dude he should add a couple of new cards or maybe a new mode like a sea mode with boats to attack with or at least add a couple of upgrades

Great game like the first one, though I think I like the first one a bit better. After a while I got use to the interface and it was fine but at first it was a bit confusing. The game was an appropriate difficulty, beat the campaign in order (easy, medium, hard) in about an hour or so though with my adapted custom deck and strategy that I used in the first one. I also love the Practice feature, good way to test my skills against harder and harder opponents without having to worry about my rank going down from losing. It needs badges though!

A slight let down. The first is better than Magic the Gathering, and while this updates the awesome, awesome rules succesfully, it is not only uglier, but also slower and clumsier to play and stats are harder to see! The first game looked even more amateurish, but it was endearing and personal and it showed everything very clearly. :( My suggestion: scrap the awkward everyman flash-game looks and hunt for simpler and more efficient board game looks and hire some poor(but good) artist drawing the next game. I also didn't like the campaigns structure. I'm still left for waiting for even further sequel. Nevertheless, Castle Wars series is my favorite card game, easily beating MTG and such. Awesome rules!!!

mattrimx said "So, I'm on the last battle, about to win, and I think I made the enemy run out of cards, and it froze. Anyone else experience this?" The exact same thing just happened to me. Oh well. Time to restart yet again. Bugs made me lower the rating.

Warning, multiplayer is not allowed on Kongregate, so if you want to get access all the extra cards don't bother doing it here.

Hard mode is completely doable if you customize your deck. You just won't win every game, hence the name hard mode. If you did win every time it would be called boring mode.
Multiplayer not available on Kong is disappointing.

Layout of the resource counter should be color coded, resources grouped together and workers grouped together. Then not mirrored on the enemy's side. The way it's layed out now, even after playing for a couple of hours I still have a hard time figuring out what's what.

for those who are having difficulty with hard...plan out ur deck in the deck manager. most of the cards are unlocked from the very beginning. build your deck with only attacking cards and focus on, trojan+magic weapon = 60 castle damage, focus on using weapon cards but also use magic and building cards. or try only defence cards with "magic defence" if your opponent is playing strong cards like trojan or dragon on you. pixies, tower, and tavern should build you up to 100 castle for a win. for a defence deck, the only attack cards you should have are thief and recruit. thief = great resources and slows down the opponent

Just using the starting deck, the difficulty something like triples when you go to medium difficulty.
Sure, you could spend some time building up a better deck to use, but it still seems a bit unbalanced.

Whats with the massive difficulty jump from easy to medium???
If you start without and recruit cards its pretty much game over straight away!

I can't help but wish that this sequel had more gameplay innovations and fewer interface innovations. For one thing, the old interface worked fine and was easier to understand than this one. For another, aside from the campaign I see little reason to play this game in place of the original, as the few card changes don't do much for the overall feel imho.

its so unfortunate that this game had to get worse, it is just the same game with a worse user interface. this makes me sad

I liked the first one and this one is a step or two better, at least looks nicer. It's simple to learn and get into. Easy to understand and play. Gameplay is good, but it would be nice if there were some sort of challenges as the level goes on. I know I started with easy, but nothing really changed from the first map to the Foozle. Aside from the looks of the castles, but otherwise, nothing new each level. I'll go try the medium next, but... more variety would be cool. 4/5

"When will multiplayer be available at kong?" Maybe never. It takes more time to remove the feature then let it in the game. They do that to get traffic on their website

When it came to the enemy's turn in a practice session he is not discarding nor choosing to use a card so the game is stuck since the computer wont make a move, I have a feeling its because the computer has cards it wont discard and it doesn't have enough resources to use the cards it wants to use.

Trojan horse seems a bit overpowered, no card should do that much damage directly to a castle for the requirements it has. I think it needs to be 25 bricks and 20 weapons instead of what it is now.

My only gripe is that multi-player progress is saved on the computer itself, not the game server... It's a little annoying... +1 if you agree...

Part4: What i forgot to mention: You have to finish Easy and Middle Campaign first to get the Kill Cards (i got Kill Builder and Kill Recruit in Easy/Middle and then i started the Hard Campaign and earned there Kill Mage). It´s pretty hard without these Kill cards.

Campaign Hard, It's like playing someone who has infinite resources, some tips, do not use and enemy resource removing cards, they already have a stockpile and will no do anything, try to make a lot of recruits, mage, builders in a faster rate than the AI's sacrifice cards, you probably can't go in a faster rate, but try to spam it all at once, meaning stockpile and put like 2 builders on. Third tip, do NOT use certain cards, especially if they are not the resources worth. I believe the bomb, large wall and some others are very resource wise cards. Last tip, always have an archer handy, they are cheap resource and they destroy the annoying "magic defense" card effect without you losing many resources/turns. I hope this helps, and try to plus so others can read it.

@Andoluin
I do owe licenses to all the music used in this game, so no i can't get sued. All the music from 7 kingdoms are available as royaltyfree music that anyone can buy a license to so this is far from stealing.

As others have said the hard mode is ridiculously unbalanced. With high starting resources the computer can easily mop you up with a couple of dragons or curses.

Ok well after a few minutes of playing this game it feels as if the creator is just making a duplicate of the prequel but just adding more animations and a better campaign. I was expecting a lots of new cards but as far as I have seen so far they had just added a few. The interface is a bit confusing as well, people who haven't played the first game might not know what they are or what they do, I don't know but I like the simplicity of the first Castle Wars better. 4/5 cause the first game was good :P

Easiest hard badge ever, haven't lost a single battle, take my deck and win by getting your castle to 100. keep wall up, use thieves whenever u get at least 16 resources only use ambush when necessary, otherwise discard.
- 5 ambush - 5 thief - 5 guards - 4 mages - 5 pixies - 5 magic wall - 5 add weapons - 5 add bricks - 5 add crystals - 5 house - 5 tower - 5 tavern - 5 large wall - 5 reverse
_____ Enjoy your 30 points!

Great game series! Hints: Discard any inefficient cards from your deck. Use Kill Builder and any cards recruits. The guards and fence cost only 0,5 units, use 5 of each in your deckBuilder and combine with Reverse cards. use magic weapon just before a Lightning, quake or dragon, ambush attack an you will win with ease. have fun

On hard mode, got to the last castle on the first map(not sure if there's more..) and I for once was about to win, and now the bot won't take his god damn turn. What the eff is that all about...

Part2:
- You dont have any direct attacks, only Wain and Ambush (+1 Magic Weapons) to keep the enemys castle down.
- Your aim is to get a good economy while breaking the enemy´s economy.
- Restart the game until you have enough ressource producers (Builder etc.) and add XX cards (add bricks etc.)
- Try playing as much ressource-producers as you can while crushing the enemys ressource producers with kill cards
- Try getting enough weapons for Thief, its one of the best cards ingame, gets you even more ressources than it costs
- Dont bother much for castle/wall at the beginning, if you get killed you can just restart, you need ressource-producers
- If you dont suceed in getting an economy fast or your enemy keeps getting new producers, just restart the game
- Continue in Part3
