A global map would be a great addition to the local map. See where you are relative to the save site. Also, marking on the map your goal would be nice too when appropriate. You might have to explore first to see the goal, but then you would know where it is. Mark the exit points clearer I got stuck on the first quest screen because the exit was not at first apparent.

So dissapointed that this game is a great RPG in terms of flash games, but has all the faults that bad RPG's have. It is as if the creator knows nothing about good RPGs, yet clearly he/she does by the good points in this game. Good graphics, loot system, combat and pet system. However, I am utterly dumbfounded as to why there aren't any hotkeys, especially for items and spells. Not to mention the grinding, terrible drop rates, bad controls, perma pet death, repetitive music, confusing travel and bad save system. If the game can overcome even half these faults, a definative 5/5, but for now i'll stick with 4/5.

OK no save option or autosave at the start of each screen/level/whatever (wich dont have any arrow pointing entrance/exit) SUCKs, i lvl up from 2 to 4 without going to the city, obtained like 15 shell and lost everything in 2 sec, no man, improve stuff, i was like "yieeiii no exit sign sucks but 4/5 yieiii" 5 min later get killed by an amazing lvl 5 snake with 1 crit or so "FUDGE! GTFO WTF LOL ROFLCOPTER *closes chrome* sheet men <.<", so 2/5 1 for the graphics 1 for the gamplay -3 for missing stuffs, atleast until u update it :D!.

Overall I think the game has got potential to be very good. However, I do agree with other commenters that the controls need to be improved greatly. For instance, creating a hot key system for Attacks/Abilities/Inventory would be great. Non of this clicking back and for to get to stuff during battles. Also, while I get the convention that connecting land pieces jut out arrows would help greatly, as would objects becoming translucent when the character or an object is behind them. Last comment is on the leveling, so far its ok, though I can see how it might be frustrating at higher levels if the level rate continues at this pace. I'll post again when I'm through. It's fun right up until you lose an 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay due to either A: a freak accident in the real world or B: your pet randomly getting crit for its healthbar making you reload because you refuse to give up your pet. An autosave function when I change maps would make this much more playable. A revive pet function would make this game much more playable. Also, the game is FAR too grindy. Did you actually complete the "collect 28 beetle shells" quests? I did. I want my 1.5 hours from those two quests back.

Most of you guys are lazy to travel back to city. Please visit the General Store and go buy Castaway Feather which allow you use teleport into city.

Just like the guys before said, this game could be a lot better. Personally, I like the combination of keyboard and mouse but at the same time, hotkeys would be nice to have. A bonus in my opinion when it comes to this game, I like the leveling system. No killing creatures 10+ levels higher than you cause you've got an item that pwns. Also, you've got to consider what your pet is doing, along with your spells and abilities. A lot of battle factors in my opinion make this game pretty awesome. Just like Fluffeh said, the whole diagonal movement thing is sort of a problem. Something else that could be improved upon (thanks cmikaiti) would be the dialogue. I understand its just a dialogue but when that much imagination is put into a game, all of a sudden, the thing blooms. Besides all this, the music, art, general story line, battle system, everything is splendid.
Rating - 8.5/10

Also, in that pet Tutorial, "fight along your side" would sound better as either "fight at your side" or "fight alongside you." Xelestial. fromthe HP/EXP tutorial at the first fight: "If your pet dies, there is no way to bring him back." Find another pet, I guess.

Hmm, see something you missed in the Tutorial, for Pets: "You can also command your pet by clicking the appropriate button in their sadfasdf below." Couldn't think of a name for the pet's window better than "sadfasdf"? ;)

I am so freakin sick of "Error, name is too short". Do you how many damn games discriminate against my name? Go to hell, game. You get a 1.

i'd prefer if "down" sent you down and right, and "left" sent you down and left. Maybe you could add an option to change the controls.

This is some classic RPG logic "I'm a strong looking guy, but i'm gonna send the kid to the dangerous places to save us all by killing monsters" Gotta love it :D 5/5 nice game

Mouse navigation would also be great, back on the 'diagonal angle' issue, instead of using WASD and arrow keys, be given the choice to navigate with the mouse, I find it rather odd that you have not implemented that but implemented the click-follow-attack system. I also dislike the fact that when a pet dies, he/she dies permanently, it's another frustrating feature for people who have worked so hard to level him up, just to end up loosing him later on in the game. Finally, another point which I have come across in the comments is 'transparency', when behind objects, or if there are items/monsters behind there it would be nice to add such a feature. Despite all this problems I still think this game is very fun to play and rather interesting, and I will give it a rating of 4/5

Very good game, great potential, but like others have previously stated, a lot of issues also. I find the 'diagonal angle' of which the you have to move very awkward as normally I hold my keyboard straight. Also, arrows on the outskirts, showing entrances/exits to each map would be recommended, I have realised that you have created a bit of a "Sticking out" edge to show it, but it's still rather irritating. Leveling is rather slow, and I don’t know about the others but I am sat here thinking "Too many eggs, too little Beatle shells!", and again with the hotkeys, maybe if 'tab' would swap between 'abilities' and 'attacks', then hotkey the skills from 1-0, I also dislike the fact of only being able to save in town, from my point of view, it does not make the game more challenging but infact extremely irritating and hard to cope with due to the fact that if you die you have to start back from when you saved! Which in my case, is an entire map back in time.

Please fix the dialog. I read MUCH faster than it displays and it makes reading an annoying chore.... first click should show the entire text, next click to advance to the next page. Thanks.

The storyline leaves MUCH to be desired. "I'm a grown man frightened of insects. Hello wet, androgynous youth. Please solve all our problems."
Implausible, even for fantasy...

I agree-the arrows on the transport-squares in the tutorial would be nice to have during the rest of the game.
Also, a bug-I tried walking past a trio of Sand Snakes, and my pet got involved in fighting them. I walked into the next area and proceeded to try and heal it using some Wild Berries, but for some reason its health jumped up to a high number then back down, and it took, like, 6 berries and then it stayed at full health. This is probably because it got dealt damage as I was leaving the area...
Also, hotkeys for items would be nice. Sometimes I'd like to heal mid-battle, and having to make one, two, three, maybe even four clicks to get out of a low-health situation has proved disaterous for me or my pet multiple times.

First impressions: VERY slick. Beautiful graphics. Great tutorial. But... WTF is up with the directional keypad controls? Point and click would have made this game an A+
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
movement and skilll use is pretty bad. the drop rate for the shells on sand beetles is messed up. you get 1 in like every 10 kills. it has the potetential to be a really good game but it still needs things like auto saving and etc. 6/10.

There needs to be other towns where you can buy better gear later on. The controls kinda sucks and the background objects should become translucent when you walk behind them. Otherwise, this is a great game!
