Who needs wind power when you have a magical wheel underground that seems not to be affected by friction or needs a power source to run...

Along with the other energy issues (needing wind power with perpetual motion machines) apparently the gears themselves require light to exist. If you remove it, gears in dark areas just disappear.

Maybe the the reason we are powering the windmills is because this world has a shortage of wind? So these are wind generators! ...

Actually, we're not fixing windmills, but building giant fans to create wind for other uses. Just behind the camera is a major seaport, which depends on the wind for sailing.

It would be nice to have the gears mesh, not just the edges be flush to each other. That way, like a few other people commented, it would be easier to judge if a gear is the right size.

The powered cogs are a metaphor for oil. Wind has failed the little liberal commune, so they must power their grain mills from reliable, underground oil and natural gas deposits.

Hmm. Maybe it's less that the villagers need wind power, and more that they need wind blowing -- in which case a backwards power-to-wind converter would make sense. Maybe. Somehow.

I'd prefer if you put the size of the gear (for those in the toolbox) instead of the quantity in the center of the gear. quantity can be represented by a small white number at the bottom right of the gear.

It's the wrong way round. And so? It's a game, and a nicely written one. Only obvious bug is that the DEL key will delete *everything*, which is trivial.
I've got to level 12 and haven't cracked it yet. The first 11 levels got a little harder each time, exactly as they should.
A very nicely written game, good graphics, good music, one (very minor) bug. Well done authors! 4/5 :)

Would be better if you didn't have to move the dots / holes in order to complete a set - it requires too precise of a placement that it just becomes a nuisance moving those dang dots!

The gears aren't shown with a proper meshing, which is both wrong from an engineering standpoint and also makes it harder to visually guess which size will fit properly in a particular spot. Also, the only complexity seems to come from having a confusing array of holes to choose from. Not terribly enjoyable practically or intellectually.

Nice game, just needs some tweaking. Especially controls... it got little bit tedious with handling the wheels. I wouldnt mind the forge wheels handling kind of thing (but you could only create preset number and types of wheels, no change there), then there is no need to always painfully select new wheel in case you pick the wrong one. Also... there could be more forge wheel levels, those were the best.

Alright, I thought maybe I was missing something when I wondered what exactly the point of windmills are if they aren't actually the things generating power. Rather than 'helping' the villagers power their windmills while really only feeding their delusions, I'd recommend having a talk and advising them to begin investing in non-wind powered means of energy production. Perhaps also advise them to get at least one person with even a rudimentary knowledge of physics, or perhaps even just a tiny bit of common sense, so he/she can explain why exactly wasting energy doing useless things does not equate to having more energy.

Assume you're some kind of a god of gears, and you're trying to restore power to the otherwise wind-powered village by using your miraculous underground mechanisms, without alerting them to the fact that you're intervening. You know, so you don't upset their culture and have to CONSTANTLY listen to all their whiny little prayers.

i was thrown off by the way the gears fit together- it would just make more sense visually if the teeth meshed together instead of bumping each other.

This is great for science class in bible belt, god makes the gears move that's how windmills work.
