Under rating threshold (show) At vampwhisper The particles can be turned off if you want to, and I agree I want something like the top 500 back

+ - !

Developer response from master_machines

I've added a 'Top 500' button.

Under rating threshold (show) Search is a bit annoying. It doesn't seem to list the most popular searched for bands with common names at the top. Sometimes not at all. It didn't know Ludo... The previous one's search worked just like Youtube, and listed the bands I wanted rather close to the top even if I wasn't logged in for the user preferences to kick in. Great that I can pick individual songs now, so I'm not getting duplicates. I'd like to preview them first however... A problem I had with the last one was that I'd get fan vids instead of the song. I like the particles but they hurt my eyes after a bit. Can we get the option to change the color set at least and possibly make them stop moving? They get distracting, but they're better than the plain background. Other than my nitpicking, amazing work.

Under rating threshold (show) I noticed that the menu bard changed in appearance with this update... it their any particular reasoning behind that?

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from master_machines

I didn't specifically modify the appearance, but every browser interprets HTML differently, so maybe you changed browsers or your browser had an update.

Under rating threshold (show) Well... seems like it would be cool, but after I've picked some songs, and tried to play them... nothing happens.

Please submit a bug report with more detail about the setup such as browser and operating system.

Under rating threshold (show) First of all i would like to say great job! I've been using Music Quest for a while and this is a really good update. The only thing that bothers me is that i usually use the feeling-lucky list to discover new bands. I would love to be able to listen to the songs before i add them to my playlist instead of adding countless songs to my playlist and delete the ones i dislike.

+ - !

Developer response from master_machines

Good point. I added this functionality, though it is only accessible if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel.

Under rating threshold (show) Is html5 better than flash?

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from master_machines

Depends. It's a little less hardware intensive but their HTML player is still in beta and has a couple bugs. So it's a trade off I guess.

master_machines

Feb. 16, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Fun fact: If you opt in to the HTML5 beta that youtube has then MusicQuest's videos will be in HTML5 instead of flash! http://www.youtube.com/html5

Under rating threshold (show) Hmm, is it possible to add a direct youtube search? Because I keep searching for something by name and getting remixes of it, for... some reason. Several things, in fact--I know they HAVE a lot of remixes, but to never get the originals? Seriously? O_o

Feb. 12, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Nice work with adding more changes. Although I still wish there were more keyboard controls, and that I'm feeling lucky (if it is indeed the top 1000 songs) is completely random, and that there's a top 1000 option which is not random (or you could stick with 500 like the pro version)

Feb. 12, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) I've disabled the mini game. You can still interact with the circles if you want (but the collision detection will be worse). MusicQuest 2 should now work in Internet Explorer 9 and Safari!

+ - !

(29)

Developer response from master_machines

Performance should be boosted across all browsers as well!

cmaissomeone

Feb. 11, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) There is a slight problem... In some songs (Ie. Locked Out of Heaven) their is a timed annotation at the beginning (It pauses the song for a moment) also annotations appear throughout the song... could you program it so it automatically turns on the hide annotation button....

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from master_machines

Should automatically disable annotations from now on.

Under rating threshold (show) is this just a flash wrapper around audioscrobbler's YouTube gateway?

No. This is coded in Javascript and HTML5, the only flash is the youtube player.

Under rating threshold (show) Since the playlist repeats automatically, the scrolling should be cyclic like in MusicQuest Pro, ie the first song should appear below the last one and I should be able to scroll down to it once the playlist starts repeating. As it is, I have to scroll all the way up again.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from master_machines

Playlist scrolling now functions this way.

Feb. 06, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Oh that would explain it. Didn't know about the scroll function cause I've been using a laptop lately, and disabled the scroll function cause it keeps on accidentaly activating

You can select songs in the "Playlist" tab. I think it may work in IE9 but your best bet is Chrome or Firefox.

Feb. 05, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) Better now that you can add all the songs from one genre (although I still wish their was a top 500 option) My other major problem is that I can't use the arrow keys to scroll through the list of songs, genres etc. (Clicking gets tedious) The button to click to scroll down is extremely small, and the position of the bottom scroll button changes enough the first time its clicked, that if you double click it you will just scroll down one and add one song

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from master_machines

You can scroll the playlists with your mouse wheel (or whichever method you use to scroll web pages). The "I'm feeling lucky" is the top 1000.

Feb. 05, 2013

Under rating threshold (show) One problem is with certain song names that are written in a different alphabet; these songs often don't play when their turn comes. You can still search for them and find them, or you can get them from a genre browse/search, and add them to your playlist, and save them on that playlist, but they won't play. (Interestingly, it was the other way around with MusicQuest Pro: you couldn't search for them, and if you got them on a genre playlist they wouldn't save on the playlist, but they would play).

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from master_machines

I wasn't encoding the youtube search, should be fixed now thanks. I didn't do extensive testing so let me know if there are still issues.
