Well, that was a fun way to kill some time. Good to see the balance tweaks since I last played - once again, I've maxed out everything, so I'll probably quit there.
Thanks for checking the game out again! Sorry there isn't much more content than last time around. Still in a game prototyping phase right now but if I fleshed out this game it will certainly have a lot more fish and map to explore :)

3) I don't know what this crazy concrete looking structure I'm fishing in is, lol. Like maybe a small archipelago so you can have different fishing areas and multiple docks scattered across the different islands. You can limit access to certain areas by obtaining "fishing licenses" or something, could be mini-quests you accomplish at each dock.
4) Linear progression can be fine but this is REALLY linear. Maybe some branching when you add more fish types, like 2-3 fish at each level and collection bonuses can separately allow you to scale up to the one type in next tier of fish, that way every single fish doesn't feel like a grind, only some of them. And as the player you are consciously deciding to challenge yourself with a fish in the next tier instead of completing the tier you're in, if that makes sense.
Anyway, really enjoyed the game and it definitely has potential! I hope you eventually come back to it after you work more on those idle games you mentioned :)

3) Hahaha you're the first person to really question the structure. Yea I was grayboxing the level layout and was planning to switch it out with actual islands and such but ran out of time. I like the idea of fishing licenses to unlock zones, it's a much more on theme way to approach that! 4) I very much agree. I do hope I can achieve that through design when I have more fish to play with. An example is the current bass fight. There should be 4 ways to approach the fight as it is basically a DPS race. You can upgrade your damage to catch it before it gets away, up your speed, get the slowing upgrade, or go while underleveled and pray for RNG lol. I'm happy you think I'm on the right path and I'll make sure I keep your suggestions in mind!

Really like the concept overall and the bones of this game! The mechanics are solid, with some minor bugs. Some random suggestions I thought of while grinding out that 100th swordfish:
1) I would say that boar repairs should cost money, your boat should come back to life with 1 hp and then you pay gold past that. It's currently a bit cheap that I can just flee to a harbor and be completely healed instantly at no cost. And just losing the cargo when a boat sinks isn't really punishment enough. So redoing the concept of HP/Repair might make it more interesting.
2) It was unclear to me what leveling up actually did. Maybe display base stats somewhere and leveling up increases everything by a little, and then the paid upgrades further modify the stat? Somehow the upgrades and the level need to be distinguishable so that any accomplishment feels distinct.

Thanks for the thorough feedback! 1) That's actually an interesting idea. It's a bit akin to durability in Diablo where if you dip too low, you're forced to grind a bit before you can return to your full power. What I like about this is that this game supports non-combat encounters, so you could just farm some non-combat fish for a while to build your gold back up. 2) Yep you're right, leveling was supposed to unlock new gameplay systems and zones but there really isn't enough content in the prototype to support this.

I loved the game, but there is a very minor bug. If you catch a fish while in a cargo depot, it is not sold automatically. You must leave and come back into the circle. While this is protection against AFK-ing, it is mildly annoying. Otherwise, great game. I really enjoyed it.
Yep good eye for design! I indeed put that in there so people wouldn't just sit in the minnow area and reach level 10 eventually. Do you have an idea on how to get around the annoyance? I could put the fish spawns further away from the dock but that does make it a further distance to travel to get to the fish.

I like this game! Every fish has different personality and the simplicity is great from how you made this game. Keep it up :)
Thank you for recognizing that! I did try to figure out how to make each encounter be a bit unique. I was happy with how the bass turned out. It took me a while to come up with that version.

Loved the game! Would have liked a banner at the end saying the game was completed and asking to continue or restart. Would defiantly def have made me feel more satisfied in completing all the upgrades and trophies. But as i said, awesome game, nice work!
Thanks for playing and I agree, that was an oversight on my part as I didn't really know what the end point was when I designed it. I will certainly try to keep this in mind in future games!
Thanks for playing! I actually had bait implemented in the original version but it was confusing to players so I took it out. It basically required the medium sized fish to be caught only when you have small fish in your cargo, thus creating a supply chain of sorts. I then wanted some automation where small fish could be caught automatically, that way gathering bait would be less annoying over time. I miiiight revisit this idea in the future, but I'd change up the UI to be better.

This is the start of a fun game. I know you're doing some short-cycle games, but it would be cool to see this concept more fleshed out.
Btw runs fine on Win10 with Chrome 80.0.3987.149 X64. (You've asked folks for incompatible versions, but I figure this can help too.)
Thanks for looking into that! Yea more info does help me and I can start asking people for more detailed versions to help me try it down. Regarding the prototypes, you're right that this may not be the first game I finish out, but given the positive feedback, I think I should tackle it regardless down the line :)

Really enjoyed the game, it kept me wanting more for sure. Your fish species could almost be unlimited and never ending, I suppose an easy and fun way to expand the incremental aspect would be new boats. I also feel like a possible future upgrade path could be dock "ring" size. starting out that you need to drive essentially ontop of the dock to cash out, all the way to a nice big ring.
Thanks for the feedback! Yea I actually had a lot of fun designing the fish even though they are relatively simple and short in numbers. But yea, I could see a lot of future fish having different patterns to have to learn, since it is heavily movement based game after all. I actually hadn't thought of that for the dock. I know I'm interested in dock upgrades in the future, and the ring idea would be a nice complement to the obvious which is just adding more buildings and shops.

Beautiful game, absolutely love the concept thus far. Obviously the game isn't finished yet, but I look forward to future updates!

Cool, relaxing game. I want more! Maybe a few more areas? A prestige system where you do more damage to fish with each reset? Nothing too complicated. I like the simple system!
Thanks for the feedback! Prestige was an interesting idea I wrestled with but I played it safe with this one. I agree, it could be fun and I think I'll play with that idea in a future game.

I am shocked, really shocked. That I have spent an hour fishing in circles. I want to quit, but I can't...This is what flash games are supposed to be!
Really appreciate the words :) I was really craving something like this but had a lot of trouble finding a fishing themed one so I figured I needed to make it myself!

You need a reddit or kongregate forum, not a discord, for good game ideas not to get lost and social-chat-addicts not to skew what non-social-chat-addicts-who-are-gamers truly want.
I've seen in that chat ideas that some other players would shoot down for obvious reasons, and point out a game that tried that and failed dramatically --- forums give ideas some reactions that chats tend to hide (if not actively harass people who protest certain frequent yet bad ideas)
Thanks for the input! I certainly want to support more communication channels as I continue down this path. I agree that the different platforms serve different demographics and I ended up choosing Discord because that's the quickest one for me to respond to since I always have it open. I think reddit would be good a final version of something rather than a prototype. Good point on forums (sometimes) preventing reposts, there certainly are a bunch in this so I'll consider it for the next game.

beutiful game. There is so much potential in this, you could add things like depth for fish and upgrades to increase your reach for each fisherman or Boss fights against a Kraken with harpon guys etc. I can see so much fun.

This needs a seizure warning with how often the background flashes, has potential would like to see the concept developed further.

Is there a point to the exp bar a the top? At the moment it looks like we level for the sake leveling and it is not attached to any function or advancement.

I've already commented twice on this game already and I don't want to bother you but my question is is that will there be a guaranteed full version of this game or is it possible that it won't?
No prob! At the moment I'm knocking out a series of prototypes to test out new concepts. After I'm done with those I'll be picking a winner to make a full version with. So that means I'm not necessarily guaranteed to be moving forward with this game, though given the response and feedback for this game, I may make a full version eventually even if it's not the first one I tackle. Hope that explains things!

Your browser does not support any of the required graphics API for this content. Yeah, that includes Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. So no, it's not a browser error, it's an error in the game.
Oh yea I don't disagree. I've been using the latest Unity renderer and suspect it has something to do with that. I can't easily swap it out though, nor do I have a test device/browser that can recreate the issue so I've been having trouble hunting it down. I apologize for this but I have no easy way of fixing it right now.

love the game and i couldn't stop playing until there was nothing else to do and even then i continued to max as much out as possible. would love to see more out of this game in the future.
Sorry about this, I haven't figured out why it just doesn't work on some machines yet. You may have to go to another computer and see if that works. I really apologize for the inconvenience!

The fish don't feel like they respawn fast enough. I suppose this could be easily fixed by adding more content in general but grinding the last collection of the medium-sized fish is a bit annoying at the moment
Totally agree, the spawn rates were more tuned towards early/mid game and I don't have enough content to fill that gap. I know it's not the best answer right now but I found the optimal thing to do late game is to make runs around the map doing a variety of fish. It doesn't help with collecting the final medium fish but it's best I can do until a new version is added. Thanks for the feedback!

<3 your game but I feel it could use a little more content like new fish or some kind of boss. I feel if you were to add things like daily missions or a shop where you can purchase new boats that have different stats yet still need to be upgraded. I also think that if you were to add bosses have them have combinations of fish movement. For example a shrimp with the attack power of 3 swordfish but the movement of a koi. I also feel that you should add more levels to the character and the boat because being able to basically finish the game in a hour makes it a little to quick and easy.
Great inputs, thanks for the insight! The combination idea is interesting, and also a scary thought because of how dangerous your example sounds lol. I do want to have more content like the ideas you had. A full version of the game would definitely try to last several hours and have a lot more zones to explore. Thanks for playing~

uwah, so many respons from the dev :D and the game really great. Good for refreshing mind (especially for this recent time about lockdown and virus)

Great game, nice one! :) I think it might be good to add new types of fish which are made up, as in fictional rather than based on real life. Mainly because you can add more interesting and challenging fish with ease. Also you can get around the problem of fishing things like whales etc. If it's a fantasy animal people feel more comfortable doing it! Just a suggestion! :)
Thanks for the suggestions! You know, I had been considering fantasy fish but I actually did not think about the whole idea with people being cautious about fishing whales and other more wholesome creatures. Glad you brought that up cuz yea, very good way to avoid that issue.

Amazing game! Because there's only two attacking fish, and with the health regen perks, health never seems to be a concern and is outshined by other upgrades
Yep that's a good point. A future version would have more harrowing encounters that take off 10 hp when hit, so hopefully that'll help raise the value of the stat. Thanks for the feedback!

Besides from more content, one thing I'd do is to put some type of rigid bodies on the elements, it might solve the problem of fishes going through the walls. If you already did that, then it's really weird what's happening here :/
Thanks for the feedback! The fish going through walls is intentional to provide a challenge to the players. I had walls in place in an early version and all that ended up happening was I would trap the fish against the walls and farm them. In the future I'd probably put buoys there instead to help explain what's going on.
Thanks for playing! Yea I'm thinking the solution for the fish/wall issue is to change the walls to buoys, because they are intended to provide a challenge to the player, but visually I do think it's pretty jarring.

Great Game! Fun gameplay, cute graphics, and simple, but engaging theme; a well-crafted game.
If you allow me a few suggestions:
* I would love to have a little ending when you reach full collections and upgrades.
* It felt there were too many fishermen shack, which made a little too easy to go from left to right collecting Showdfishes and Basses.
* A few environmental effects, such as currents, garbage piles,(maybe storms), and day and night cycle, would help to build more tension and to break some moments of monotonous wandering.
* Maybe a hero type fisherman, that you only can have one at the time and that you lose it if you get sunk, with his little bio card would give a little more flavor, even a different strategy in the how to play. (I know this last recommendation is quite big, so it would be quite understandable if you dismiss it without further thought.)
Again, I feel you have here a potential "little game that could" type of scenario, so, again, great job!
Great points, thanks for taking all that time to compile that! Yea, your first couple points should be addressed by having more fish and levels to complete, I definitely would like to expand that map. I really want to have environment stuff, you nailed it! I've considered day/night but I'm not toooo sure what the mechanic for that would be. I know in other fishing games, different fish come out in day vs night so I could play with that. I do have plans for unique fishermen, basically like heroes, and they would each be good at certain things. Like one has a net so he's better at fighting swarms. Or a spearman who's spear can pierce through fish. I think we're thinking along the same lines so I'm glad to hear your review!

Honestly, this game deserves WAY more content. I wasn't sure what to expect but it is weirdly fun. I'd say a lot more fish would be cool, a world map would be nice (unless there is one and I missed it), and maybe some more upgrades. Different tiers of boat perhaps? Either way, great work, looking forward to seeing where this goes!
Thanks so much! "Weirdly fun" might be the best description yet, I wasn't quite sure how well the idea would turn out but I'm glad it's hooking so many people :)
