If I press F, I just keep flying unless i get low enough to touch the ground and walk, then I can take off again. At some point, the fuel bar gets transparent, and I no longer can fly, jus have to walk normally.

There's a lag between key presses and movement for me. Also what kind of side scroller doesn't have a 1 second ghost?!

Once I have the upgrades, there's nothing to spend money on. One time purchases for a level (like starting later, faster, more damage, regen, etc,) would give something to spend it on...

What I want to know is why you taunt me with a much-needed heart, dangling it in front of me until I'm mere pixels away...then do a screen wipe for the boss guy. WHYYYYYYY.....

Two really annoying things with the flying/jumping.
1.) You accelerate off of the ground faster by jumping than by flying, but you don't have a choice with either because that decision is made solely by whether you have fuel or not.
2.) What is the point of fuel in the first place? Besides the obvious, force the player in a noob state for the longest time until they can purchase all of the upgrades to fly the entire run, but no one checks their fuel bar and when we run out of fuel, it's always in the most inconvenient time. I would almost rather never have fuel and be forced to jump the whole time than to be on a roll by doing so well and then suddenly my guy plummets to the ground to get hit by some monster, I have to regain control of the ground area, avoid enemy fire, try to jump to avoid some enemy/fire only to find that I can now fly but the lift-off is so slow that I get hit again.

well... controls work partly fine. if you make a game that makes you let loose of your mouse you should go through with that all the way. It's a pain

idk if anyone else noticed this but the first boss is called the abortion of the seas. i think its supposed to be the apparition? lol its a dead ghostly sea fetus

well... controls work partly fine. if you make a game that makes you let loose of your mouse you should go through with that all the way. It's a pain always having to change, especially in the cutscenes. For the menu it's ok! I started to enjoy the game but then... a shield? really?!? And you have to grind your way through the game endlessly just to fight the final boss, even if you would be skilled enough (probably not me, but there are other who are) to fight him eventually on your first try? No. That's not cool!

It's a two-handed control. So I'd reccommend makeing the whole game possible with these controls, because constantly switching between mouse and keyboard is annoying.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
WHY oh why do i have to use the mouse for everything outside of the main game??? SOOOOOO friggin annoying make hotkeys please!

that feeling when you get to the final boss, get through all four stages of him, bring up the killing spell for him, and then die to the flying stones halfway through the cast. I JUST WANT TO SEE THE FINAL CUTSCENE! :D

A pretty fun game, but I personally thought the whole sequential upgrades setup was a pretty bad misstep. Giving the player an illusion of choice when there really isn't makes the game feel more linear than anything else. Additionally, I thought forcing the player to complete all missions before being able to beat the game was a bit contrived--it feels like forced replay value. On that note, I thought the final boss having four phases was a /bit/ much, considering that your character has a gigantic hitbox and there are bullets everywhere. It's basically Miska Tonic or bust right there.

I hate the shortened Wilhelm scream that plays when you kill the dudes. It doesn't even go with the other audio effects.

If your progress stops at 10k, it doesnt feel very endless. Also a boss every now and then and the game becoming slowly more challenging would make endless more engaging

Could you make it so when we grab a weponomicon right before a boss battle we still have that power up? I kinda dislike that you lose it as soon as you hit a boss.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I have to kill the abortion of the sea every single time I go through 1000 metres? Aw man, I'm gonna need way stronger magic.

Just finished it, final battle was epic! nicely done. May I suggest a swap mode? on the opening, let the player choose to play the boy or the girl? would only require redoing the last panel of the opening comic, the first panel of the closing, and the fleeing tentacle animation, as well as making fight animations for the girl. (oh, and a couple buttonsin the store) but being able to fight as the girl would be appreciated by many.

I think it would be better, if the flying bodyparts of killed enemies were in the background, because right now they cover even the bullets, not to say live monsters. So on the 3rd level, when there are so many enemies, you can't see what you're shooting at, at all.

So much crap flying around the screen. The first 1000m was fine, but after that it's way too hectic to make sense of anything.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's alright, but I'm not much of a fan of games where you physically cannot win until you've leveled up a certain amount.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
needs a buyable pet to attack enemies for you. it gets preety hectic and ts hard to defeet all of the enimes on the scrren.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Wow, this game is just too glitchy. I stunned the boss and did all the stun kill stuff, yet nothing happened and he got unstunned.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
1 thing you could add would be a up grade or item to slow enemys down or you could also make an rare item that kills all enemys on screan

I saw a comment that said it hurts to hold down a button the whole time?! wtf man/woman/person? seriously? it's holding a button..

After toggling auto fire, make it so auto fire stays on. I don't want to have to press f after every fight, it seems kind of redundant.
