By the time I was able to afford even a single Tier 2 pack, my Tier 1 cards were level 3, making every Tier 2 Wood cards that I've received seem worthless. They don't boost Iron enough to make them worth getting, and don't produce enough Wood to make them worth replacing the four cards I have devoted to maintaining Wood generated. Unless there's something I'm missing, that is.

With optimized wood and iron builds at world 2 (takes a few hours to get going - didn't time) I end up around 5.3k iron/s and 4.66k wood within 2 builds. So after a few hrs of setting up and minmaxing I now have to wait 5h15mins for enough iron and then 1h29mins for wood to get expansion. If that's intended then fine, it just felt like all of the sudden hitting a brick wall and the most important factor was that by the time you have enough iron for tier 2 cards your wood cards from tier 1 will have some levels meaning you save iron like crazy only to find out that the vast majority of t2 is either completely garbage or outperformed by tier1. It takes quite a while for tier 2 even to be able to match tier 1, the hole thing feels grindy/off. Tier 2 should outperform tier 1, or at least have different mechanics to play around with, not just be strictly worse for a long time.

Some "side quests" would be nice. Like achievements or the like. So like right now I'm 400ish gold/second on the first realm but if there was an achievement to get 500 gold/second that would increase all production by 10% that would totally be a reason to keep on grinding the first realm.
It does auto-save every 5 seconds. The export is there for if you want to transfer saves across browsers/computers, or if you want to transfer from the old "preview" version of the game to this official release, or for if you want to have a backup.

@jlewis1309 Funny enough, that is not the best you can get, you should only use Pipe for x4 and meat for everyone else. Mine is 2k/s
Hey soul4hdwn, sorry to hear that. You should be able to recover it if you go to the WIP version of the game (just add "-wip" to the end of the URL here, or click on my profile and navigate over to the version of the game that says "WIP"). From there, you'll be able to export your save, and then import it into this one. If your save data doesn't exist on the WIP version, it's most likely a result of deleting cookies. :(

Ignore me I'm blind! (For people that haven't seen, when you go to save layout, at the top you can select a slot you want to replace, which also lets you delete layouts)

Haunted Woods tier 2 cards either need to be much cheaper or much stronger.
My Current best wood T1 Setup is checkerboard lvl 3 Invest Imp and lvl 3 Pipe and it gives 1.76k/s. Best T1 Iron is lvl 3 Hades and lvl 3 Gauntlet Checkerboard for 560/s.
At this Stage all T2 Wood cards seem unless except Invest Dog and T2 Adjacent boost and even then it will take awhile before those are better then my lvl 3 T1 Setup. Seems almost more worth it to just get all the T1 cards i can to continue leveling them then to worry with T2 Cards.

It takes 4.47 seconds for 1 ingame second to pass. No wonder this game takes forever. Go ahead if you don't believe me, use the stopwatch on your phone and tap "lap" every time your money goes up.

my wood setup gives 809 wood, but i really miss a lot of crucial wood cards.
My iron setup has +0 wood/s and +2310 iron and could be improved a little with 2 more death knights. If your iron is only 1.1k, maybe you missed the fact that adjecent also works dioganally. I think ideal setup is: 4 hoods row 1, 4 death knights row 2, 1 iron mine, 2 hoods, 1 iron mine row 3, 1 spider king, 2 death knights, 1 spider king row 4

There should remain some motivation to improve the output of the first area when you are already in the second area (or even later). Maybe an option to buy some cards for a lot of gold.

If you are lucky you get the mining beast, which delivers 2 times more iron but consumes 4 times of wood.
That's the point where i am atm. I start to replace the hades through Noclops and mining beasts.

Here is my tactic for breaking the soft wall between Tier 1 and 2:
step 1) concentrate on getting wood as hell. At first build a chess board pattern with hatchets and Lil'Lumberjack.
step2) build 8x meat above 8x imps. They do the trick aslong you stay above 60k wood. Use the wood to level all Tier 1 things especially the non productive items to level 2 or 3.
Step 2) switch to iron only production. 1 imp with 1 meat should upkeep 4 or 5 Hades. surround them with gauntlets in a chess pattern and you will end up with about 540 iron per sec.
Step 3) buy only the Metal XL packs until you find the iron mine and some hoods, which will replace the gauntlets. build 6 Hades with 1 hood around the iron mine. Now you need no upkeep anymore. 2 pancakes above and 2 potions left so that they buff 3 Hades each.Fill the rest with gauntlets or hoods.

Iron is ridiculous. Bad enough you have to save for ages just for one card. But it's as likely to be a wood card as anything else. Too steep a curve.

Make it so that you can trade cards places on the board without removing them first. It's easy to forget which cards you had on the board once they leave and sometimes I just want to rotate two cards.

@Jatebe: arithmetic Fail. Try again and calculate the price per card in the different packs. 10/3 vs. 15/5. 3,33333 vs 3, 00 ?!

@JaTeBe
with 30k money
super pack -> gives you 9 cards
super pack + -> gives you 10 cards
i don't see how it's ''significantly better''

I really like this game. I can't wait for more content. Is there a place I can donate a few dollars for the effort you put into it?

As I already written in thw WIP version (I'm talking about haunted forrest): nerfing upgrades didn't help the tier 2 that much, as it effectively also nerfs tier 2, i think that making different cards upgrade in different ways would make things better, and maybe more interesting as well. The other option is drastically decreasing the tier 2 packs cost, as it can be hard to gain enough of them to do much upgrading. From the other things I woul really love to see some better way of upgrading (filter for upgradeable cards for example). Beyond that the game is very interesting and has a lot of potential, so I hope to see it succeed

production way too low on 3rd area. Unless tier 3 gives a major boost but at this rate will take like 30 years to get to tier 3 and a few millenium to get 10b of each resource to unlock next area
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
at t1 houtned forest i used 3x hades next to eachother and 1x investor imp in the bottom right corner. i think it gave 10 wood and 100 iron/second if i remember correctly

it would be nice if hovering over a card on a field would show the actual amount with all bonuses/penalties that the card gives
This is a great idea and is next in my roadmap of features to implement. EDIT: this is sort of in place now; it will color-code affected cards to let you know which ones are being affected by the hovered-over card. I'll think about ways to add specific bonus text to the cards in addition to that, if it would be useful.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
since by the time you have even 1 T2 forest card you already have plenty of inverstor imps, a card that produces 8 wood and 7 more if a shroom is in play is rather useless
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really nice art style, and nice concept of designing the board. The start is smooth, but the haunted woods is quite slow to progress. One suggestion: One additional sorting to show upgradeable cards at top and a filter to only show cards that are on the board could be nice. Still, a nice concept. Keep up the good work!

The jump from Tier 1 to Tier 2 in Haunted Woods is brutally balanced. Try it out, dev and let me know how long it takes or if there's more even more than one strategy.
Right now, it should take about 30 minutes at most with a good deck. I'm hearing that from a lot of people, though, so I'm strongly considering lowering it... the risk with lowering it too far, though, is that there comes a point where the better strategy becomes "use a mediocre deck and wait" instead of "buy T1 packs to get an optimal deck." What I mean is that if I reduce the cost by 1/3, there becomes a point where you say to yourself "a good deck would have a 10 minute wait, and a bad deck would have a 15 minute wait, so it's better to buy 5 packs to assemble a bad deck and wait, instead of 30 packs to get a good deck." My goal is to reward the player for having optimized decks, and atm it seems like having at least a little bit of idling time is the only way to ensure that. But I'm 100% open to suggestions for other solutions too if anyone has ideas for other options to achieve the same goal.

The text and image size reduction for the forest feels really bad. Please keep them at a normal scale like they were in the first area.

@Tola better setup is golems to the side and meteor at center then have Ice sword, mace, honey and sheep to up meteor. currently at 200.5/sec

Hey, I recognize these from Quest Cards-though I suspect he was using an open resource pack. I'm not sure what I'm testing, but I got to 134 gold per second with a meteor surrounded by production enhancers plus three windmills and a golem in the corners, all level one.

Please note: if you've been playing the WIP/preview version of the game, your saves *do* carry over. Just hit the Gear in the top-right corner of the game to open the export/import menu. Be aware that you'll need to be logged into Kongregate for it to work. If the import fails, ensure you're logged into the same account that you used for exporting.
This 1.0 release has three realms now. As with the WIP version, I'm going to continue actively developing this one, so please give all the balancing feedback you can. And the next expansion is planned for a couple of weeks from now.
