It was a great idea for a game, but execution sucks.
Map generator needs to be fixed, in 1h of gameplay I've already experienced a box-like situation (lakes around the portal).
Some things are too RNG dependant.
It sucks to have to restart a run for hard badge over and over again because of shitty quest choices (four not-worth-to-do quests). If at least 4 quest of different ratings were provided, game would be instantly much better.
Similar goes to levelup rng. Pure random is extremely salt enducing and really can destroy someone's plan.
Beside that I found some bugs during my short gameplay. Apart from popular complain that characters often get stuck (which I don't really mind, since I find this an additional challenge rather than bug, since it's easy to say when you or your opponent will get stuck), I observed that sometimes game sends me on a different quest than I picked up, which is extremely annoying.

Btw does this game save when you close it?
Been playing it for a while now, and I want to take a break but I'm afraid to close it cause I haven't gotten all the achievements (And I'm a perfectionist on very specific things) and so I'm wondering if it saves. Cause idk
(Just been keeping it open with a different tab pulled up just incase)

@Hommeldraak surrounded by water, or surrounded by water + other objects? Cause you should find, you can pass through pretty much any other object (Trees, the portal, etc)

The concept is great, But it could really use some polishing. Fixing up the pathfinding so your party doesn't get stuck would be a big one. Since this has a strategic design with party building it may also be worth giving characters formation priority, and skills activated by the player (Or automatically by the AI party members) to enhance the experience. Adding a *Level up all* button would be convenient, so I don't have to individually click each one to level them up. All in all, I think this could be really good with a little bit of work, I'd love to see an unlockable story too. Thanks for reading my comment! -Cerioth

Wow, this game came out 8 1/2 years ago. A was an okay game back then, and now it's been improved enough to be on home consoles.

First mission - tutorial. Second Mission - The Apprentice... Who got stuck on the edge of the map with my team of 3 mages and an apprentice. Gratuitous abuse ensued!

Not a terrible game. It has potential, the idea is somewhat new, but lots of little issues that make the game not very fun. The biggest issue is that it's pretty much completely menu driven. If I want to level up a character multiple times, I can't just click repeatedly, I have to click somewhere, then on another place and back and forth. The path scripting could use work, maybe even something more than "STRAIGHT FROM POINT A TO POINT B". made it kind of frustrating to get around obstacles. The graphics are pretty samey, could use some new character designs. Some better quest randomization (Having 3 of the same 'quest' kind of sucks). Quests that scale with your party level in some fashion would be nice. tl:dr; Game has a good idea, but needs a lot of polish to make it more fun.

Very fun. I love some original elements from this arc as well as the story improvements in the second one. Great fuel for stories and role play :)

couldn't navigate the first level without party members constantly getting caught on the environment and having to go back again and again and again...

unfortunately, i can't say any game that spends over half my time navigating menus... scratch that, probably 90% of my time navigating menus, at least, ain't much fun. it just feels like more RPG Maker bloat. it's an interesting premise, and i hate to see my Academy for Friendshmadamy fail to blossom, but it just isn't good enough to keep riding this wagon.

Looks like a fun game, but I'm getting way too much delay between actual mouse movement and accompanying in-game cursor movement for me to want to continue playing it. Think I'll go for Saturday's BoTD instead...

Top comments are really valuable, give those a read if you're after the hard badge. Females are OP. I in particular really like the phy females in particular, the magilancers are extremely tanky and essentially have two seperate health pools, two seperate regen sources. Should be retiring your party once they get to 30. Should have a second, similar party around 10-15 by then though so you won't lose tournaments.

Not reading a tutorial to the point where you can't figure out that you can click to aim at a specific enemy is a silly reason to rate a game 1/5. This is by no means a 4 or 5 star game (I keep my rating at 3 only because of nostalgia), but come on, you can at least bother to look at the instruction box below the game to find the controls if you hate a bit of exposition that much.

The game didn't age that well, but it still works at least. The challenge is not so much using the intended mechanics as it is abusing the glitches more than they hurt you... The pathfinding was bad even in this game's time and my tip for players struggling with it would be to move across the screen to unlatch characters stuck on water. In general, mages shooting over bodies of water (especially sorceress and mirage caster - mag and dex classes respectively) are a very efficient, if cheap tactic. Errands are only worth doing if you aren't even close to succeeding in any hunts or none are available, because they give miserable amounts of LP (experience). Always have a magic unit on hand in case you run into the Apprentice (he's a single unit that randomly replaces a normal hunt and looks like the male beginner class). He's insanely powerful but can be abused by shooting him from across water for a few thousand LP, which can easily give upwards of 10 levels to your team members.

if there was a game deserving of 5/5 stars, it definitely isnt this trash game. tutorial has too many words to read; im trying to play a game, not a novel. i dont know why the tutorial tries to explain a lot of things when there are only two things you need to know: point and click to do everything and you randomly do damage to enemies around you. it sucks that my ai-controlled allies can get stuck on terrain... i cant fathom a way anyone can legitimately rate this "game" a 5/5. 100% 1/5 game you cant change that.

I actually really enjoyed this game. The combat really isn't hard at all, and wasn't laggy for me. I even got the hard badge on my first run through! Probably a 5/5 game to me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
pretty bad tbh, punished for bad design by losing mana when the horrible ai gets stuck on every corner during battles
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
they should balance the male class and female class. Duelist and Dragoon should have higher chance (30% to evade and 20% to block)of activating the skill. Besides, it is very ridiculous for Gunslinger's attack weaker than mana scholar. At least, they should design a skill for him. Perhaps a crowd controlling skill to spreadshoot the foes.

When you get to month 11, but you read the LP requirement wrong, so you're 50 points behind requirement and get a warning. -_-

Ran into that invincible apprentice thingy. Ai was so bad it got stuck. Left 3 level 1 magischolars attacking it and went to town. Came back an hour ish later and its still not dead.

I'm just going to leave my students here... to attack the Apprentice... who apparently can't do any long range attacks...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i think the hunting minigame is highly boring you just conduct the student to the enemy let them fight and that it might as well not have that
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
so whats with the single invincible apprentice who randomly spawns on hunts instead of the designated monsters? occasionally it pops up and ive had it walk through a team of level 30s. the hell is that noise.
