great game love the up date so i don't don't have to keep on using the mouse and arrow keys so much that it hurts my hands, best thing about the update is being able to talk to your allies gives more backgound to them and makes them feel alive keep the thing up even when you have 11 to 30 characters to pick from, cause your fans will love it, i miss Deugan already will he be back? any way used to be 4/5 but with the update 5/5

Appears to be a skip in the GdM battle/"last boss" fight music. Seems like when the track loops over, it doesn't transition smoothly.

Great game but one small observation,I hate having to constantly move my hand from the arrow keys to the mouse, I think a WASD control would be better.(am not sure if u can change the controls in-game),Otherwise FANTASTIC!.

@ Dimelow: You can review the plot you skipped by pressing 'L'. It only shows the last 20 dialogues, so you should press it as soon as you missed any plot. Otherwise I don't think there's any way to see them again.
@ elmarti315: They key you are looking for is dropped by zombies in Canonia, not Goznor.

agaopwns, what kinda asshole leaps at the opportunity to defend the honor of a game which, in my defense, I didn't mean to insult. I made it past the fight using phoenix down, feels like I should've been able to win with regular combat, and the AP and skill system is still a mystery to me, but I figured out that in order for Verhm to use his smite evil ability he needs a sword equipped. I was genuinely confused about the game, genuinely asking for help. With no instructions, it's to be expected that some people don't get some parts of the game. Since you seem to love the game, I assume you can explain it to me. So, could you please give me an explanation? I really, really love the dialogue and plot of this game, if I can figure out the gameplay I can write a real review. If I can't figure it out, then, stupid or not, I'm gonna write a bad review. I really hope there is more that I don't understand, 'cause if not the game is lacking.

this game is a masterpiece. it is awesome. it is fun. it is the best game i've played in my life so far (but MARDEK 3 might beat it). Sure, you have to figure out the menus and skills by yourself. but....... still. you should be able to figure it out for yourself and not go and cry about this game saying, oh, i don't get it!!!! waahwaahwaah!!! seriously...

I really have trouble with this game, I have no idea why it is that I can't kill the undead warrior boss. He just one shots everyone, I don't understand if there are upgrades or not, if so, how do they work? I've spent all day fighting teeming hordes of invincible monsters, braving comically impossible dungeons where my only choice is to flee from every fight until I reach the end. Vehrn's holy smite ability (or whatever-it's-called) hasn't worked since the first dungeon I did with him. I can always appreciate a well-made rpg but this one seems to be more about figuring out where to go and groaning every time I get interrupted by a group of random creatures. Not gonna rate this game until I can find a reason why it's good/bad. Just need a clear, understandable explanation of how to upgrade characters.

it is a great game 5/5 definately, the only struggle I have is that sometimes it does not register me pressing buttons but im sure thats just something to do with my computer:) its rubbish at gaming.
Anyways i know ive mentioned this on various sites but do you have any videos of the dialougue scenes seperate from the game for people who accidentaly skipped them. because once youve passed them and left the game there seems to be no way of reviewing them. This isn't a complaint btw its just a request :) nothing wrong with the game at all as far as im concerned FANTASTIC, nice composing aswell using better composing software than me as sibelious always seems to have glitches within it.
Overall Amazing game and love the secret blacked out passages.

here is something i just found out, if you have a item that gives you a skill and master it, you can remove the item, give it to someone else to master the skill, and you will still have the skill. not shure if anyone knew that but you knever know....

Dangit I only used 1 save game. And I saved in the ship. Before going to social fox's tomb and before going to cambria and through the trilobite cave. I wish there was a way to get the characters back because doing this with only mardek is nearly impossible.

what I like about this game - and the series in general - is that you can just TELL how much effort was put into it. Sure, it's not groundbreaking, the basic plot isn't too original, and elements of it have been taken from other games, but together everything works and not only that, they work very well. And while the story itself isn't exactly original, which isn't surprising considering it's supposed to be a sort of parody, the dialogue is fantastic and definitely some of the best writing I've seen in a flash game. Honestly, probably one of if not the best free flash games/series. 5/5

If any one has problems with moving on or finding hidden chests I would suggest using your map it shows all chest and hidden passageways in the catacombs it has a clue remember the bob's map shop sign it is a hint to use your map.

You can view the statistics of any enemy in battle just click on their name above the battlefield, same stands for your own characters. ;)

For SorcererofDM: entry #54 in the bestiary is the ghoul; it only appears during the first battle with Moric in the catacombs and only if he summons them. It's random between them and undead soldiers (entry #55). Don't know if there is a 3rd type of undead he summons but those are the only two that only appear in that fight.

i was just on my to kill the undead dragon when i had an encounter and pressed the left arrow when emela was about to cast a spell and... HEY look at that i target everything now :p
i hope i'm the only that notices this so late XD and there i was waiting for an AoE spell, dumbass me :p

i think you should be able to access the encyclopedia during battle so you can make a battle strategy, its really hard to remember the weakness of every enemy aside from the standard fire air earth water thing

I absolutely love this game! The gameplay is excellent. In my opinion, it's the best online RPG out there. I also love the humor of it, I love talking to the townspeople!

Finally defeated the Zombie Dragon (again). It was much harder this time around, because Phoenix Downs don't do as much damage as they did before the shiny new versions. I just spammed Zach's Crescendo Slash (the one that does more damage each time you use it) and used shield/magic shield on everyone.

The amazing thing about Pseudolonewolf is that he takes games as inspiration, "steals" ideas from them, *coughcoughPheonixDownIsFromFinalFantasycoughcough* then he twists the game ideas in his own way (adding breeding and other stuff to Pokemon to make Beast Signer and adding humor, reactions, and other features to Final Fantasy to make MARDEK). He is currently my favorite game designer, although I'm not into the Raider series, I like that his creativity and intelligence shines through in his games.

Ok I love these games. I think they're brilliant but what I don't understand is why don't they have a single inventory? :s It's just a bit of a hassle lol. Sure I might give a few potions / phoenix downs *cough* to other party members but Mardek holds everything else.

argh ... the middle and most important (maybe) part of my comment is gone... what i suggested was that the map could be opened through pressing M on the keyboard since opening it via the menu seems a little bit intricate to me...
