This game appears to be nothing but an advert for the game on Steam. Now you might think that it being an advert for the game on steam would encourage the developer to make sure that the game on Kongregate is actually good enough to make the full game appealing but you'd be expecting too much. The game is a horrifically slow, terrible mess, that is completely unplayable using a trackpad, even though no other application has a problem registering my cursor movement. The advanced badges are impossible, but even the most basic badge requires more time and effort than I am willing to devote.
What's worse is that I now have to go back and re-rate all the Medieval Cop games because whilst I thought they were the worst that games could get on here they are, at the very least, playable to completion, even if it requires paging through interminable dialogue. I can't justify leaving them on 1 if that's what I'm rating this.

Crashtastic. Nothing like finishing the qualifications for the BOTD and having the game crash before the run ends. So frustrating!

At the character creation stage, the loading icon was constantly hovering next to the perks&unlocks menu. I think this is the end of the game, badge of the day failed. Too hard to beat bugged game...

People complaining about BotD, it can be done in one single run (and it truly is easy), that is, 15 minutes of play time. The badge means to select all upgrades that only affect your primary weapon during that run. Those are the ones with the icon in green color (there are two types in those green upgrades, one that upgrades your primary weapon, and one that upgrades your character's skill. Choose the green upgrades of your primary weapon). You will need 7 total upgrades on that weapon to fully evolve it. And the upgrades are tree-like, meaning you can choose different paths to upgrade the weapon for different effects. For once, a new set of badges for a new game are reasonably set (except the impossible one, which is bugged and it's granted even if you didn't complete the challenge).

Some tips for people who are struggling with this: choose the wand, then go after the doom upgrades (makes your hits sometimes explode for AoE damage) while also focusing on upgrades that give you more shots, splitting shots and the like (more hits means more explosions); doom works with all attacks, but it's easier to get lots of attacks out of the wand. The starburst uprgade (middle bottom wand upgrade twice) is particularly good for this, though not so great for focused damage.
Also, choose Barb Barian once you have her unlocked; her roll skill lets you get an occasional burst of speed (during which you can't fire but can reload) and can be upgraded to be invulnerabile during the roll and do AoE knockback with damage when it ends, so you've an escape route if surrounded.

Uh... Doesn't require a lot of time at all. maybe half an hour, and I'm sure it was less. Loads and plays perfectly on Chrome too. I wonder why I got the impossible badge on my first and as of now only run, though. Also, the character moves way too slowly.

Can someone give a general rundown on how to achieve the botd, so far I've got a medium and hard badges but none of the easy

To fully evolve your main weapon, you need to upgrade it through two piramides and then again to select the final form. This means 3+3+1=7 upgrades (or is there an initial one, so 8?). Some plot twists are not just downsides: 20% more enemies means 20% more xp and loot. Pet Jail Break is the same thing and gives you 2 pets instead of one. And you can choose to NOT pick a plot twist if all are bad and just the same thing again. More XP leads to more level-ups which means more upgrades!

I know a lot of people love fast-paced, stress-inducing stuff like this. I do not because I feel games should be relaxing. I would much prefer a slower version of this game.

Was pleasantly surprised at the depth and challenge...and then it crashed during act 3 and I lost all my progress, just like rig333.

Looks like another BotD where you can only get it if you've already done the task previously. No way I'm managing this in one day. I got stuff to do.

on ne peut pas changer les touches, et être bloquer avec les mouvements "wasd" est juste rageant
ils pourrait penser au gens jouant avec les touches fléchés....

Well-made though it is overall, this game's very much not suited for playing on a laptop with a trackpad -- aiming with one finger while keeping the mouse button held down with another is a recipe for hand cramps, which'll end your best run pretty fast. Having an Auto-Fire toggle (or even an Auto-Aim feature as a shop upgrade) and the option to re-bind the movement keys to the Arrows instead of WASD would be a big help, because otherwise, I don't see myself being able to stick with this game for long.

I really enjoy playing this game! Although I just played through and beat chapter 0 (third attempt), there is a lot of room for this game to become much more difficult, since I would like more of a challenge. 9.5/10!

Way too much, too soon, in regards to enemies on the first game. You need to let players get familiar with the game mechanics, like ALL other games do. I also did not like that I couldn't get to my experience, because literally half the screen is full of monsters. Super ridiculous game play.

update: just unlocked the dog and got a hard badge.... seriously? that was only worth a medium badge. looking at the list, this isn't the only one. barb barian is also a hard badge, but she is purchasable in the shop after completing ONE game. whoever is making these badges needs to actually play the game.

idk about anybody else, but this was ridiculously easy for me. all the enemies are extremely fragile, and you gain tons of damage, pierce, fire rate, and projectiles. even if you get hit, it deals a fraction of your health and can easily be healed by the hearts that enemies drop. only got even remotely "challenging" when I faced the final boss and lost a quarter of my health. a quarter. I had also taken the risk of choosing abilities that reduced my defenses for more damage, and yet, I still didn't need any effort what so ever. The game is heavily inspired by 20 minutes til dawn but isn't even a fifth of the challenge. roguelikes pull people in because they are fun and challenging, and getting to the end feels like an achievement. none of that is here. at least it has potential to be something. 2/5

Just died from a great build due to the gatling "upgrade": made me move super slow and deal like no damage. Thought damage was supposed to increase, not decrease.

0 stars, making a game that allows the mouse to move off the screen and pauses it thus allowing you to die from an overwhelming mob on the very first game screen is a non-starter. Considering how many people whine about how unfair life, How do these types of frustrating games keep getting made?

Got the impossible badge on the first try, the first time playing. This is not a brag - it is just way too easy for an impossible badge.

Not that I understand how progress in this game actually works, but I just got impossible badge and that definitely seems weird.

Kudos to the developers. I believe they are a small team, and when they realized that they messed up the new badges and everybody here was rightfully complaining, they must have been in panic mode, but they kept their cool and only posted very levelled replies here in the comments section, and they fixed the badges. Classy.

Thank you for revising the new badges to be reasonable - although I don't think they were necessary, they were much better than the impossible pay-to-earn badges. :)

It looks like Kongregate took out the badges related to needing to buy the full game and replaced them with some other ones. Thank you for that.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Man these badges seem rushed and sort of lack luster compared to the old days. Have not been on kongregate in a few years but man it seems it has changed quite a bit. Still will always love this site RIP if applicable

The enemies should not be allowed to outrun you so easily (even with a lot of movement improvements). You get swarmed with little chance of survival and that's guaranteed damaged if not death. The "choose your least favourite power-ups portion makes little sense unless *I* choose, instead I'm presented with three options and I actually like them. The "vote option" seems more of punishment than a reward.
