@ekimekim: Thats not a valid solution for puzzle 8, is why it didnt accept it (fails row and col #3). The numbers do not simply count the total in each row or column they also tell you abou thte relative distribution. IE a '3' does not only mean 3 pixels in that row, it means 3 consecutive (that is how it is different than say a '1 1 1' or '1 2', etc).
I love picross puzzles and some of the 20x20 and 25x25 ones are quite challenging. I especially like the way the strategy alters slightly when you throw in two or more colours..

sometimes there is a bug showing all numbers greyed out though one field is missing (coloured fields mismatch with the number at the side)
after some experiments this bug can appear when a rank is completely filled, for example the row: 1 1 2 1 1 1 will be shown as ok when filled with x_x_xx_x_x
(x marking a filled field and _ the cross)
this is because the numbers are checked from both sides and greyed out as soon the number of fields are found.
so in case a row/column is completely filled the check must determine that blocks are missing.
but nevertheless it is an awesame game :) good work :)

I have just spend an hour in a 30x30 puzzle and have all the numbers turned off and dont win.... If the puzzle has more than one way of solving then you should change the way it says you win...

It was nice till I got to grand master levels.
If you can't see the whole board without panning around it shouldn't be there imho.

"Satisfying" a number can be done by placing crosses all over the row/column. So, even if you did not fill in all correct colours, it would seem like you finished the row if the remaining pieces are filled with crosses.

Good game but I agree about some of the problems (overlapping numbers, difficult to see the whole puzzle on later levels, etc. I also seem to have run into a bug where my puzzle won't finish. Is it possible to have satisfied all of the numbers and not be right? Happened to me on a couple of puzzles.

guys if u dun wan to be punished for clicking on the wrong tiles and get time added on, just go to options and go to free mode..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Good game, different modes allow you to play it for relaxation or a real challenge if you try to beat the times. Agree about it being difficult to see the numbers when they're on the field of play- something to hopefully address in a sequel? And as for tahsis- guys, just don't feed the troll, and push his comments off the page :)

Does need a colour blind option for, as seen below, people who do have the extremely common deficiency.
The addition of time stacking with amount of mistakes is a good idea but a few misclicks and you've found yourself with an extra 30mins on your time :S, needs reviewing, that feature.
@tahsis: English is spoken and written in many varying ways, your intolerance towards 'foreigners' is appauling.

Found a viable solution to lvl 8, it didn't recognise it:
10101
01000
00101
00000
10100
Nice concept but needs to be coded better.

Also for those idiots who complain about color blindness, first of all, for all you backwards British people, its COLOR, no goddamn U, I don't care about your minority dialect, this is an AMERICAN site. Secondly, think of blind people, how do they play these games? They don't, so shut up about how you can't play this ONE game.

great game. just finished the gryphon and was impressed with the detail in simple pixels. people who say the detail is crap haven't gotten past the apprentice or journeyman puzzles. 5/5 from me

i love the game but its not an original idea. you can find the same thing in puzzle books across the world and many other imitations on the web like Armor Picross

great game, but poorly designed... hurray for colour-blindness (or in my case, partial colour-blindness as I can't make out some colours) and that the numbers overlap the squares is also a shame, so I can't see the numbers sometimes... especially in the last mode... 2/5

fantastic game, in my opinion the only drawback is the poor resolution of the 50x50 puzzle.
Id like some badges for this game!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
5/5 very nice
Minor drawbacks: White color ;/ , the 50x50 puzzle - make a bigger frame or something, cause even with full zoom out i cant see the entire puzzle which makes it hard for me to think it over, also the overlapping numbers sometimes go mad...

This is a very cool logic puzzle type game. It kept me guessing but I was hoping perhaps for a bit more contrast as some of the others are as well. I will be playing this game for a good long while.

good concept but needs penalties and way more space for the larger ones. also would like way more puzzles. Better ones too. good game overall 4.

My eyes hurt.
I like the concept and the music is relaxing. But, I was hoping for puzzles with more colors. Also, the general layout of the game is cluttered considering there isn't enough space to see everything at the same time.

Most addictive and time consuming game here. It could be a bit more challenging however, with time limit and penalties.

Loose the silver color asap (readability is too low due to low contrast) and make the replace the jumpy numbers overlapping the cells and eachother top left by giving them a fixed position. Also make the lines of 5x5 blocks a little thicker. Counting in blocks of 5 is a pain in the buttox b/c low contrast

Super fun, but the Grandmaster ones become so hard to see! Also, I ended up skipping some because this game isn't so colorblind friendly.. :D

I've done all the puzzles through Master, none require guesswork. Some require the coin to get it started, and some require some complex logic and keeping track of restrictions from different rows and columns, but they are all solvable and quite fun. I agree with the complaints about the layout. Larger puzzles become cramped, but there's a lot of dead space used to make it look pretty. It would be nice if large puzzles took over more of the screen, instead of having to make everything so small.

I think this is a really fun game. The reason it doesnt have a higher ranking is because a lot of kongregate users don't have the brain power to play this. =(
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, I really wanna do the grandmaster ones but as soon as I start one I get put off by the horrible layout. Apart form taht I'm looking forward to some more pictures for this!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I retracted 2 stars because the grand master ones are REALLY badly made. Compounded by the terrible GUI, they are nearly impossible to do without going blind.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Need to expand the numbers so you can see the numbers and the whole grid. Once the grid starts getting filled in, numbers become VERY hard to see. Also need to stay away from hard to see colors/numbers
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you guys complaining about the guesswork - you know how to use the coin, right? If you carefully plan your use of the coin, they can all be solved using only logic. Well, I haven't done the last 6 of the grandmaster puzzles yet, but all the ones up till now I haven't had to guess on.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@sassymar - for the large puzzles, what I've been doing is zooming all the way out in the game, then using my browser to zoom in on the page.
