For the final boss the greatest advice is to pray and steal every rage, special, and attack. That's how i did it in 20 minutes of luck. The only issue is the stupid counterattacks. Basically just watch each enemy goes after specific pieces in order, so if you can find that order you can plan ahead, and maybe force a few moves ;) Basically good luck

That's so unfair! My bomb blew up the galaxy bonus thingy you get from the 6-hit combo! But great game anyway, it's my 3rd time beating it already.

FINAL BOSS SECRETS - It is often better to not move at all and let time tick down for your move.... sometimes
That way the final Squid Boss only uses up some crappy non-attack moves, and brings down some better gems for you to kick his arse with...
Plus this and keep this afloat if this helps you to defeat the Squid..

I've played both Ryu and Pixel and beat the final boss on my first try with both of them, Pixel only at 75% upgrades. Bit took a second try after upgrading a bit, but I won with full life. Just gotta be patient and play smart: go counter/defense if you're in threat of being smacked, go attack/magic if his defenses are down, otherwise charge up on energy/life/rage. You'll last long enough that eventually you'll get enough bombs and x5's to get him down.

Sometimes really, really look like just a luck game.
Fun fact with the final boss : supernova black hole on pink (counter) and some blue drops with. Now have 100% armor and 425% counter.
Final boss made Purple attack and Rage attack : I took 0, and counter 400 + 800.
Lucky ending.
Resuming this game in one sentence : "Sometimes, you win."

Great game you have here! Even though I beat the game with all 3 characters, I find myself coming back to play more. The problem I have is that I think you get too many gems for losing near the end. The boss isn't as hard as people say too... Just max out defense and use it! The boss will end up wasting all his energy for nothing. Replay value could be better, but it is so fun anyway! 5/5

too much luck based...I can see pattern and make obvious 2x or 3x combos, but then the CPU makes 6x with gems spawning...can't beat that...

By far the best match 3 game I've ever played! my only criticism would be that battles drag on for excessively long lengths of time! Other then that great game 5/5!

This game turned out to be a lot of fun. I wish there were more bosses and more upgrades. With the upgrades, I hope a second version of this game makes them appear to be more critical to defeating more and more powerful bosses. This version, it seems like skillful play wins out regardless of upgrades purchased. That was a little disappointing and frustrating, but the challenge it added made the game great as well... hope that makes sense. Thanks for the awesome game mochigames

SUCK IT SQUID!
I've never felt so much accomplished in defeating a boss and beating the game. this games sucked me into hating my life and having a direful hatred to squids. Being a college student i can now study knowing this evil entity finally pwned regardless of it super buffed stats. OH man still exasperated that this thing virtually AI can sucked my apples after 50 tries. in retrospect maybe it is i who is squid, only a fool.

A little tip that seemed to work for me was to learn when to make a move and when to let the timer run out, so the opponent is forced to make a bad or useless move. Sometimes allowing you a better move next time.
I had battled the final boss about 30 times or so and about 5 tries after using the strategy I just described I finally beat him. Hope this helps !

The only surefire way to beat the boss is to play defensively. Essentially, if you intentionally attack him you're doing it wrong. Your first priority every turn should be to try to find a defense gem match followed by a counter attack.

After playing this for a long while, I just figured out that the when you have 100% defense it does nothing against the enemy counter attack, found this out on that damn Octopus.

Beat final boss on first try, all upgrades at 3 except counter was 4 (max), didnt get any rainbows or bombs, only "lucky" thing i got was i raged on first turn after he regened into second phase.. he seemed intent on picking up all rage, energy and special attacks, while i proceeded to beat him with leftover normal attacks and counters

So three hearts dropped down.And ı should have gotten a Five Combo,But i didn't.The two hearts that were already there and the first heart that fell down combined to make a Three combo and then the other 2 hearts fell down,wasting my five combo =(

I echo LordBucket's comment. Great game, but I've spent nearly three hours trying to beat the boss with all my upgrades maxed out. I've lost interest and won't play anymore... pretty much a waste of time at this point. If that could be balanced out a little more, it would be a great game.

Yeah - the boss is too damn hard. I had to repeat an earlier baddie or two, but I've been plugging away at the boss for the better part of an hour, with everything maxed. 5/5 before I hit the boss, 3/5 now.

People having a hard time with the final boss simply lack strategy. You cant just move blocks around and expect to win. You have to think about how your move will affect the board, and what moves it will leave him. On top of maxing defense and using counter, don't miss opportunities to strike for "free", meaning he will have no attack recourse when the board drops after your move.
There are a lot of suggestions I could make, but mostly, THINK AHEAD.

In later rounds, concentrating on getting defense and counterattack combos will make things a looooot easier. The boss can deal higher damage than you, just build your defense so you take little to nothing from it and dish it back.

yay massive counter damage i win... wait wtf SOMEONE KILL THAT HACKING SQUID, NOT ENOUGH THAT I HAVE TO PUT UP WITH SOME STUPID DISTRACTING TENTACLE IN THE WAY, BUT I HAVE TO GO THROUGH A ROUND 2!!! AND I KEEP WHAT DAMAGE I HAD ON ME!!!

Save got erased two times so I beat the game in one sitting after that with the dog. No skill at all. The fights were incredibly reliant on RNG and it usually felt like I got unlucky too many times in a row. (Those damn 4x combos coming out of literally nowhere as 3 purple blocks fall down already aligned is one example) Besides that and the save issue it's a solid game.

The only reason I beat the octopus is that after many tries I had a briliant 6-move combo with 4 and 5-tile strings popping up everywhere.

An annoying timer for no real reason, luck-based battles, grind to do upgrades. Not a fun game for me. Used right-click on the game to 'pause' it so I could actually -look- at gems and possible combos, which the AI can do instantly.

This game is to luck based. I'm grinding the first enemy for gems so I can get the upgrades before moving on because I'm no longer trying to get the attack combos but just survive long enough for them to kill themselves with counters.

@ Lyokira , yeah, _IF_ you get Defense AND Counter. If you only get 1 of those 2, it's not really all that great. Why? Because you as the player have less than half his life bar. Your counter attack would have to be OVER 200% to make it worth doing just Counter. And the boss has infinite energy, so Defense by itself isn't great. (you can't energy drain him) So doing either of those alone, is not worth it. If you have high defense AND counter? Then yes. That's how I won the first time. But that's the exception. As a 99% rule, always get the purples/greys, and never let the enemy get them. @ Bob_stew So true. This game is pretty neat. I like it. You can wrangle the randomness like you said. Good observation. @ Localmusicians , no, the enemy cannot change gems on the screen to something that wasn't already there. You just missed seeing the gems.

First time against the final boss i knocked him out haha the trick is always go for 4 combo first so u get an extra turn on top of chains and then go after defense tiles, then go after counter tiles in that order that way your protected against all attacks and u have a chance to chain others like rage, health, energy.

The fact that you and your opponent both use the same board can be annoying, because you can't set things up for yourself. But at least if all the moves are bad moves you can skip your turn and force your foe to take the bad move instead.

Pretty amusing. I guess my heart was with the cards-erm I mean gems- with the last boss as it gave me such massive luck combos that the boss killed itself with all the def and reflect I had lol
