I don't know if there was en Kongregate employee involved, but nice to see this game get a weekend BOTD, since this is such a beautiful game -----(Context: I said earlier that this would be better as weekend BOTD than a weekday BOTD, where people have time to enjoy it)

"Best of 2019" my ass! This thing tested my patience to its limits -- way too boring, convoluted and self-indulgent for me to be interested in the plot, and way too stretched out with pointless filler for me to possibly slog through it. I finally lost patience after the SECOND time our protagonist woke up and started going about their whimsical day to day. It's not meta -- it's head-up-the-ass self-indulgent.

10/10 game but an AWFUL pick for a weekday BOTD, it takes too long to complete before reaching the BOTD deadline, this would have been better as a Friday/weekend BOTD, where people have better time to complete the game without rush (or from playing ahead in the BOTD plan), it's simply too well done to rush through for the badge unless you grab an already completed savefile

I posted this before because while I love these games, it's pretty long for badge of the day; this is the code for the end. https://justpaste.it/8qbl4 (I'd post it here, but it's seven pages of non-spaced text O.O) Highlight/copy it there, then here click "Import saved game", paste it into the box and click "load saved game". You should be at a gathering of people outside in an open area with a tall statue. Click the stairs in the front of the screen, then "Set off" and "Let's go.". In some instances, a computer will put a space at the end of pasted text for some reason. The acceptance of the code is very strict/specific, so after you paste it make sure there isn't a space at the end or it will say something about an error.

The first game took me 1.5 hours to beat. This game took me 2 hours to beat. I beat it almost 3 years ago. I didn't like having to rush this game because it got the BOTD because it would be nicer to play it at my own pace, which would have probably taken 3 hours without having to skip text. The graphics are beautiful. Lots of hand drawn art.

So. Damned. Long. So. Freaking. BORING. OMG- no 15 points was worth slogging through this- worse than the Medieval Chronicles garbage. Negative 5 stars.

for those who did "i don't know how" to get the BOTD without playing, i highly recommend this game if you're into game of story telling and puzzle solving, not to mention that the art is above average

This game showed up 4 times in 2021 as BOTD, but not at all in 2022, and now it's back. It's a great game, it just takes 2 hours to beat it and earn the badge. It takes the fun out when you have to rush to beat a game before the end of the day compared to taking your time to beat it.

I suddenly thought of this game today and replayed it to after the fire scene. I still wish there was an alternate ending for being cold to Ugo and interested in Scath. It just feels like there was too much work put into the dialogue 'paths' for there not to be.

An amazing game, I wish I could have gotten through the whole thing, but Little Willow being offered alcohol and then kissed without permission brought back some really. Terrible memories. I cant complete this sorry. :(

About the endgame import code: in some instances, a computer will put a space at the end of pasted text, for some reason. This is a really long game for BOTD. I made progress the last time it was BOTD. I made progress this time. Maybe I'll finally complete it before it is BOTD again...

It took me hours to figure out the alchemy puzzle, but I did it. This is one of the best games I have played. I love rpg games like this and everything about it is breath taking. I can't wait for chapter 3. I hope to hear and see more.

okay reading everyone else's comments I'm convinced that somehow I'm playing a different game. I'm doing something where there's a big tree a guy climbs up to find the Gods, gets possessed by one, then returns to the Surface to try and cause a rebellion among the tribe. There's no puzzles or anything like that. This doesn't match the description of the game or any walkthroughs.

@balbanes, vasantj didnt just have "several" chapters. He had like at least 40 games. FOURTY! That is as long as, or even longer than all Harry Potter books combined. But, thank you for posting the solution too. That helped a lot of people.

This is a fantastic game with beautiful art, a well-crafted plot, and well-designed puzzles. Unfortunately, it also takes several hours to complete, which makes it a poor choice for BotD. But it's worth playing. And one of these days, I'll actually finish it.
