For those who are having trouble saving, try setting the memory flash saves to your computer to unlimited or whatever. Just this little pop-up from adobe that appears whenever I play, I had somehow set it to save 0 memory, which prevented me from saving.
And I don't know if I should try and farm for every rare drop in this game. 1% for a nightcap from fungoblins... 5% for earwax...

Er...problem here...after I beat the dragon I got sent to this house in the forest....I think...anywho, I follow the arrow to go out and a map pops up and half a second later disappears, and Im stuck in the same place. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

oh and btw, the new rection bar and other additions are really a great help, :D. I'm really quite suprised at how improved the game is... TALLY HO TO CHAPTER 2

Have you tried clicking on whatever kind of Close button or icon there is on the little grey thing in the middle of the screen? That thing is a control panel, rather than an image or anything, and you need to dismiss it before you can do anything else due to how Flash works, unfortunately.

I'm using a mac, and trying to get past the initial flash screen. I've tried hitting x to and clicking and nothing seems to work. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a glitch or am I missing something really obvious?

I love the revamp for the game interface and the new gauge for reactions in battles. My one complaint about the game: WHY CAN'T I SAVE?!

In the beginning when they're kids, when Deugan wakes Mardek up about the Fallen Star, Deugan seems to be in bed with Mardek after their conversation is over.

When you're asked to choose the amount of space that you want to use for the save file, if you click "Never Ask Again," it deletes your entire chat.kongregate.com folder. This is a warning for everyone, as it happened to me, and I don't want it to happen to anyone else...

When I played the old version of the Mardek series, I considered it to be by far the best flash based RPG i'd ever played. Now, I'm still fighting beasts with fantasy Mardek and Deugan and I am completely amazed at how much it improved. I didn't think it was possible to make things so much better, not on the Mardek series! Pseudolonewolf, you're my awesome. Seriously.

this remade version is so awesome! better menu graphics, awesomer battle scenes, epic battle menu, a reactino bar thingy, and it all gos so well together. probably the best RPG since pokemon, maybe even better! of course, im talking about the whole series of mardek. 50/10

I could not save my game. On the save screen I would hit x on the save file twice but no save file was created. Played the whole game agian for nothing.

may have found a glitch, dunno; when i save, i generally go to look at my map. but every time after i save i cant see any of the details on the map, only my position. This is only a minor inconvenience as i played the game on my old laptop a year or so ago, love chapter one, cant wait to start chapter 2 again:P still 5/5 even with the map glitch, may just be my laptop :/

The new Meriadoc music is amazing. I can't wait to hear the rest. This series has the best music I've seen in Flash hands down; and apparently it's only getting better.

I played this game a year or so ago on a different computer, decided to play it again to have that feeling of completion in chapter 2, and I just have to say...
THE UPDATES ARE EXCELLENT! I played this all with my PS3 controller and hardly ever had to use the mouse pad on my laptop! Also the reaction bar is so much better! I don't ever remember there being one!!! The first time I played this game I didn't figure out about the reaction until the forest(after the sidequest), I'm too dumb to understand the intro I guess, I had no idea what he was talking about. But the updates were well needed and are excellent. Menu navigation is superb and inventory item descriptions are put together much better. I don't think I knew about holding down S and E for different item descriptions! As this game was a 5/5 because it is a awesome flash RPG, it remains a 5/5. I hope the third one gets badges by the time I catch up to it! ^.^

i love what you did to the old game,the new spirtes,the minor things you added, and just all the little touches you did. i bet ill enjoy replaying this and chapter 2

i enjoyed mardek when it came out a lot and have been looking foward to part 3. I restarted playing part one to recap and get hold of the new features, but none of the keys are working. The characters keep moving in one direction. And 70% of the time the "Z" and "X" keys wont cancel or confirm. Any help please?

Just finished this chapter, and while I can't say I was impressed, or very amused, I accept that it was "round 1" of this little galactic battle. I'll continue at Chapter 2 and, hopefully, this will get significantly better. I played a bit of 2 before and had no idea what I was doing, because it had just come out, and now I think I'll have a better feel for it. Don't hate me for this, but 3/5. As a Chapter 1, it is alright, but given that it was given an entire qualification of "game" and badges, I can't go higher. I bet that the others will deserve a 5/5, however.

Okay if you have the newest flash player the save issue is fixed, and you can get the latest flash 10 on the game for free. Ty for the remake and final release of Mardek3! You are a genius in the maker of flash. this brings nostalgia from old final fantasy games, but this is new and btter than ever! I'm a big fan and keep up the good work. You are awesome.

Well it seems as one can not separate Items that have been stack (or so it seems) but other then that so far I find this updated version great as if not a little greater then the orginal

I think there may be a significant bug when you get to the end and try to load your save at the beginning of the next chapter... I'm working on fixing this now.
