Given the lack of sophistication in the graphics, there is no reason why it should be so resource intensive on my brand new computer.

Love the game. The fights are a bit slow as the enemies go straight for the gate and are a bit easy. The story and just the feel between the fights is amazing. I really feel like I've fallen in love with this small group of survivors. Masterful work on the overall feel. Being able to strategise a bit more would be nice. As mentioned, placing soldiers would be nice as well as maybe towers? Just suggestions. It seems like you have it figured out tho with the next one that I'm more than anxiously waiting for. Great job!

After you sleep with Elvina the first time and talk to her again she says "I suspected you were not of this world, but any doubts I had I lost last night in the bedsheets last week." Last night in the bedsheets last week? Last night last week? What?

Tips to beat siege engines: For rams, prematurely drop mines (alot) in front of your gate where the ram comes through. Stun it to delay as long as possible. For the catapults, if there's only one, just use the arrow skill to kill it. If there's two, you can kill one with arrows, but the other should be taken out with mines, fireballs, and stunning. Catapults are more fragile than rams though, so it should be okay.
In general: If no more siege engines are coming, set mines right next to your gate, enemies will naturally move towards the center of the gate and blow themselves up. Teleporting is useful when dealing with catapults. Brilliance is great if you need a little time to deal with a catapult in a later level. Pause to use spells.

Solid gameplay with solid storyline... each are good alone, but together, the game ends up great. 4/5 - (it's just a bit repetitive)

gate guard - They're attacking the gate!
argus - well, maybe you should do something about it!
gate guard - I am, I'm repeatedly telling you that the gate is under attack!
argus - sigh...

Very, very well done. I had a wonderful time playing this game, and the storyline was exellent, not to mention the interactive characters in the keep. Bravo!

Excellent dialogue and story, it makes you really care about the characters. My favourites are the drug dealer and prostitute;)

"I served here proudly 42 years" "My forefathers founded Candor 50 years ago". Forefathers? That guy is clearly older than Candor.

In general, I like this -- but the inability to target multiple opponents outside of skills and the tendency for attacks to abruptly become ineffective against targets bashing at the gate makes it increasingly difficult in a way which feels unfair. I noticed after awhile that I was simply unable to keep up with the mobs since I would expend every skill I had and barely make a dent in them (they'd stun, but not die). The worst was when the catapults showed up, since they hung so far back that I had to leave huge mobs at the gates to go attack them. Teleporting barely made it tolerable.

Game was amazing. I really enjoyed playing it, as well as the story that it was a part of. I cant wait to hear when Ortus will come out. The lord of war was tough, but the fight was easy if you keep units chasing you rather than the wall and just teleport and dash around to avoid taking too much damage at one time. 5/5!!!!

*sniff*
--SPOILER ALERT
I do not usually cry over plot twist or sad books, but the writing in this game is so good, and the game play solid, Its truly a 5/5 game.
When *sniff* alger died, I almost cried. I Truly felt for the charecters in this game. To me, the great game play was just a bonus, the story is what really drove me to beat the level

Really annoying when all the enemies attack the keep and even with the best wall upgrade it cannot survive whilst you kill all the enemies with the best weapon upgrade. Enemies need to attack you if you go near them and either the wall needs to be improved or enemies weakened because as it is the enemies are op and you cannot keep up with the sheer numbers of enemies even with all the upgrades and using all the abilities to their max effectiveness

Also don't forget to use pause constantly, makes each of your moves several fold quicker and more efficient in game time.

How can this be only 3.7 rated ? It is very well made, maybe too well for a casual flashgame ... I guess you can only rate it 5 if you like it or 4 if you don't - still faaar too well made to be 3 or below -.-

After figuring out how to put use to all my abilities, and getting teleport (ohhh baby), this game became pretty awesome. People aren't giving it a fair chance. If stuff is attacking the gate, that means you're hugging it too closely. Get away from it and they'll attack you instead. Use mines every time they're up. Keep track of your cool downs and win. That simple.

Played this game years ago, and it is still awesome! It has promising mythology, memorable characters, intriguing dialogue, captivating atmosphere...I am really looking forward to Ortus. Sure, it takes longer than everyone expected, but I am following your updates on Kickstarter an happy to see that the project is making progress. Keep up the great work! :)

I found the last boss to be quite easy. keep stunning him with lighting and that light wave thing while you teleport around the battlefield to take care of the weaker enemies and you should have him beat in no time

The main game should include ability to purchase allies to fight along side of you. Great game even though my CPU could barely handle it. I gave it the deserved 5/5 which is surprising because I don't give it out much especially for a "demo, sneak peek" of the actual game.
