Really like the style of the game, but it has some flaws. Wish there was some kind of "next wave"-button, so you didn't have to wait so much. Also some upgrade to make the fighters smarter. A lot of the fighting seems to take place off screen, or at the edge, as well, which isn't very fun. Really nice idea but not so good execution.

ATTENTION,! Guys i know a lot of guys want to know the cheats BUT im warning those non-cheaters this will ruin the whole game for just like it did to me. The cheats is, when you start a new game just type "cash" with no quotations!! Type it as much as you want, it adds 1000 dollars!!!!

Way too short, and hard mode doesn't give you much room to play as you wish, whereas normal is too easy. Balance seems a bit off, and the game has way too many slow [no enemy] points that can't be skipped/sped through, while the storyline moments jump out and then disappear before you can read them. But! Incredibly awesome design, and really fun play. This is definitely a game I'm looking forward to seeing more of in the future.

I finally beat the game. The only thing I have to say, is make the chapters shorter. Each one took me 15-20 minutes to beat.

"Captain, we have incoming from the medium badge section of space." "What...what is it Lieutenant? I've never seen something so random!" "It appears to be an obscure music reference, sir." "But...related to...?" "Oh, our death metal databases are bringing something up. Oh my god...it's...CHILDREN OF BODOM!!" ~Ship crew all begin to synchronously mosh and headbang~

Geez that badge of the day is difficult. When those gun ships finally come around, I kill them before I can take out the turret.

i enjoyed the first several chapters, but by chapter 7 i was just leaving the maingun autofiring forward t centre height and reaidng a book, glancin gup to see if each beep was a radar ping for a new wave or new dialogue.

Anyone got any news on a orbital decay two? because this game has been out for years and i never heard anything about it.

the game isn't too bad, but the story is horrifying. having all of the development happen in the lower left hand corner of the screen makes noticing when someone's talking really difficult.

I would have loved to call Steiner to my ready room for a VERY stern lecture on the importance of the Prime Directive.

I liked the plot and the gameplay, but for goodness' sake! Why can't I summon the next wave!? I think I spent half the game just watching my drones fly around by themselves.

incredible game , and not as hard (at least not in easy or normal) i agree that the main gun should be upgraded first, then the pilots and then few other turrets

Took me a long week... i was about to shout to the world that HARD mode is impossible... but then again, one last try... just one freakin last try...
And i did it!!!!
My mistake was reading walkthrough after the first seemingly impossible attempts. Tactics. Naa. Its quite simple, so simple i barely had any trouble at all, from beginning till end.
The secret?? Practice, practice, practice. Max out main gun and repairs first, skip speed on main gun, upgrade as funds allow, pretty straightforward. Add bout 6 laser turrets middle section and back, max them one by one, skip HP. Add 2 more hangars with 1 extra fighter which.
This, a bit of luck and precise shooting make Hard mode easy :D last boss barely touched me at all.
This is an awesome game.

Lister: Three million years floating in dead space, and now this.
Rimmer: Listey, I told you not to touch that thing Holly made. Remember what happened last time? You got pregnant. I should have ejected that thing out into space eons ago. Now thanks to you, when we finally do reach Earth, we'll be settling on it as interstellar space dust.
Lister: What are you cringing on about? You're already dead.
Rimmer: Yes, thank you very much for reminding me, fish bait breath. It's not enough that every morning i have to ask Holly to evacuate my bowels for me. Or, if i take one false step i'll pass through the ship's hull and float off into space forever. Other than that, i might have forgotten!
Lister: Just keep shooting...
Cat: Will you monkeys keep it down? You're giving my suit stress-wrinkles.

So... an outdated and heavily destoryed ship, that is missing two fighter bays at least (not to menton other possible missing combat systems), blows up a pristine "god" ship? Not saying it doesn't make any sense, it just feels AWESOME!

Here's my improvement of branimirb's guide. First upgrade the main guns damage and fire rate by three tiers. Ignore HP and speed, those are useless. Once those upgrades are bought by 5 extra drones and upgrade dronerepair to 2. Get the 4th upgrade to damage on the main gun. Follow his guide until he tells you to build laser turrets. Instead of building turrets upgrade the health, build rate, and amount of fighters you have. Those are great at drawing enemy fire.

The carrier dies so fast I can't even dmg the turrets.. even my drone fighters just blow the crap out of them without damaging the turrets. =/

I can't get past chapter 8 due to a bug.
A popup window relating to flash settings will open up at the end of it, and nothing can be done to close it to regain control of the game (it even ignores the tab key).
Even though I've made it to chapter 9, if I refresh the page I'll be back at the start of chapter 8.

The text at the prologue and epilogue are too difficult to read, and the character chat during fighting doesn't work because it's DURING FIGHTING.

this game was out a couple of years ago yes it does say "but that is a story for another time" at the end but i have never seen a second one so i doubt there is this game is proberbly 3-4 years old?

It's kind of a bad sign when you can't get a medium difficulty badge because you're too efficient at killing things. :D

I liked the game but it was hard to follow the story because the dialogue went kind of fast. The ending doesn't seem good for us: "Humankind was obliterated... but the wacky adventures of the two AI continues!" Well too bad for us I guess; sequel please!

just read his profile 2nd game coming soon. his words " i’m in the process of planning Orbital Decay 2. hopefully, i’ll start working on it starting from july. it will be 3D, most likely Unity…and…it’s NOT going to be a Homeworld clone :) hopefully, it will even be finished in a couple of months"

Turrets are a waste of ressources : they're easily destroyed and you have to build and upgrade any of them again from the beginning.
It would be better if you could just rebuild previously upgraded turrets in their former state.
Anyway, fighters are top since they keep their upgrades when respawning and they drive enemy fire away from your carrier starship.
Upgrade all repairing drones to the max : you need it several times, especially in hard mode.
Upgrade your main cannon to defeat big enemy ships.
Then, add turrets : more basic turrets are better than fewer upgraded ones.
When upgrading your turrets, star with rear turrets : they're less targeted by enemy ships.
Upgrade fire rate and firepower. HP can't be upgraded enough to be interesting.
