After figuring out the game, I've managed to go undefeated, even defeating the Beast in one go. Here's how: 1) Fire Monks, I got 2 to level 10. Always pick them first, if you can. If not, pick an archer. All range units are good, and should take priority, except for Spitting Spider. 2) Have a high-health/armor tank, like Stone Golem, Big Spider, or Charging Ox. 3)Always pick Reinforcement as your battle card. If not, they are all good situationally, except Death Pact. Never use that. Retreat was hardly used, but can be good to stick near your tower for a lil' extra damage. 4) Foolproof, you'll never lose.

Two of the opponents I've faced in Story Battle are Rarity and Karkat.
Can't help, but feel a little MLP and Homestuck reference there.
On a side not. Slamuraii? Really!? What are you? A slamming samurai!?

Its a good game... the art is fantastic. Although... it is too hard to get good cards and you should be able to switch out your skills and upgrade your general. keep up the good work guys :)

I completely wiped out the enemy reinforcements, and had 12 reinforcements, but lost because a single level 3 flame archer backed up behind the tower. This game has way too much randomness to feel fun to play. And the difficulty goes from "you got to stage two" to the enemy has siege towers now and your general is going to die in two hits. I got to stage five multiple times, and sometimes I got right back to it easily, other times I lost on stage two even picking counter units. If you want to make a game with progression, don't put t rex tanks in the first stage on the first reset. Your general is supposed to be the backbone of your army, but you can't upgrade them, they become fodder after the second wave of stage one, thank god they don't cost anything to respawn, or else this game would be even worse.

A fun time sink. Choices feel pretty meaningful both in the deck building phase and during play and there are a lot of tactics you can try. You can create a synergistic deck, you can make one with a mix up to adapt to your opponent, or you can just take all the best cards you see.
My process from my first play through to my 30th, only the beast took me more than one try the first time:
I started with the two tankeist units I could find, a couple counter picks, and the rest were archers. Healing archers are probably my favorite unit even late game.
It than evolved to frontlines units that had built in sustain, supported by the highest DPS archers and goatman.
Vampire seems to be one of the best units in the game, despite its low stats. Its unique "flying" mechanic is probably why, as I think it frequently makes it immune to damage. Damage immunity, plus high speed, plus lifesteal makes them nigh unkillable in high numbers and or with archer support.

So every time I buy a new card, one of my old cards have to go. No extra room or something like that. So I this way could change back and forth?
Also a rookie level 10 (or higher) are weaker than a veteran level 1. Since the Cards/units dont gain any experience, then it is in reallity something no worth collething. You just need to grind gold or be lucky, untill you get a 4 star card. Since it is the most powerfull.
The fun part would of course have been, if the card could have gained Experience and over time gone from 1 star, to two stars, then tree star and finally 4 stars. Of course the jumps would be bigger from 2 to 3 stars than 1 to 2 stars. And even bigger from 3 to 4 stars. Or that could be something which happened when you beat the bosses. And you could then gain level, by fighting.
But then again now I am just posting my ideas. And

This is the only game I've ever played where I played the same level (#1) over and over and over again and improved my deck SIGNIFICANTLY, and got worse. How awful are programmers? This awful. The gameplay is nonsensical and boring yet irritating to watch. The decisions are weak and pointless. 1/5

How on earth have some people got high level cards? Talking 30+ to even level 99. I don't see any way for a card to get exp, you just get a card from the random shop but I don't know what the link is between that and these insanely levelled cards. Is related to how many times you beat the beast?

I know it's counter to what make Nerdook games great, but dammit it would be nice if they'd let you kick butt for at least a little while instead of always one-upping your cards. Oooh, you just got a dragon? How cute, check out my armored dragon...

I find the game very much "grinding" till you the defeat the last boss (after the 4 armies), i wish the armies were larger (since i am a freak of ultimate big fights), overall, the game is good, good gameplay, fairly fast paced, good job.

Guys, the point of the general is that he doesn't take reinforcements to replace. Because of that, he's actually super useful, and a lot of strategy goes into exploiting his free health and damage as much as you can.

Agreed, Death is annoying AF. I figured though, if you just use ranged and low damage tanks, he's not terribly bad. The tanks will have too much health and too little DPS for death to bypass them even if he kills a few, while the archers whittle him down, their shots piercing through the tanks to get to death.

I have to agree with the masses regarding the weakness of the general. Just seems like trash pretty quickly. I don't get why beating the boss just rolls you to the menu, no reward... Overall pretty mediocre game, fun for a short time but lost my interest

I was hoping my general would grow stronger as I get better cards. I can't really tell if he really is getting stronger even without the blue ability.

One of the weirdest games i have played on Kong... This game is pure chaos since you don't have a "real control" of you army, also the upgrade system with the cards seemed more like a downgrade-system to me... Everytime i got "stronger", the opponent army got even stronger... Overall 3/5 since it was not too frustrating to play after swichting to ranged heroes

for some reason, the archer that when gets hit, teleports, tends to teleport behind the tower, which makes him unkillable. please fix this

Multiplayer not working for me (google chrome). Button "Play now" gives just information about army but the battle does not start.
