OMG. I wasted HOURS on this trash trying to get to run 2 because I thought maybe the "mana" runes were there. Thank you @KRMorben.

So I completed the 1st big objective to get 200 light runes and all I could do afterwards was reset it all, to start from scratch ... with NOTHING! And that got me an unbelievable 11 Magic Runes toward the easy badge. That took me about an hour with a clicker, that let me hit the reward button 10x instead of 1x (concentrating on buying Light Rune upgrades whenever they popped up).
I have no idea how much time I would need to invest for 100 Magic Runes, nor will I ever find out. Do forget to rate this!

There's also a weird, but helpful, bug where clicking any type of reward (whether from prestiging or the bonuses from finishing a run) can be applied multiple times if you click the button quickly enough before it disappears. The frame window is really short, and I could only get 2 presses out of it. Still, double the bonuses means less time spent on this less-than-mediocre game.

My strategy for the mid-game was grinding runs 1 and 2 until I could comfortably do run 3, and then grinding run 3 over and over. Eventually, run 3 took about 15 minutes to complete. I did run 4 occasionally, but the actual ROI compared to grinding run 3 was NOT worth it. When I was ready to tackle the hard badge requirement, I did run 4, and then I got a lucky roll into run 7. I never did any nature rune runs, but that might have been a mistake, idk. 200-300 rune goal runs are eventually quick (15 minutes), 400 rune goal runs are long (1+ hour), and 500 rune goal runs are extremely long (1 week+).

I finally got the hard badge. This should have been an impossible badge, or the requirement should have been far lower. That took way too long. Over a month, easily, with some dedicated grinding sessions. As other people have said, this game has scaling issues. The first runs take a long, long time, and then they start getting faster. Focus on "gain X% more mana from Y runes" and then cost/income prestige. I finished the hard badge on the 500 Deep Runes run, and my end bonuses were about 2k% in both income/cost prestige, and about 3500% in all rune income for the first 4 runes. Never playing this game again.

If you only upgrade Magic and Fire runes, after a couple prestiges don't even unlock Earth, prestige with 50 Fire runes and your only upgrade choices will be Magic and Fire. Upgrade only Fire until you get to about 2000% and you can start getting 50 Earth to prestige. Upgrade Fire and Earth, get Automation, and prestiges will start happening in seconds.

To get the Easy badge, I had to go to "Settings" and then "Save Game" when I had 100 Magic Runes. It only counted the progress of that badge when I hit Save Game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Easy Badge is wrong, it only counts the Magic Runes and not all Mana Runes... also I found I had to go into settings and save the game before the badge would register how many I had

The 'Upgrades' tag I'll grant you, but it's not much of an 'Idle' game when the player has to constantly adjust the levels. If there's auto-buyers for upgrades and prestige, they're late to the party.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Are there "mana runes" further into the game or the easy badge is misspelled and you are supposed to get 100 "magic runes" instead?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I just found out: Clicking on the "Auto Prestige" goal on the right lets you quickly activate and deactivate auto prestiging. Before, I thought you always had to go through the automation submenus.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Scaling is too high and removes any idle component from the game. Weeks of active managing the runes, and it still can't complete the objective.

Afte getting five different rune upgrades, autobuy upgrades start to appear. Automate the first two runes, turn autoprestige on and enjoy the view. :)
Then add the third. Fourth. Etc.

Heres a tip: if youre trying to get that one specific thing like say, the cost reduction for something specific, if the game doesnt let you, just reload

I found that 200starting mana is the best "end run bonus". But this is not so much of an idle game for the 1 10-20min until u get enough bonus for white and red runes, then u use auto prestige, and get auto buy runes, finally u can sit back and watch it do things itself, and at some point(1sec prestige ) progress with the next rune and increase the prestige to 50 red runes and so on.
At the start of every new run, my strategy is to get red runes to 25, then just spam white to 50 and prestige, choose 125%income for red runes, then -cost for white. Keep getting These 2+a few -cost for red, after a few times, can get a few white income, then u should be able to auto prestige at 50 white and let random bonus do for u, when u see red runes auto buy pass 40, can change auto prestige to 50 red, until u get 1 sec prestige. Let it run for a bit more, then buy next rune(green) until auto buy green,and so on.

The maximum offline bonus is for 48 hours. That's 172,800 or 1.73e5 seconds. So if your mana gain is "fives 'e's less" than the "Next" cost for 500 Water runes, just close the game and come back two days later. - - - - For example, my situation now: gain is 6.38e28/s and 500 Water runes costs 4.05e33 (500 Deep Runes run, Water Rune costs prestige at 2.5e19).

I realized something... what is considered the recommended level on income/cost prestige before you begin to move on from earlier runs?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To start fast, buy as many basic magic rune upgrades as fast as possible. When you collect ten of both, you get a prestige every ten seconds.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@fakezero I disagree with you, because higher runs give a chance of better rewards. While on runs 0-2 you get upgrades for Magic and Fire runes, on run #5 you get upgrades even for Light runes, and the reward you get is higher too. You need to grind lower runs at first, yes, but at some point you get to do runs #3 at almost the same speed as #2, so why repeat #2 then? At some point I began doing runs #4 and 5 without trouble, so I didn't lower myself to #3 or lower, it didn't make sense for me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
doing anything more than occult200 runs isn't really worth it, the rewards from doing more difficult runs aren't worth the efforts needed...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
can we have the option of disabling the follower thing when prestiging? when we are doing repeated lower runs to get past a wall, it just makes us have 2 options instead of 3.

It is really a time-consuming active game with elements of automation and idle, but playing it manually is much more efficient than using the automation. I reached hard badge from 0 in 6 days of playing.
Tips for players:
- don't rush into higher levels of runs, grind lowest first at least 10 times for stacking some early bonuses;
- if your run takes a lot of time - abort it, begin a new easier one;
- prioritize runes mana income bonus over prestige income bonus, they really make a difference, the later you go in game the more difference it makes!
- reaching lvl 200/300/400/etc of a new type of rune is easier and more rewarding than reaching the same number of a previous rune;
- I was able to get 500 water runes safely and without frustration on run #7 "Reach 500 deep runes".

I haven't got 500 water runes yet this time (my old progress was wiped out a day or so before badges), but it shows I got 141 water runes, yet I've gotten more than that with no update in the count
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@BoinkySiwinski: How did you manage to get to 500 water runes? I did a 000 run and a 002 run, and now I am deep in a 004 run (~360 water runes), but progress has slowed down dramatically. Did you do more low-level runs for additionals bonuses?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@prong that hapens when you complete the final goal and move on with a new run. did you pick some other bonus? that should carry with you even after you complete another run.
