No, don't you see that the gears are powered by the perpetually spinning bananas from Donkey Kong Country? They have harnesed the greatest power on the planet!

It is a fun enough puzzle game, but it is backwards! The original spinning cog should be the one attached to the windmill. The whole point of a windmill is to create movement in a cog in order to power something else. This game depicts a mini-golf hole windmill that is powered by electricity or something.

why dont turn it around? that the village needs energy and that they've built windmills and you need to do the gearwork?! That make's alot more sense. + if you agree!

It bothers me that it looks like pieces should fit, but then they're just red for no reason. It's hard to judge the size and control, which makes it annoying to even try to fit the gears together.

It would [almost] make sense if the point was to create wind using the windmills, but that's still not going to work...

Obviously you, sir, are a kindred spirit. I remember when MY windmill seized up and all the wind in the world stopped blowing. My only qualm is the simplicity of this game. Obviously a machine as complicated as a windmill takes more than a few gears to create the wind for a village.

Beautifull little game. As others said earlier, the story doesn't make mutch sense, but I don't think you realy care mutch about that. The artwork is magnificent. I find myself dissaponted every level because I can't explore these lovely caves. :)

I think I'm not the only one that was led to believe this was a wind physics game by the name, gotta start trusting the genres put up by kong...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you see, this place is too cheap to afford wind, so it just builds these large contraptions underground to put on the affect of having wind so they... wait.....

and the gears is just a fun and hard way to do the game the message is that windpower is key to energy and not coal i mean i guess it could be the water moving the gears or the geothermal from the volcanos but thats geting too indepth its suposed to be just a game

Actually this is one way a windmill could be used, this time, the windmill is a wind generator that powers the wind turbines.

Is there any way we could buy the song in the background? I'd definitely pay a buck for it. It's incredibly relaxing.

Should we be concerned that the town is floating and we just put gears within the earth that may dig through the dirt...?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good game, but it would be so nice if the gears actually meshed instead of just turned because they were kind of near each other.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Well obviously the windmills being hooked up to the gears are supposed to generate more wind, so the wind can then drive the windmills again, winding the gears back up for the next time they need to use them to get more wind.
Makes perfect sense.

No idea why all the upvoted comments are seeking explanations as to why the cogs turn, etc. Seriously, do you go into every physics game expecting for an explanation of everything? There are plenty of games with perpetualy turning cogs; just because this one has a little bit of story doesn't mean they have to explain all of that. It's just a game, for goodness sake.

Did NO ONE ever consider that the big flaw in logic perhaps is INTENTIONAL? Geez.
It's done all the time. It doesn't work like that, but it's a game. Just enjoy the fun and quirk of it.
who the heck CARES?

Jesus people get over it! Everything was perfect so why would they spend resources to build something different to the gears... and its a floating island village... so if you can accept that why cant you accept that the gears spin for no reason?

Very original games, but it isn't very logic. If you had a wheel that started turning by an underground river, it was better. Especially the forge wheels are original. You should make a level pack with a few updates and maybe without power from wheels under the ground, but by reflecting the sunlight?

As an engineer, I disapprove the animation of the gears. The tooth contact is wrong, the teeth should clink into each other. like this: \_// \\_// \\_// \\_/

I this it's very well put together. The art style is beautiful, and the concept is fun. However, it's difficult for me to tell that the gears are meshing when I place them, or if they are just really close. There is an OCD part of me that wishes they really meshed well together, it would be much more satisfying for me.

Good concept, poor execution. It's very hard to whether gears will move each other in certain locations or not fit at all without actually trying different combinations. Making this more of a trial and error exercise than a thinking game.

so what is the point of a windmill if you are powering it from underground and not from the wind? they could just make a energy plant
