I don't know thy people claim ninja is unresponsive, he seems perfectly fine - the actual problem is much slower framerate compared to standalone version, which I guess was unavoidable.

N, N+, etc are GREAT games, but this version seems VERY sluggish on the controls. The animation doesn't seem off, it is just that he doesn't respond as quickly as he does in the PC version

People complaining about the "slugish" controls, they have always been like that, also, that just adds some real difficulty to the game!

I can't believe all the top comments.
C'mon guys, is the game from our infancy, lets just give it a 5stars and blame it a lot because you can't get a level passed.

When I started, it seemed really odd how slow he moves for a ninja.
Then I read the comments; looks like I'm not the only one that noticed that.

strangely the lag issue is fixed by running another fullscreen game minimised in the background.
Overall the level design doesn't seem quite as inspired as N+. Got a little tired of the generously used 'get the key than back again' theme. But still an excellent game that would probably be much better rated if not for the excellence of its predecessor.

I played this game on some random online game site, I'm so freakin' happy to see this on kongregate! Especially that Z for jump if finally can be modified :) (qwertz keyboard, it's not so conforting to jump with Z )

This is way easier than all those super hard platformers like super meat boy and stuff, don't know why people are complaining about the difficulty O_o I mean it's pretty hard for me, but the others are completely out of my league

I give up. Don't usually do that so easily, but this is just too hard. Great concept & of course there should be a degree of challenge, but this is WAY over my capabilities. :-(

that didn't help at all castlevania :( no matter what i do by the time i get to the end of the skinny part, the rocket is too close for me to slow down and jump over it. if i dont slow down, i hit the roof and cant go over it.
ive had a little success by just not jumping and ducking under it..works 50% of the time. but i end up dieing each time anyways right after to another rocket

There seems to be no way to submit highscores in this version. I encourage everyone to get the downloadable version at http://www.metanetsoftware.com/ so you can compete in the highscore list.

@Stealth, I hope this helps: http://imgur.com/9tG9zk0
Green is where you jump, hug the blue lines, avoid everything red, and try to follow the black path. Wait a short moment at the bump before the launcher, but the rest should be done in a smooth motion. The section at the left is improvised, I did not test whether that's the best way to scale the wall. I hope it helps!

Yea I'm on 99-4 right now, I got to the last bottom part. But I can't figure out how to get near the rocket spawn without getting hit on that last bump

Nadavv, sorry, no screenshots at the moment. Is that the level where you start by walking on that enemy over all the mines? If so, it is relatively easy to get the two chasing drones to move to the area with the first 4 locks. After doing that, the rest should be straightforward (you can also lure the third drone out of its area if its bugging you).
@Crocodileman: I remembered that being the case in the first N, but I believe that this one has a set colour for each column. Originally, I did the tenth column 5th (to help nadavv), and got black. I now did the second column on a clean save, and got pink. But thank you for telling me the colours of the bonus columns!

Ian, that part is annoying. You have to basically jump into the thin part, stand at the left side of it, and then you can jump over the rocket. After jumping over it, jump up and towards the rocker launcher, and duck under the rocket while falling down into the right side.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
99-4..seriously, how do you get past the very top hallway? the skinny part makes it impossible to dodge the rockets, and there's no way to run through it before the rocket gets to you. has anyone done this?

@Castlevania1995: Actually, the colour you unlock is based on the amount of columns you've completed. For example: finishing 3 different columns unlocks Purple, and finishing 7 unlocks orange. Also, the bonus columns you complete unlocks a colour that's identical to the walls, and the second one unlocks a colour that's identical to the background (invisible, that is).

For those unaware, completing columns gives you new colours to choose in the settings screen. The colours are: 0-9=Dark red, 10-19=Pink, 20-29=Purple, 30-39=Blue, 40-49=Green, 50-59=Yellow, 60-69=Orange, 70-79=Brown, 80-89=White, 90-99=Dark Grey. Beating all 10 columns unlocks two additional columns filled with 100 user levels. These additional columns will likely also give colours as a reward, but I haven't beaten them yet.

Some games are better off not remade. Just duck to slide.. Oh.. Can't do that, oh yeah, this game is really old before pixels knew how to slide.. Wait a sec.. Mega Man could slide in the early 90's.. N stands for Nevermind these days.
