Seriously, I did the first 5 (Original) tuts and then discovered, that AS3
is at least 50% faster, making it totally retarded to learn AS2 now.
So I switched to those tutorials, which
are great btw.
And seriously, for all the retards flaming this. Do you really think
Kongregate would leave them online
if they were done without permission? Oo

Adobe is quite aggressive about having Flash users switching over to AS3. These shootorials are thus... a long wanted blessing. Use them... and appreciate them.

These tutorials are great. Well written, in a language anyone can understand, covering the basics you need to write interactive code with no messing around. Now in AS3 version as well. Awesome!

I'm not sure what part of the sentence "Made with permission from Kongregate" you guys don't understand... If it is true then this is Ok... can someone from Kong clear it up... anyways update was needed to AS3.

In another thread I saw that educational institutions can get the fla files for these tuts (not the ones made from them) from Kongregate and that Moly did so for the AS3 version. Therefore, I assume that she had permission to do this.

All the screen shots are changed, and the text is altered, I went through the first 4 of the one for AS 2.0 and am on these they are different and you shouldn't jump to conclusions.

This tutorial is really good! Really helped me to understand the basics. I'm having one problem with the background, instead of scrolling, it's flashing. The code is exactly the same as in the tutorial. It worked until the enemy ships got added. Can anyone work out what's wrong?

my if statement wont work! it bypasses the if and just straight away aets the backgrounds position!

P.S. I am making a vertical scrolling shooter not a side scrolling

So 99.99% of it isnt the same ? was any credit given to kongregate ? Will he try and reap Ad Revinue for No effort ? Is anything in it orignal From his creation ? Wait NOO its not. He added small amounts of text, at most. Its Stolen in my opinion.

If it's as3 version, at least give it a different name to clear up the confusion. I'm flagging this anyways, and like said before, absolutely no credit was given to Kong, who made these originally.
