Under rating threshold (show) Would be nice to know if tech on different planets add up together or not, and why some buildings cannot be constructed on new planets (or is that a bug?), reminds me a lot of the original Master of Orion :D

the tech that adds up has the 'stacked' boxes icon on the tech bar. the overview of stackable tech is in your commander journal. make sure you have credits, they are universal and not planet specific.

Under rating threshold (show) Every now and then the construction of ships will get stuck. I can keep spending money on them, but they don't actually construct. They just cost and add up in the building queue. But the cooldown meter of the construction process just stays at 0%. Cool game otherwise.

Under rating threshold (show) My fleet wasn't low on health when these fighters popped out and started shooting. Unless you mean something else, but still, isn't it weird if 5 basic fighters murder 15 out of 50 advanced destroyers?

no, thats not right, im on it now. (EDIT) i currently have the autobuild code nested in the planetRefresh for the selected planet. im moving it into the planetsCalc function right now.

Under rating threshold (show) @Retry For ships, Frigate is actually a somewhat armored freighter, they do have some hull to transport things but they also have weapons. About the others, it goes that way Battleship>cruiser>destroyer More ships could be nice, like more freighters that could transport more resources and more endgame combat ships like dreadnoughts and such. Damn did I tell you that music in this game reminds me of the MMO I used to play for 8 years and then I got perma banned on all accounts for saying "dildo"?

Under rating threshold (show) Ya know... the names of the ships should correspond with their roles. Actual cruisers are larger capital-sized ships that are quite capable ship-vs.-ship. That's nothing like an enhanced bomber. In fact, they're larger than actual destroyers, which apparently are stronger than cruisers in this game. Actual frigates are supposed to destroy fighters and escort capital ships, etc etc.

so frigate should say transport, and cruiser, heavy bomber? (edit) for those who think this is a trivial request, if 1 person is confused about it, so are a bunch of others... they just don't post about it. this wont be on the top of my list, but ill get around to it.

Under rating threshold (show) This game could be a great strategy. And it definitely will be, but :) As for now there are at least two bugs, breaking some levels. They occur on a replayed level, when some conditions at previous session close are fulfilled. Up to now I found: building or tech being built or researched - it is blocked on replay until cancel button is pressed. Ships, that are initially in hangar, being en route - on restart they fly long way from nowhere, being not at disposal for long time.

Under rating threshold (show) By the way, add up to 3 or more teams on a certain map. Cause i'm sorta tired of soloing it. Once multi-player is implemented, add a leaderboard too.

Under rating threshold (show) Add add Long-Range missiles(LRM)s to the game. So that it can travel between planets and bombard them with longer range than fleets. Each missile can be equip with a regular cluster bomb, or a shield killing fusion bomb or toxic warheads to devastate population or simply contaminate your enemies nearby planets. Add carriers too since the range is hard to get to your opponent without using tons of research of lvl.10 and etc. So the ships could fit in Long range carriers that transport ships like mega carriers.

planetary missiles... you build them like you wouls a ship, they have long range and are launched and travel like a ship, but when arriving, boom. dead colonists. perhaps they can be specialized for populations, fleets, or even structures. gonna chew this one for a bit.

Under rating threshold (show) damn dude. ive been trying various ways of beating a hard in the editor.. a single hard enemy on a volcanic, toxic size 10 planet can out produce 5 warm jungle size 100 planets?? im going to need a new tactic :D

Under rating threshold (show) yeah man, i like where this is going. ive only seen 1 other rts with an out of map profile, the 360 version of lotr. great idea! dont know why they removed it for pc. anyway, once your done working on the editor (another fav addition btw. if you can add multiple enemies and options for each it'd be sweet) i think you should expand on this rpg element. perhaps some lvls give bonuses... additional startup resources, passive crystal income gain, unlock a new ship?? or expand the medals, have medals for reaching benchmarks like 100 of the same ship in a single fleet, lvl 10 crystal income or engine research... or, once you've reached these benchmarks your profile 'learns' how to get back to them easier (making building a lvl 10 crystal cheaper for example) with some kind of diminishing return but always improving slightly with each completed map. then we can make some even harder maps in the editor ;) i'll always want more :D

Under rating threshold (show) That's pretty much ideas you're getting there now. I guess I won't be any use now cuz you've fixed most of these bugs already. But the game would really be more interesting if there was more action in it, at this moment max planets are 12, this is somewhat low IMO, but adding more enemy teams like 1v1v1v1 would be damn sexy to play when the game is free of bugs.

oooohh, i like that. barren planets that require u to off world harvest. u would have to use frigates to collect resources. that would make for a good campaign map.

Under rating threshold (show) If your facing hard opponents, first thing you should is to research colony ships and make them. While doing that, get social, farm, ecology, government and 4 levels of resource buildings. As soon as you finish get the colony ships out and start getting lots of scouts, then fighters so you can stop the first wave. After that get your third colony and start getting bombers and heavier shields. don't attack at all during this time. Your enemy probably gunna have several planets attacking all at once. Now get at least 200 bombers and tons of fighters to attack one of the planets. Keep upgrading shields!!! The enemy will get so strong late game that they will attack you by thousands in strength(estimating, cause i never survived that long to see 2K). Keep researching as fast as possible. The amount of time to take on a hard opponent and kill it is about 2-5 hours(slow mode,) if your an average like me. You can shorten the time to 1hour if you turbo it.

i actually plan on doing campaigns, the code is already in the game for 'Mission Complete' I wanted to get the map editor going first so I can make maps easier. get ready, update in 30 minutes.

Under rating threshold (show) in the custom, create you mention.. can we be able to set the difficulty for each race? i'd like to start with a few easys, have med in the middle of the map holding back a single hard guy owning at the far end ... and work my way through em all :D also, does each race build tactically different? perhaps a tactics option too for each occupied planet.. steamroll, turtle etc. loving the game dude.

Under rating threshold (show) So, wtf happened to colony ship's price? It used to be like 5x cheaper, but now you can't afford it for f***, and the enemy colonizes planets just right after first attack on you. So, few mins after starting the game I'm stuck with one planet while the enemy has like 3 already.

Under rating threshold (show) Lovely addictive game, i didn't experience any bugs only pure joy. It reminds of an oldie i used to play on ega/vga .Diplomacy would be the next step but i imagine it's not easy to implement. Sill 5/5 thou, tanx for a great game!

Under rating threshold (show) - New scoringsystem ... hmm ... beating "Enemy Empire" on easy ... give me 7 (SEVEN!) points ^^ - minus production bug is sadly still there :( - speedmode on mainscreen is top ;) - another bug: my troops in front of my planet went to red troop icon(no incoming enemy), enemy is coming, nothing happens -> i have to land my ships and launch again to fight

you won't get much of a score on easy, especially if you take over 30 minutes or so to win, i will adjust the scoring so we can replace the old highscores with the new system as well. as for the phatom fleet bug, im on it. (EDIT) okay, i think i found the issue. Had to do with a hicup in the ACTIONS routine. Let me know if you see that happen again.

But still, there are a few really annoying things, like these random events, seriously, losing your whole research within seconds(yeah they're still way too often imo) due to a fire in labolatory? Do they store all these research in single books in a library and call it a labolatory? Dafuq man dafuq

you can turn off random events at the game start screen with no penalty to scoring since events can go both ways, good or bad. but i think they are a little to fast, i will turn down the frequency in which they occur.

Under rating threshold (show) It's certainly not a bad game, by any means. While I would still like to know or have some means of learning what the enemy is going to throw at me, that is merely preference, and a smart commander would say, "prepare for everything, even if they send nothing." Thus far you have done rather well. Although the game tends to be a long one, like really long, it's not that bad for it.

I added some helpful info on the INSTRUCTIONS page. I will be added 2 more maps that are skirmish mode maps, and a quickplay option on the main menu. Skirmish will offer the ability to start with a few planets and fleets. I want the skirmish mode to be tight and very strategic. (EDIT) So with 2 new maps, means 6 more medals, means 3 more skills. so im thinking a skill to see enemy fleet strength on the map could be 1 of them. taking suggestions for the other 2.

Under rating threshold (show) Some suggestions. Score should be scale with difficulty. Total score should be sum of highest scores for each map. The current total score is simply a sum of score you ever took (the more you play, the more score you got), which is not an accurate reflection of playing skill. Because the score is original an exp, developer may need to rethink what the "score" represent.

It definitely captures some of that great combination of simplicity while conveying a sense of building and managing a space empire. thanx man, in hind sight, i probably should have done most of these before releasing the game, but then again, i got lots of great feedback and suggestions that make the game better. today i will be posting another update with lots of UI polishing, and a more intuitive UI in some areas.
