i personally think this page already has too many idle games. i would prefer an active game with upgrades. killing the villagers could be more and more automatic as the game goes no, cause dropping them into the pot gets old after a while. add powerful spells with longer cooldowns and boss waves instead. once you get defeated you can spend all life force gathered (incl. what you have spent) on permanent upgrades.

10. Having some humans carry "artifacts" that might have special effects
11. Allowing the summoning of monsters that will defend the castle & can be killed
12. Have a timer (each tick being 1 hour) in the corner will incentivize players to try speed runs
13. Achievements might be interesting
13.1. How high did your humans go. Maybe you need a little arrow that says how many meters up humans who get past the top of the screen are currently flying
13.2. # humans put in the couldron in 10 seconds
13.3. # humans killed by a single spell
13.4. Speed run time
Looking forward to seeing what you do with this!

2. Prestige is a must :) A placeholder for now could be great! Or just a simple restart
3. Creating a map where we can build huts in different parts of the land would be a fun way to extend this. Eventually allowing the creation of a witching university could be fun!
4. Some story telling as each upgrade is made might make this more captivating
5. A discord server where people can join the conversation might help!
6. Upgrades to manage each item and make it more powerful or faster
7. Decreasing the sound of the bear claw would be nice for my ears
8. Allowing the spell machine to caste a variety of spells that can be unlocked & upgraded could be interesting
9. Having different colored humans who have "special souls" that can unlock other kinds of "energy" that might be used on special spells

A few ideas to consider:
1. Re: Idle - yup idling is a great trend for games and brings people back without requiring intensive development work. So, I would vote yes for this. A few idle mechanics to consider:
1.1. Offline idling, I think the speed up options (i.e. being offline accrues the option to make the game go faster when I'm actively playing it) are generally more fun & better than having the game "do things" when we're offline.
1.2. Magic that automatically flings the villagers into the couldron
1.3. Allow some of the automagically thrown villagers to miss the couldron and continue walking towards the house to attack/raid it
1.4. If you have healthpoints/health bar to be managed. If the castle/house hp drops to 0, then maybe there's a delay when villagers stop attending until the house can be "rebuilt" or "self-healed"

Great start!! Excited to see what you ultimately come up with & curious about how much time this original development took you. I enjoy the concept & the art!
I recommend renaming the game with "alpha" or "prototype" in the title, e.g. "Witch Sacrifices (Alpha)".

I loved this game. it's relaxing. I agree with others , a mode where people can actually harm you would be awesome. Also , more content and upgrades would definitely be welcome :D 5/5 can't wait for more !

personnaly, I like doing it mannualy, not a fan of idle games, it don't feel like accomplishing anything, but this game feels like I'm doing something, keep up the good work!

Did not read the instructions. Panicked when the villagers came in thinking they would burn down my hut. Began frantically grabbing villagers and throwing them back off the screen. Finally read the instructions five minutes later, and felt stupid. Continued to toss villagers off the screen just because it was hilariously fun to watch them go flailing. 10/10

Fantastic start!! I would love to see more purchases. Ideas include: Hangman Tree-animated vines that ensnare and eat humans with a cooldown-upgrades increase the number of vines; Belfry Tower-upgrades spawn bats that occasionally swoop and swarm a human-vampire bats that are larger and kill twice as often-add harpies that pick up and deposit humans in your cauldron; Summoning Circle-summons a monstrous pet that charges the humans and loses a little health with each kill-monsters lose a little health with each kill and recharge on a timer-upgrades summon bigger monsters that have more health; Storm Clouds-Occasionally get a lightning bolt that kills a small area of humans-upgrades cause more frequent strikes. Lastly, consider adding a "Curiosity Meter" that increases over time but drops with each human that escapes. Upgrades that attract humans would increase the max size of the curiosity meter. This would make me want to make sure no one escaped.

Human sacrifice is wrong. it's bad, immoral, horrible, dastardly, terrible, inhumane, dark and totally not allowed. Currently at 5k souls and counting, WHY CAN'T I STOP!?

Played the game. The only problem with this version of the game I have is the bear trap making people walk back which made me regret that upgrade, other than that no complaints.
I hope this game gets updated on the IDLE narrative. Saw some comments on making the villagers able to fight and such but i think that goes to another genre of games. I see the villagers as money. In other games u click for coins but in this one, the villagers are the coins so making them able to fight wouldn't make much sense unless u can make it so they can fight and still be on the idle narrative but yeah idk.
I think this game is gonna need to scale outwards a bit more (zooming out) in order to make use of the potential progress of the game.

unlike others i would lke to just see t get crazier and crazier th more traps and effects going off.

Good concept, certainly plays in a similar vein to Gragyriss, would love to see it fleshed out more in the full version.

This is a very good game. It reminds me of this old game on mac from like 25 years ago called Despair. The graphics, tweens, mood on this one are really good. There's just so many nice details are going into it. maybe work on the soul catching sound. it's a bit harsh on zee ears. everything else great.

I love how the people who reincarnate from the bear trap decide they want to leave after all.... not that I'll let them of course. I also find it highly amusing when the same person reincarnates multiple times, only to die in the cauldron each time.

I love the smooth animation to this game, and the way the spirits look. If you're making a bigger version of this, I'd like to see more upgrades, and maybe like gargoyles. but I think a really cool place to take this is to unlock a coven that gives you different "areas"to swap to and your ultimate goal is to get enough souls to unleash a spoopy spell

Health bar on the witch hut, and an aggro meter - as you take humans it ups the aggro until a 'Mob' is released that you have to defend against... Maybe have children that add lots of soul and way more aggro? Occassional hero attacks? either way, i like the style - good job.

I rather enjoyed it. Would be nice if it had more "unfolding" qualities, say the deeper you get in have different types of humans coming through

Its a fun little time-waster, but defiantly needs some more content. More upgrades would be nice, and if there was an ending it would be awesome. Overall, pretty good, but needs a little more substance to it.

"Gragyriss, Captor of Princesses" comes to mind while playing, and it's a very good thing. I love Gragyriss, but sadly there are no game like it. Yours comes very close. Make it more like Gragyriss, but with your own, dark style. And please, no idle, only more strategy, more choices. So far very promising prototype :)

The concept is really funny. Adding more horrible traps would be cool, as maybe more spells, and an objective. Keep going like this !

I like this, I could see instead of trying to make it a large idle game on a single map beating map and moving on and having different upgrades on them with different foes to present new challenges. even multiple maps within the same area perhaps if the upgrades stayed this fast? I see a lot of potential here.

This game has one of the most interesting mechanics, honestly one of my favorite 5 minute games I've ever played. The graphics are unique and nice, the concept of it is amusing and rather fun, there's a lot you can do I hope to see your future projects!
