I think you escape any legal liability with that youtube watermark on the videos. If that watermark wasnt there. The fact that you are making money could be a problem but I dont think it is a problem as long as its clearly represented where the vids are coming from.

Makes for a good player in the background while I am doing other things. Its better than the internet radio stations because occasionally you can look over and see a music video going as well. Linked this on my facebook page.

5/5 for being a cool youtube viewer. Not sure where the game is. I could care less about the exp features. If you added an idle-rpg type mode into the game it'd pretty much rock my socks off. where listening and gianing xp gives stuff. rather than faster ways to gain xp.

Uh, sarte, just writing down my opinion. Badge Master and Step Seq. are apps, not games and yet they end up on the front page. The second part, though, I have nothing to say because I absolutely have no opinion whatsoever on that. I firmly believe that MusicQuest Pro deserves to be on the front page, oh yes. :D

thank you so much for this game!! Ive always found it a little challenging to find and listen to new music on my own. But with this, any button i click on is great music! Not to mention i get that sense of accomplishment from leveling up. Thank you so much your time was not wasted!

I have a few problems with this app.
Firstly it isn't a game, so I fully understand kongregates reluctancy to show this on first page.
Secondly who is paying from the music that I'm playing? I doubt that the artists have just given permissions to play this music... My guess is that it is streamed without permission from another service, which makes this a sample of an app that makes legal services like spotify, pandora and last.fm suffer. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Good sir you are indeed wrong. Firstly, VEVO makes money from the ads that are on the youtube videos, this money is then distributed to the record labels and then the artists. Secondly, MusicQuest Pro is actually a game, the experience points, leveling system, and quests prove that.

Question: what if I've found song that does not belong to the certain artist, but the playlist still shows it as the one's song. Is there a way to inform about the fact, or mark for deletion from the general artist's playlist?
MusicQuest Pro uses last.fm for stuff like that, so if you go to their website and change the correct song then that should help. It's a bit time consuming, though.

This app is awesome. So awesome, it fixed my life. I used to spend hours upon hours searching for music that I liked. Now, all that is fixed, i find the music with a few clicks. That saves me at least an hour daily. It helped to pull myself out of depression. It is awesome, and I will do whatever I can to increase the developer's ad revenue. Can you make a checkbox in the game, that lets the game display ads in the bottom of the screen or something like that, if it's not against kong's rules?
Thanks benas, that means alot to me that it has helped you. That ad thing is indeed against Kong's rules. Right now the best way to help is to upvote that coment I posted so that others can see it as well.

@Blitz: I also use chrome and sometimes one song repeats and sometimes everything works fine. Must be a bug. When I choose genre/ year it is ok, when I filter songs or go for "similar" it doeas not work.

Love the program & really does deserve to be on the frontpage, though only issue I'm having which I can't pinpoint is that the songs will repeat continually, no matter if repeat is on or off. I wasn't sure if it's just isolated to me or particular thing I'm doing to cause it. I am using Chrome with the update to flash on it, in case that's any help.

I tried to load Steriotypes by You Favorite Martion and I had to wait 4ever. Then when it loaded it erased my playlist. WTF!!!!!
But I do love this game.

I made this game a Kongregate exclusive because I love community behind it, you supported me when other communities turned their backs on MusicQuest. Despite this, Kongregate admins continue to ignore me and deny MusicQuest the attention that it rightfully deserves on the frontpage. Why, you may ask, do I care so much about this? Firstly, MusicQuest means everything to me. Secondly, I wish to continue developing features on MusicQuest to make your experiences better. But without sufficient attention, I can't generate enough ad revenue to even pay for food. I will have to give up on MusicQuest...

Even if this doesn't win the monthly award, it should get an award of some kind. Not the best game on Kongregate, since it's more like an app, but it is fantastic and adds a lot to the website.
Impossible unfortunately. I did alot of audio analyzing with another game I made, Frequency, but it is impossible to analyze the audio of youtube videos. It's complicated :p

After giving Elite Quests a try, I think that their rewards should depend on time needed to finish them. Cause I'm getting same reward for listening to two and to five songs, and I could run Elite Quest twice, get x2 or x3 songs, and end with more experience :)
One of the points of the patience quest was that there is supposed to be a "jackpot" element to it, so you will be lucky if you get a listen 2x or unlucky if you get a listen 5x.
EDIT: But, I think giving rewards based on time required to complete, as well as difficulty, is a great idea.

One complaint. When I am listening to The Beatles and I want to add some Who songs to the playlist, what do I get. A couple of who songs and a SHITLOAD of crap I didn't want!

Only problem I have with this is when people, such as me, you have very basic knowledge of a genres 'true' name, it is very hard to find the correct type, for example, I want bass techno, search techno directly on Youtube and I get what I want, search it 'directly' here and I get some old style boring stuff.
After doing a quick search, I can confirm that "bass techno" is not actually a genre. Please see this article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_electronic_music_genres. You can try a search for "techno dnb" or "dnb", which should return some good results.

It may have been suggested already, but maybe the quests should be clickable, such that you're automatically taken to whatever type of music or artist automatically. (Side note, amazing amazing job I love this thing)

needs some way to thumb up the song in the game, since it directly links youtube songs it might as well give the option to thumb up the songs so the original uploaders get something out of it too.

I liked it when it was on Newgrounds but now that itäs on Kong, I love it more.. But I have a problem.. It repeats the song even when I have it on and off.
