yeah, sometimes the game can fail to contact Kongregate's servers. Refreshing the page should do it, but the game will keep trying to contact Kongregate so that might not even be needed.

Protip: If you're ever using Pacifist mode, make sure to also use the handicaps for lower attack damage 5/10/15% and No Death-Bombs. It adds 35% to your score but costs you nothing at all, since you can't attack or bomb anyway.
True, but you're not going to set any highscores playing on pacifist mode, and the rank boost you get from pacifism will already give you the best rank.

It was probably obvious to everyone but me, but it would be nice if it was indicated that costumes are purely cosmetic. I assumed that they functioned like accessories in the EBF games. Like I said, I might be the only one who had that problem, but if I'm not it might be something the game should mention.

also on maps like 10-3 with red enemies its so hard to see the difference between there exploding matters and the bullets as their colors overlap. why not only change the color of your dot instead of all the bullets?

i don't like the new high contrast mode as it's even harder to see the bullets now on most levels, try level 9-5 as an example

Update!: Changed the menu background, removed the hidden debug menu, removed the demo watermark, added a "Medals Earned without Expansion" stat, changed the bullets in high contrast mode (better? worse?), and fixed some small bugs.

Guys, the controls stick, a lot. I'm using keyboard and I get stuck shooting, moving in a direction, or even using special weapons. Somehow the game is mistaking the input as held when I release.

There are some problems with the 10M medal, I've seen the tooltip that says I got it, but I can't see it in the medal page

Absolutely loving this game so far, and I sense badges in its future. But in the spirit of a beta game, I have two complaints to raise. I am afraid of spiders, and absolutely terrified of wasps, so those bosses were particularly unfun to play (with Anna rubbing it in, even). Not really much you can do about that though. The other issue is the bullets themselves. It seems like whether high-contrast is on or off, it's very easy to lose track of certain bullets and run into things you didn't know were there. I've gotten better about this with practice, but it would really help to tweak that a bit. Maybe if the high-contrast bullets were red. Or even color-customizable. That way it can function on any colored background, and with colorblind people. So there's my 2¢. And again, excellent game in all other respects. I especially enjoy the music and the characters' conversations.

I selected the Xbox controller as my control method, but it wouldn't recognize my controller. I went to switch to keyboard controls, but the option to do so disappeared. So I don't seem to be able to play. I can shoot, but I can't move about.
...any idea what I need to do?

hey matt, great game you got here! So far, it's much better than the original. Quick question, though: will this game be coming to steam like EBF4 did, with all of the content unlocked? I would buy the extra content, but unfortunately I don't have any kreds. I would love to purchase it on steam.

major lag on big explosions, either from bombs or mid-bosses and bosses. the spider bosses bullets that appear like a target or a big circle one ring by one ring lags like hell too when he does that (diffuclty "normal"). i have most settings turned off to keep the game smooth.

Love how you incorporated the use of xbox controllers need more games on here with that feature. only thing that could really make this game be better is if there was an EXP and upgrade system rather than just allowing us to buy a couple diffrent weps.

It's so nice to finally get a good new game in this swamp of Idles and MMOs on Kongregate. It's also cool to see that you are still developing new games since it's been way too long after your last one. I haven't played that far yet, but it seems like a fun game. The only things that bug me are the slow movement speed of all characters (even the "fast" NoLegs) and sometimes I didn't even notice that an enemy fired any bullets until I was hit. It would be good if you could make bullets more obvious (yes, I tried transparent character and items, which is a really good option, btw). I don't remember having this problem in BH 1 though.

Sometimes the bullets blend with the background a bit, you could try making it darker and see if that helps at all.
The movement speed feels slow because it has to work with all types of controls, not just mouse, where an "infinite" speed would work. I guess that's a limitation of having multiple control schemes.

Lovely music and gameplay. The creature indicator at the bottom of the screen is probably the feature I love the most (a feature not usually found in bullet hell games). Also congratulations on the game being Greenlit so soon as well.

It'd be nice if the high-contrast bullets were a different color from your hitbox. It's really hard to keep track of white on white. :)

Dear DEV, a base64 encoded JSON is not a good format for a savefile, it's too easy to tamper with it. I understand this game has no multiplayer component, but still, make it a bit harder to cheat.

I should probably mention that saved games from the beta version will be compatible with the final version. But you'll probably have to use the data backup feature (found in the game options menu).
