It would be great if you could compose on the preview screen as well. That way, I don't have to go back and forth so many times just to see which keys I need and which I don't

As usual, awesome game, although there is little to no feeling of accomplishment if you only use random, and I'm EXTREMELY bad at composing music... 5/5

5/5 for a contest entry, but 4/5 as a kongregate game. If a person doesn't know what they are doing, they will just hit random every time and not be able to finish the game. If a person DOES know what they are doing, having to create up to 32 bars of music for every level takes a long time. Great game for music composers, but not the average gamer.

LOL GREAT GAME. I found out if u want ot win, use the wooden leg, evenind dress, shiny bald head, and skull mask. With those combined i am doing 10-15 dmg a hit to everyone witrhin range, not to meantion all the arrows and stuff that i stacked buffs with to make uber awesome in crits.

So, I decided to visit my aunt today. She happens to have a fantastic piano. I asked her if I could have it for a gift, and she said yes. I took it home, excited to play. I open it up, place my fingers on the keys, and I play. It wasn't magical. FML.

I'm afraid I don't have much to add beyond what others have said. Excellent concept, what appears to be fine gameplay, but the system is cumbersome and unless you know how to write music or just really dig into the mechanics and turn your speakers off, it's not really all that fun, it's just random and repetitive. Now, for the musically inclined, this must be really neat, so kudos for making a game for them. It just isn't accessible.

Yeah!!!! I'm a bald poor person attacking ghosts with a flamingo while wearing a pink suit and skeleton mask while a cat plays the piano!!!!!! Man my life is messed up..........

I like this game, as far as I'm aware, no other game on Kongregate let's you play the PianoKeyboard (except for a puzzle here or there). My only complaint is that there are about 2 octaves and there isn't much in our control in regards to timing, you either don't wait, wait a bit, wait more or wait longer! If you could do something about being able to hold notes (i.e. beats/second, no. of seconds, etc) and maybe get more octaves and allow more keys to be pressed simultaneously that would be awesome! Thanks. :)

The concept seems nice enough, but I have absolutely no idea how this works. The tutorial didn't help at all, and relying on the cat to make random songs doesn't get you far, and isn't very interesting either. :(

My parents used to tell me that my love of the music of Billy Joel would never help me to conquer the evils of this world. Well, I've certainly proved them wrong.

I like this game. It's enjoyable like every other Nerdook's games. But nothing more than that. Comparing to the previous game (Orbital Onslaught, which felt more like a demo than a finished game) which was too short, this one seems too long. I mean, even those who hit the RANDOM button to create the music, will feel a bit bored at some time, specially on later levels when there are lots of lines to compose. And I guess that those who know music stuff will get even more bored. Not to mention redudant itens. Please, Nerdook (and other Kong fellows), don't get me wrong. I love the idea of this game, it's simply as original as it gets. It just feels a bit unbalanced.

Compose music, taking notes of where the blocks are: 0 stars
Mash the key buttons: All of the stars and it sounds like I'm Mozart

Noooo!!!!! Too simple composition! I want more bars! I want more notes! I want an aumented sixth chord, or a minor seventh chord with augmented fifth! I want to... Compose! How can I write counterpoint in a game like this?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
only 3.69, this game deserves about 4.25, considering that you can cheat, but the cheating saves time. And the plot is good, but not Nerdook's best.

Nice lesson jacob learned.
"Who needs a diamond necklace when u have a magic piano and a freaking music genius cat!!!"

With such promise such as this i really wish there were a full piano option with different lengths of notes like a half note or an eighth note. The lack of these just makes it hard to make complicated music. + if you agree

terrible terrible tutorial. I didn't get it and it didn't really seem like it had enough potential to justify feeling my way through the game.

A very unique concept, but it didn't make for a great game. I could see a sequel (direct or spiritual) being a hit. However, this game pushes people to simply hit the random button instead of composing, and standing in front of enemies. It's difficult to connect composition and play. Outside of composing, the game feels more like watching than playing. The presentation is very well polished as usual, but the gameplay is lacking. 3/5

you have to hate it when your chasing aa ghost and your on the groud n between two blocks and then the song traps with a block on yur head

I'm sure I would have enjoyed this game vastly more if I was gifted with the knowledge of how to compose music, but that aside; as usual your game is beautifully done, it's got a fun, solid concept, gameplay that rarely feels like a repetitive grind, and a fun rewards system to keep us playing even when it seems hard. Very fun. P.S. The song in the opening menu is beautiful.

So, I have no musical talent. However, I beat the game easily by letting the cat play the piano and stacking every single item I could to increase my little dude's damage.

I actually wish you guys would have gone a little further with it. Creating songs was a lot of fun but there's only so much you can do with single quarter notes and rests.
