I've been sitting here playing this game for two hours already without badges. I say, much like the long list of those before me, rebalance the fame requirement and give us some badges and I could easily see myself playing a lot of this game. I love the mechanics.

I lost several of my students in the battles because half of them were ignoring my commands and the other half just stood still.

just killed the apprentice in week 4 of the first month with a level 4 starting sorceress lady. all i did was immediately run behind some water and he got trapped after killing the rest of my team =)

Fame req is a little heafty, especially if you miss a month. Either quests need fame or the amount it goes up needs to be toned down. Also no path finding for the chars is just lazy.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The fame per month scaling is way too high. Can't actually play the game because I have to worry about having enough to advance. Also, I agree, some of the errands (relocating drakes) and hunts (hold the meteor, map the magic) should provide you ambient fame bonuses.

loved the gameplay in the first year, but the farther you get the more difficult it gets to keep the fame up... 1k++ fame in 4 weeks? no chance! can't even train a single student to lvl 10 in that time... =/ add "easy" difficulty pls.

Interesting concept. Wish there were more classes, and a better way to organize hunts. Like characters staying in a formation rather than all the lower levels charge and get themselves killed.

Its the kind of game I wanted to make when I had obtained the skill to make. And come on guys, if there was no fame or less of it, it wouldn't be much of a challenge would it? btw, I support fame in quests. 5/5

i agree that the it is missing some thing. Like maby you could receive missions from your old students or something like that that gives a story. Because these students are more like aprentices not like a public school, with this current game it feels more like students in heroes out no story.

You know why I like this game? Because I can use it for the start screen. No music and no graphics=yay.
Because the game itself is terrible. 3/5 just because some good thought was put into it.

Decent strategy: train up a mage and fighter (or maybe a different combination) and gear them up, use the other two slots to train up people. I had a geared rank 30 Sorceress and ran around doing the hardest hunts i could find, was fairly easy to get the monthly fame Req.

Path finding is off, to say the least, and is highly exploitable, fix this! Other than that, the character customization options are paper thin, if this is suppose to be the type of RPG I think it is, the game need to be over hauled, in a big way. Problems aside, this game is solid, fun to play, but just gets old to quick with the lack of options available to the player, 4/5

I like the concept. The game sucks, though. Execution is terribly awful. Fame system blows, weapon upgrade sucks, fighting system stinks, map is hard to navigate...I could go on. But the graphics aren't bad.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Sucks because you get a cool team and have to chuck it at the end... =[ 3/5... If there was an rpg on here like this it'd be very successful. The level and mission system is great, and classes stats etc.. amazing. Please make a game where you don't have to restart every 4 missions please? =[

My AI characters seem to really enjoy sitting themselves behind easily navigated obstacles and not helping me fight...pretty serious drawback to an otherwise ok game

I'm not even going to finish this game. In the small amount of time I have played, All of my units were wiped out by even the most basic of enemies several times despite them all having changed to higher classes. Also, The absolute need for 'fame' ruins the game. I enjoyed the playing with the party I had. Why should I be forced to graduate a student who hasn't reached even a fraction of his/her potential or fear some ridiculous penalty?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game, but that fame system got me so riled that I had to quit playing. Fame should definitely be received from quests and other things! Would have been 5/5, since I love the concept, but that stupid fame thing knocked it down to 3/5 for me. D:

The fame requirement gets ridiculous when he starts increasing by over 1000 each month. And the fact that the requirement doesn't get halted until the month AFTER you failed to meet it makes it more likely that you'll get two penalties. If I couldn't make it the first time, wait for me to catch up before tacking on another 1500 fame point requirement.

fame checks are simply annoying...
as soon as you get some stronger fighter (later on) you should graduate him??
i mean, lvl 30 duelist, with lvl 10 weapon, and on duelist week is giving 560 fame??
and at this moment i need 900 to fulfill my lvl...
and its awfully repetitive...
you can win the tournament with 2-3 lvl 30 with ease, i destroyed all the quests (have 4 lvl 30 students atm) etc...
but whats the point of: buy him, put him into party to lvl him up on the same quests over and over again, sell him...
and 1 more thing: quests should give you fame...
end of story...
if quests doesnt give fame, what does -.-' i mean, you complete 10 5 star quests, and dont have enough fame for that week...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A nice idea, but flawed in implementation. You only get fame by graduationg students, but can only level 4 students at a time. Then you constantly have to graduate your highest levels just to hit the fame req.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great Game but i agree with most of the people here, the fame is too steep , this wouldnt be a problem if you lowered the fame requirement , a money penalty instead of 10 chance or a difficulty choice.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
would be a great game, except needing to sell ur characters to get fame ruins it completely, 5/5 lowered to 2/5 cuz of that
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Potentially a good game, but the stress of trying to earn the required fame ruins it. It's fun to level up your characters and their weapons and such, but you need to be constantly selling your people to attempt to keep up. Also running into random The Apprentice encounters on hunts who just wipes you out sucks. 3/5.

really, i found the apprentence the 2nd week of month 2... had a lvl 3,4,7 mage, and one melee
took for freakin ever to kill the bastard
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
decent game. just gets boring pretty fast. you need more things to do other then just do quests and lvl up units only to basically delete them to keep up with the graduation demands. it becomes very pointless very quickly. it also has a sort of negative feel to the game when you have to sacrifice your hard worked on units to graduation.

The production values seem very high, and the premise seems great (a little similar to Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As King). Unfortunately, the gameplay is bland and disappointing. More variety in the combat sections and more ability to customise the students would be a good start to improving this.

Before the Fame System began to make sense, I had extremely high expects for the bulk of the game, based on what I saw at the beginning. Simple graphics, an original concept, smooth gameplay, and a nice Grade system. After I began having to drop people from my list, everything started to go downhill. My team was quickly shortened to one long-lasting member, than two. After a while, I lost a tournament on accident, and had to drop them both, leaving me with only a starter team. That's where I stopped playing entirely, since after a while, you learn that having two 30-Grade characters is almost a requirement for some things. Especially when one of them was a healer. Overall, for what it's worth, I'll give this game a 4/5. If the Fame system was either nerfed to hell, or taken down entirely, I'd probably give it a full rating. Great work, though. I may come back and finish the game some time soon.
