The really enduring part about this game is the attention given to detail, especially in the enemy ai, which is really superb.

This is an awesome shmup. The retro feel, combined with the atmosphere the music and surroundings present, make for an excellent throwback to the shmups of old. The difficulty feels a bit imbalanced at times, if only on the final boss.
Still a great game, though.

i just had in idea for an AWESOME game ok excact same thing as this BUT instead of playing by yourself you play with somebody else on the internet. and if you have no idea what im talking about like that click game we have here where you play other people trying to click the dots before them. anyway you could play with them fighting like normal OR you could play against each other think about it alright?

really nice game with great old school game play, graphics and sounds. A little repetitive but generally I reallly like it.

This is a great game. I keep meaning to post a review on my site... Regardless, this is a fantastic shmup. I've yet to beat it, but that should change today.
Some of my favorite things about this game are the graphics and sound. Your visual style is both consistant and original. The same goes for your sound - music comes in at dramatic moments (asteroid fields, bosses) and the lack of music during 'generic' fighting contributes to a feeling of that you are in 'empty space' and away from larger space stations and whatnot. It's very well done.

Fun. But improvements are needed. To make this game a SICK flash game, try to use the mouse to aim and click to shoot. That'd be great, and AWESOME!

Hey I actually like the pacing of this game, I like the ebb and flow of action. It seems to have a sort of natural, lyrical flow to it...

hey is there an option to send messages to single users? it seems weird for me to communicate with someone one on one with this. anyway thom, regarding the soundtrack, email me at pixeljamgames@gmail.com and i will reply to you with mp3s of some of the tracks..

Hello pixeljamgames, I really love the music for this game too, reminds me of being young and playing NES, haha :) Is there anyway I could get the soundtrack on MP3 by any chance?

thanks for the feedback thom... i agree, that is probably the number one mistake we made regarding the game: it doesnt get intense fast enough. lesson learned! for those that want to jump to more action, use the level passwords golvl2 and golvl3

Directional shooting is lush! I think it should be a bit harder though, and the progression of enemies could do with being sped up? It's the sort of game you'd want to enjoy in short speedy doses so that'd help tremendously in my opinion!

Graphics are slick and lovely. A nice soundtrack and sounds polishes it off, with a perfect retro-shooter. I love the simple yet effective explosions and power ups. The overall execution is flawless, great job!

you can change the controls for the game at the main screen by selecting the "info" thing at the main screen, then clicking "controls". although a lot of people are having trouble finding this, so i think we should have done it differently. next game.... :)

does everyone play with qwerty keyboard ? its just impossible to play it with azerty (or really not intuitive !). i think u should give the choice at the beginning or the availabilty to change controls ...

I played gamma bros before when reading about it on gamasutra and I totally underestimated it the first time... Hell, why? It is totally awesome! Hope you guys will be one of the finalists at the Independent Games Festival in San Francisco.

Finally finished (in easy mode). after you watch the ending sequence it will show you all the passwords (one of which lets you start the game with the 500 coin superweapon)

Hello Gamma Bros, goodbye day. This is a really, really fun game. I love the overal 8-bit aesthetic, although it's pretty ironic that the file size for the audio should be so big, considering that the sounds it emulates originated 20+ years ago at much smaller sizes.

this game rocks. galaga meets robotron meets asteroids. the "commerce" part of it got a bit of getting used to.
the power ups give it a nice dimesion

I loved playing this game on MiniClip -- couldn't stop playing it the week it came out. Great stuff! Love all the power-ups and different enemies.

This game is sweet! I saw it awhile ago on newgrounds but i couldn't figure out how to start. Very well done, addictive and well thought out.
