For the timers/oscilators, one line in the validator is 5 gates in time. Also there is a "Toggle music" option in the menu for those who missed it.

6. Show Me My Darn Score! - It would help to be able to see it after I beat a level in the game, rather than going to the chat GUI to find it. And once I have beat a level, let it update on the fly so I can test easily.
7. Undo/Redo Buttons - Just the last one or two moves, thats all I ask!

Lol, I had a nice logic unit, although a little chaotic, working flawlessly, and then I added the last operation - DISRUTPION... -.-... I was like WHAT THE FFFFUUUU

Great concept but a little weak in the engineering accuracy. From the perspective of someone who has done some VLSI design work (simulations in an intro VLSI course) it's kind of confusing to not have it be clear if we are creating BJT or MOSFET devices. The tutorial talks about PNP and NPN and there is no polysilicon layer (as in BJT), but the construction is more like MOSFET. Also the lack of a ground is odd. Instead of having 0s we should have floating and strong 1's. Fixing this would require a ground and either resistors or CMOS. Also using the gate as the collector/emitter of another transistor isn't allowed :(.
Despite all my grumbling though it definitely has lots of potential, and the challenge of not having a metal2 layer makes it a nice puzzle. Kind of like circuit board layout challenges more than VLSI challenges, though.
On a side note it would be nice if the controls were hold shift to delete whatever is selected and P and N doped silicon were separate buttons.

I think the tutorial needs to take a step back and explain things even slower...I can usually do programming games, but I have no idea what is going on here, what P and N mean, what the difference is between silicon and metal, what is "above" and "below", what the diagram is even asking me to build, etc.

everyone!!!!! CRUCIAL!! listen!!!!! in the totorial in the top right corner there is a pause button
Make sure this comment stays alive so people stop complaning!

My one issue is I can't be zoomed out enough to see it all and still be able to read the text, other than that great idea

If anyone wishes to have the component for a clockpulse, (works for lvl 4 and can be used in future ( I think) ) here is a code:

2:diode
3:frecvensy shortener/pulse blocker
4:XOR gate
5:counter(if in a chain)
6:delay (two can be made into an osiloscope with some other components, ore an frecvensy shortener)

Sorry for flooding in coments, but this game is just AMAZING! I passed 8 levels, spent about 5 hours in 2 days. It's great challenge! Sorry if my english not so good.

Fantastic game. Thanks.
Main menu screen makes me think of two things. There was no soviet union in 1994, and there was no euro in 1994. )

So I've figured out a few now. But I'm having to read up a lot and learn these techniques from scratch. I've reached an impasse though; does anyone know how to create the power-on reset generator? So far everything I've seen includes resistors, which you don't have in the game. are you supposed to put loads of gates in series and use the lag?

This game prepared me for my Digital Design class. It's easier to know how things like adders work when you've BUILT one.

There is something I fundamentally don't grasp about the logic behind level 11. I just have no idea where to start even thinking with this one.

Cool thing in this game is reinventing electronics from scratch. Bad thing is, well, the game itself. I found myself "playing" mostly in my notepad(paper one) and gameplay of drawing transistors only gets in the way of testing my designs.

No ingame tutorial. found the video after a while. found the pause video button after being already frustrated by the faster-than-read-speed of the video. The video does not explain step by step. I guess you need a UI designer to make a good tutorial.

I have no idea how to do this, and I cant do the first level even WITH the tutorial, but because it's by the makers of The Codex Of Alchemical Engineering, I have given it 5/5 and favourited it, becuse it's probably just as fantastic if I knew how to do it.

What i really hate about this tipe of games is how it makes you feel stupid.
"Oh,well i see you've completed the level,goo...wait HOW MUCH CYCLES HAVE YOU SPENT?STUPID!LOOK AT THE RECORD BOARD AND DO IT AGAIN!"

I'd really like to play this, but when I hit the Shift key for the first time, it switches from N-type to P-type silicon permanently, and I can't switch it back. Maybe it's because of some bug in the Linux flash player, but it would be nice to have some other way in the interface to switch, or another key.

To HellzBullet: if you want to make the delay longer just make another line of gates (i assume you wanted to say gates instead of transistors sorry for the correction) and connect the last one of the first row with the first one of the second just like you would do if they would be just next to each other (my apologies for grammar mistakes i am not english)

Oh how I want this game to be in past, when I was learning Physical Basics of Electronics - only now I see how those things really work!
Thanks for good game, Comrade ;)

I wanted to play, but the video is waaaaaay to fast to read, and the game is a bit hard to go playing blind. Better instructions please.

"initial levels do not teach you the basic building blocks of the game (as they should)"- castorquinn. The beauty of this is that it is a game where you have to actually think, rather than just making you put whats in the instructions into the building frame. The game is perfect as it is.

level to complete.. i think im starting to grasp the basics. haha :D
