

If you click the very small and very obscure question mark just underneath the components section you will get a tutorial!!! (Albeit a small one)

I think this game is wonderful for my sceintific min, because of the fact that I can't beat a level then come up with something in the middle of the night, and it works!

Wish I could've voted this higher but found it unplayable without referring to comment thread. Definitely needs some sort of tutorial or more explicit instructions.

Once you figure out the weapons this game is awesome. Btw a "rifleman" mech will destroy most of these levels. Build a dred that has a branching pathway out of one of the engines that leads to a holding tank (each) and a 60 psi valve on the other side leading to the firing pipe of the rifle. Out of the other engine build to the switch and have one side of the switch kneel and the other going to both reloading pipes of the rifles. 3 volleys will kill all of them

My god this game is fantastic, but you really need to implement a way to carry over your design specs to the next level. Also you need a tutorial badly.

Awesome game... nice to see something different in the way of game concept. I would agree that the game needs a clear button for when you want to redesign from scratch, but other than that, 5 stars!

This game definitely needs a tutorial. However, upon finishing it and figuring out what everything did made me feel smart. I really enjoy games like this.

One vent is not enough to lower pressure for the cannon to reload before next wave of pressure builds up on fuse valve. Use two vent on pipe leading from fuse vault to cannon.

Crouching makes you more accurate... it's just that the rifle only hits the body, not the legs. So use a switch to make him duck incoming fire, and stand to shoot.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
to shoot with reapeating rifle you use the top pipe on the rifle to reload and the bottom one to fire I advice using an alternator valve.

Got the gun to work after a lot of messing around. If the parts had better descriptions it'd be great. and maybe not such a rigid work area where you're pretty limited by space. 3D perhaps? Anyway, excellent concept and hope there's a sequel!!

You know how people take technology for granted? This is the 15th century technology and I'm already getting a headache o_o.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about level 2 is easier than the first level. The real hard one is level 4.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
please add episode 2! no offence anyone who cant figure it out but i found it chalenging and yet not immposible. 4 levels is not enough for me!

i am really awful at this game without good tutorial (shut up xoz444 u don't know point of the game) somethink like 2/30 gets quickly damn good at this game... with tutorial even 28/30 would be good gamers... + if you agree, - if you think same with xoz444

if you use the alternator on the crouch mechanism, it makes him teabag. also, if you have the alternator lead to two fuse valves connected to the rifle and set the fuses and alternator to 50 or 60 it shoots auto
