Here's a strategy I found here:
Remove all hit cards except for trojan horse, wain, ambush, and archer. Put all of those at 5 except archer, which can be 3 or 4. He'll have a huge wall after a few turns, so the direct damage cards will be pointless, but keep archer in to get rid of magic shields. Recruit, mage, and builder, and all of the add material cards should be at 5. I'd advise having all remove material cards set at 0 since he usually has a huge stockpile anyways. Have 4 or 5 magic weapons cards in for X2 attack. The rest of the stuff is up to you, though I'd advise not having too many build cards (despite the fact that I ended up winning by getting to 100 my first time, but that was because I hadn't set up my cards as much as I would've liked to.) Start by focusing on getting resources, using the add material cards to pay for production cards. Then try to use trojan horse with magic weapons on him, and finish him off with the other attack cards.

Its impossible to play as another tribe it seems. after i started off with like the scottish one i will call it i beat every single one. 0 losses. when i tried to do the others i couldnt even catch a break 1/5 sorry

I would be so, so happy if my decks from campaign would save so that I wouldn't have to make them all over again for multiplayer.

A tip for hard mode: Recreate your deck. Make it basically a building deck (i.e. very few attacking, a lot of building) and keep maybe 1 or 2 of any card that requires more than 10 of any resource, because unless you're lucky enough to not have the AI use "Kill Recruit/Builder/Mage" you prolly won't have a lot of resources. Stick with small attacks (Platoon is amazing) and get rid of brick based attacks (Catapult, Battering Ram). Just work on a wall (roughly 15-20) and expand until you win. Also, make your you recreate the deck so you have 5 of each of the following: Builder, Mage, Recruit, All Weapons, All Bricks, All Crystals, Add Crystals, Add Bricks, Add Weapons. They will help tremendously. And scrap Spy and Sabotage (sp?). They are useless in Hard mode. Hope this helps!!

I've noticed some serious problems with the AI, they use Sabotage to get rid of trivial cards (Like an Archer) when I have something big that I can use on my next turn to kill them. They also commonly use Sacrifice cards when I only have one of that unit, wasting their own units for nothing.

I don't usually comment on games, but this is one is horrifically unbalanced on hard. Based entirely on luck. To win you need a long-term strategy that can be entirely thwarted in one turn by the enemy. Very hard to build up resources. Also, the creator doesn't seem to care to address the problems with multiplayer drop-outs. Hard to rate this above a 2 as it has stepped backwards from the first game in all but graphics.

I love how I was losing on the hard campaign and then when I turned the game around and was back on the offensive the AI refused to do his turn. What a dick. :)

You should encrypt key number & card number in the SOL file, this is easy to edit and make a way to transfer key/card/deck between computer.

Hard campaign isn't that difficult if you build your deck well and play precise. Still there is some luck involved, but that is the game.

@Teillu: multi-player is loaded from mochiads.com so if you use some kind of adblockertry turning it off and see if it solves your problem

i absolutely had no problem with hard campaign, only lost once... but i tried to build the 100 storey castle, not to raze the enemy castle

Why on earth do some of the "Asian" castles have "yoghurt" written all over them? That does not in any way make sense.

I played with a good deck of both attack and defence no special specs AND I WON HARD CAMPAIN EASYILY! it's al about luck in the end :) .. well one battle I won with 1 life left (exactly 1) and others I won just due to magic wepons then ambush or horsy! I felt better for winning via DESTROYING!!! yeahhh

wow. like two million people commented on castle wars 1 that quits should count as losses, and you didn't agree. therefore, i cannot give anything above 1/5 for not listening to people's feedback AT ALL.

Here are my tips to win each campaign: EASY is obviously easy to win, no tips required; MEDIUM I have found using "building" cards and reach 100 most effective to win, have all your tower building and wall building cards along with crystals and bricks card, no weapons card at all; HARD I have found max out trojan horse cards + add 8 weapons, weapons special, as you need to build up 20 weapons (but you already have enough bricks), the attack on castle bypassing wall is perfect for a 30HP castle... having said all this, you'll need to reset it until you start off with a trojan horse, an add weapon card, and relying on your opponent not to build the castle. Hope this helps

The origoinal was far more intuitive. Too much effort on flashy graphics and too much game play lost. Go back to version 1 and upgrade its graphics for a better game.

rofl so ridiculous how the last one your 'luck' goes away
i just get walls, magic weapons and recruits... the boss get all the fcking destructive things

The key to winning the Hard campaign seems to be getting a deck formed entirely around building your own castle to get to 100 and win that way. After trying that approach, it only took me a few tries to beat each level, and I beat the last on my first try. No attack cards, the only cards requiring weapons being Guards, Thief, and a few Recruits.

alright, so to win in this game, all you need is a small deck with mostly cheap items and either try to kill off your opponent or grow exponentially fast without them being able to stop you. both require quite a few builders/mages/recruitments, and if you start a game in hard mode without and of those in your, restart that round. don't try to kill off your opponent and grow fast, choose one or the other.

It would be a better game if you got to go inside your castle, control your troops for better outcomes, and there was still cards just to be awesome. That would be a total wo0t.

Magic weapons + ambush = most of my wins. Great game, much better graphics than the last. Still as good as the last one.
