In general, a lot of people seem to compliment the writing of the MARDEK series (either that or they ignore it entirely), but every so often someone comes along and tells me it's really bad and that I am clearly not A Writer. But it's bad compared to *what*? A professional quality novel by someone twice my age? Films? Television? Or other free Flash games and RPGs?
Also, I'm not A Writer, and nor would I want to be. I don't Write Properly using established conventions and techniques; I merely try to tell a story and have the characters speak as I imagine people might in their situations. Maybe the style is just not to your liking, person?
Though it's more probable that you're just one of those types who says the writing's bad to make yourself look good and "above it" and all that...
Your approach is wrong anyway; you should try to enjoy what's there instead of being annoyed at what's not.

Oh and one little improvement i might make is to have a potion that prevents random encounters, or have someone that can use that magic.

Some of your comments are almost as boring as the dialogue, zing. But seriously, its a descent game and I have always loved rpgs, but my x finger gets a little tired and the humor can only hold my attention for |-------| long. Because after all...I'm at work playing a flash game.

Jaboc, everything (the digital typeface, the dialogue, etc.) is all a play at old RPGs. The dialogue is SUPPOSED to sound like an old RPG with all the cliches, because, well, if you had played a lot of RPGs, it is funny.

This game is a complete package. The rpg humor is great and the reaction system is innovative. I know that it would mess with the starting point of chapter 3, but it would be really nice if you could add something like a "free mode" where we could go back and get the loot and badges we missed. I'm sure the fans would appreciate this while we eagerly wait for chapter 3. Again, great job psuedolonewolf.

To beat the World`s Saviours you need to get your heroes to level 7. It`s not as hard as it sounds!(monster encounters are rare...)
And don`t forget to buy the best stuff for your party...

You can't complain about the dialogue when mardek says "Well, I know *I'd* like to headbutt him in the crotch and spit in his hair"
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
man how are you guys raggin on this game..i've found it quite delightful so far..much in the snes style, and the offhand comments by the characters are quite hilarious..5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
nice rpg. decent graphics, ok story, and altogether a decent game. not to much depth tho...
@jaboc: of course he is not a writer! very few programmers are, get over it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This guy is definetly not a writer, nor should be. The storyline is *ok* at best, and the dialouge it terrible, and why the use of a digital typeface with a game like this. It just doesn't fit.

Um wow? You know the zombie locksmith dude? I lost to him and still got the key. And I didn't find that out until I'd spent 10 minutes trying to find him. >_<
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
is there anyway that I could load the 'end of chapter 2' file, coz i want them badges man, i completed al of the achievments but i can't load my 'end of chapter 2' file and i'm not gonna play the total game again -_-

Psuedo the music is straight down amazing everything in this game is amazing. In fact at the ending I got so into the game I started to cry. Only problem is that all the players lave you at the end and you cant go back and get the tribolyte keys and dfeat the zombie dragon.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If it was a zombie cyborg dragon then any of the dozen PhoenixDowns I had should have taken care of it. Also, I had about eight minutes left, which was plenty of time to fight it.
Ah well.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Umm, can anyone tell me why you fight dudes with 92 health and twice as much damage, when your in the first room how to survive ????

Ya kidnapped, I found out on accident that I can click x or enter (maybe a few other keys) to just loot all. I highly suggest everyone reading the ingame help section, there are more things in this game than you could possibly have guess right off the bat. I still think the whole mouse feature could be phased out like in actual rpgs, list of items, arrows keys to move up and down over the items which could then list what ability it teaches, etc., like FF9.

scratchy_seal:
there is a "loot all" button. When the looting screen appears there is a button called "Take All" which is selected by default - so you can just press X twice (once to "Take All", then a second time for "Done").
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
scratchy_seal you can still use the mouse to click through the menu. Also this game is great. loe some of the random stuff the npcs say

Now that I finally get into the game, at least the controlls were fixed from the last game, however I haven't found any reason to even have a mouse hand floating around. 3/5, slight improvement from the alst one.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Waaaay too much text, really dont understand why people love this game so much. Yes, it's relatively polished and ALOT of time went into making it which I appreciate and take into account. Some main fixes-
~Needs a loot all button
~Needs better controlls
~Needs less filler text
~Reaction system seems a bit iffy
Negative comments:
9 paragraphs of scroll text to start off? Once you get into the game, 2 minutes of reading more dialogue, walk down the stairs, another 2 minutes of dialogue, please just let me play the game.

This game is great! I give it a 5/5 easily. And how can you go through the whole game without reading any of it? If you want a fighting game with no plot, this isn't it because this game actually has a story.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game is very good, and the text is worthwhile to listen to especially the little jibes it has to typical RPG's. The graphics on the battlescreen are very good, and although the normal graphics aren't the best, i still like them. The only problem i have is that i have realized that by killing the bandit, i cant get the trilobyte key. Oh and the fact that ERROR appeared a few times instead of an actual character. Overall 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
love the comedy in this game...don't see why everyone is complaining about the text enjot it while it lasts^_^(do consider that the creator did work hard on it..so don't be so insulting and inconsiderate..)

*Hint*: if you have trouble beating Moric in Social Foxes body, or beating the Zombie Dragon, then try using a Phoenix Down on them.
Pseudo: for chapter 3 could you try to improve the speed the map draws at? I refer to it a lot to make sure I get all the chests, but it draws in one line at a time from top to bottom and it is quite slow in the bigger areas.

When is there ever a fire elemental fire that takes more damage from Fire spells than Water ones...?
(Also, you can disable the Victory thing from the options if your computer is slow.)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Great game.
For flaws, the Victory screen stays too long. And for a game overly concerned with Elements, half the time they work the opposite of how they should. Ie: A Fire spell doing more damage to a fire element monster then a water spell does.

Mardek is useful: talk to a zombie then ignore the zombie and have your other players attack Mardek for experience. When his health gets low Mardek can heal himself (or, if it's not needed, he can attack himself).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Think alot of work is needed if you plan to make another. Like why not have shared inventory?
Money is worthless, I can get every item without buying, by just opening chests. Although the items you do need cost like 300 a pop, and you get 15g a kill early on.
Also the random fight generator, is kinda wack. I can walk 50 steps and not get a fight, or I can walk 2 steps and get in 50 fights.
A solid 3/5 but make it better for another sequel. Also TO MUCH TEXT. My god FF7 didnt have this much text. I did not read a single word spoken.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What i dont understand is why mardek is so completley useless. The game is named after him why does he suck. other than that it a pretty average game with some small anoying flaws. the bigest is having to switch between the keyboard and the mouse, its anoying. 2/5

Cool bug, when you get a healing skill like remove taint just use it 20 times on someone under the skill section and you'll have it mastered
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The trilobite keys are not all in one place. Try looking in the dirtiest places you can think of...corpses, swamps, sewers, scum.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Does anyone know where the trilobyte cave is? The mines at that pier seemed the most obvious, but even with aqualung it didn't let me do anything.
