Hey, just wanted to say, I love this game, and think that while it's on the unforgiving end of things, that's not necessarily bad. This is also one of the most creative games I've seen on Kongregate. Yes, it's another rogue-like, but manages to really feel different than others, and more tactical than the majority of Steam roguelikes. The strategy is a lot deeper than I first thought, since my very first run I somehow stumbled into a really busted setup and just assumed everything was easy. I guess I just wanted to say that I love this game, and have spent hours arguing with my friend about the efficiency of different items. (I tend to build wide arrays of junk and upgrade card draw a ton, while they tend to max out one or two things and just use those.)

I'd buff all the characters if I was you, probably a lot of the equipments too, and some of the mecanics and implement some quality of life changes. For example, when you select a whole bunch of cards because you want to pay for freeze + lock on an equipment, the games uses all of the cards just to unfreeze, even if the total sum was enough to also unlock it.
According to the stats, it was a rough run. Nobody got past the world 1 boss. The Daily Runs are generated by RNG though, so don't expect to win them all. Sometimes it's just about getting farther than anyone else (e.g. ONE person reached 1-20): https://playsaurus.com/pqAnalytics/chart.php

The Titan feels way under powered. Every other class has something they can do to protect themselves (steal, cycle, stun, block, etc), but the Titan just takes the full brunt of whatever attacks the enemy can draw cards for leading to a swift death pretty much every time. Also, shock-wave is useless as a starting card because the Titan needs to be able to draw a lot more cards than you can get at the beginning of the game to use it. I would recommend changing it out for a card that has some kind of defensive application, or maybe give the titan a passive healing ability so he make use of his bigger HP max by actually recovering between fights... As is, it's really disheartening to finally unlock the final character just to find that it is the worst one in the game.
It's not the final character (we are adding more), and it's also not the worst. The stats are posted in the #strategy channel on Discord if you want to see. We add a hero roughly once a month, so there will be plenty more, and we do rebalance them from time to time.

This amplify thing should be optional. It doesn't feel fair, doesn't feel like it rewards skill or good decision making.

What happened to this game, it's so much harder. There isn't a single person alive that can consistently win a streak of 4 NORMAL or harder difficulty runs, I bet. I liked it more when it was winnable.
But that's what easy mode is there for, it is very consistently winnable for anyone who gets good enough. If you want something more challenging, play medium or hard. If you're asking us to make "Hard" easier, that isn't a good idea because what are the top players going to play? For more than a month now, the loading bar only partially fills before it gets stuck. I was really enjoying the game and would like to play again. Is there a fix for this, other than deleting all my cookies (and potentially losing saved progress in other games)?

Stun + Curse knight combos are op. Such as curse+stun/freeze+anything that works well with curse (withering strike+high damage equip, darksludge), darkfire if you have curse+enflame gear. lots of energy+curse combos allows for knights to take down a joker without taking any damage. Since the default knight shield of spade max block is 31 and first blacksmith upgrade does nothing, the shield is only useful early game + the rare low damage fights. The game rewards damage combos +penalizes players for relying on block defence (with the 1 turn cooldown). There are too many enemy abilities that punishes block equip like curse, poison, enflame, hex, charm, +draw abilities, multiplying explosive combo. I suggest making knight stun less effective/harder to use. The lightning joker that accumulated +36 draw/turn shouldn't get negated by a 4 energy ability.

Hahaha, I just assembled a hilarious nonbo - darksludge and darkblight from special sites; it does huge piles of increasing numbers, which never actually deal damage. Hilarious. it got to over 70 million poison before I died, ending the battle.

There are some optimization problems here. I'm running the current version of Chrome and can run Witcher 3 with maximized graphics without a problem... but this game runs at 5 FPS.

For the most part, i like it. But when i fight a slime that needs a 10 or higher to hit me and then proceeds to draw atleast 1 of those cards for 4 turns in a row i call BS -.-

Oh, the winning strat tho was the queen of spades modifier with the jack/queen draw 1 dagger for attack x2 by the end.

My first hard win!!! Finally! Did it with the knight. Got really lucky as far as encounter count in world 4. Got ambushed right before the last castle, but knocked it out. No food left, no gems left, 5 energy left tho. And I had two charges of speed potion, so the last boss wasn't tooooo scary. 7 equips, 7 cards drawn, had a reveal card and a cycle enemy cards, those were huge, but just a bunch of attacking cards, no poison, curse, hex, freeze, flame, just attacking. Screenshot the last screen, feel like i should frame it or something. Haha, Final Score 1170 and 26 perfect kills. Booyah!

Block feels really really useless. First, the values usually don't scale up very well, so enemies just start wrecking you through your blocks around World 3+, and second there's almost always a cooldown, so you can't even block every turn like the enemies do. Cards like cyclotron, bag of tricks, frost cannon, and haltblade are way way better for defense since they actually stop the enemy from attacking and can be used every turn. The Block cards just aren't worth buying.
Block is still worth getting, it's just more in line with other items in the game now. The goal is we don't want it to always the best thing to get. The game can still be won, but now it's trickier - you can't rely on block every run. A bug/balance issue i discovered - For enchantress one of the possible enchantments was that whenever you used that item it would cycle a random card. I put it on bag of tricks (I was playing mage) and it was able to indefinitely cycle. Pretty sure this wasn't intended.

Please move the confirm button for bag of tricks OFF the bag of tricks card. I accidentally double clicked the card, and it ate my 1 energy and immediately confirmed before I could select any cards to cycle, so it did literally nothing except eat my energy and disable itself

There is one way to sort of cheat...: if you close the tab before finishing any type of interaction (combar of buying stuff), you can always resume from the last node. This means items like that Time Scroll are technically useless. One can also re-try casinos as many times or re-do choices with Jester and so on, not to mention retrying until that little Chest is killed.
Do many here use this trick?

man, you went and made an amazing game and now i'm addicted. in all reality, amazing game, although i wished it saved my progress as far as leveling up goes, as when i swap laptops (as i'm in school) my leveling progress doesn't save. not that i mind playing everything over again.

I think that if a locked item is unlocked and used then locks up again, you should still be able to unlock it that turn but not use it. This would double as a mighty titan buff.

interestingly, i got 3 bugs in one run. 1st bug is small: i took a look at the map at the next enemy while in the shop, "tabbed" back in and bought some stuff and when i tried fighting the next enemy, the button was grayed out. Had to just reload page. 2nd bug almost ended the run, for whatever reason invuln potion just wasnt working either at all or just against lightning, cause i only ended up trying to use it against lightning frog and stormy joker. The 3rd bug saved my ass, cause against stormy joker he got to the point where he started drawing 24 cards every round, but I could tell the deck wasn't shuffled properly, because he was getting 4 2's, 4 3's, 4 4's, and so on, in spade, heart, diamond, clubs order, and i was getting whatever came after his hand in the same style. this persisted a few rounds till i killed him.

Prince enflame bug is a bit frustrating, hitting all equipment on screen instead of just designated one. Makes it unplayable

Some permanent bonuses/cards/equips will be appreciate! (like we can start a new run with the lvled up cards of past run, something like this)
