I'm hooked on this series! When I was younger, I was a big fan of the gameboy pokemon games, particularly silver and red, but then I got older, they added a ridiculous amount of new pokemon (robots nintendo, really?!?), and there was no new fun to be found. And then Mardek RPG comes along, very nostalgic, yet refreshing, and always fun. I've never found the need to repeatedly train my heroes, the enemies progress at a perfect rate, and the real key to success in this game is a good strategy. Perfect game, 5/5. keep em coming pseudolonewolf!

This game always feels slow to me. Advancement (especially early on) seems overly slow. I feel like my people move painfully slow and don't respond well. I feel like I have to hammer my keys or push them repeatedly because I never have the timing right with the game's cues to accept input. I wish that I could get the speech text to flip screens faster. That all said, I do enjoy the text (and accompanying character faces) a bunch. The overall slowness is killer, though. I feel like playing is a chore to get to the neat stuff. 3/5

Ic ant paly this game. whenever I get into a battle at the forest after you kill the water ahg, I go to emelas attack page and one of 2 things happens: The keys lag so much that it makes it immposible to have a thoughtful move, 2) it stops completely, and acts as if its frozen, even though things are moving.

I just found this out by accident, but for the other people who don't know, if you want to hit multiple targets with a spell just use the left or right arrows when you're in targeting mode... by the way, you use the same amount of magic points times the amount enemies targeted.... keep it alive.

Lol. I didn't find out that how you could use the physical/magical defense reactions until I finished the game and was working on beating the arena and Zombie Dragon.

I was only 13 when the first Mardek chapter came out, and I loved it back then, so I was SUPER surprised to see the third chapter finally come out! I just finished playing through this chapter, and I absolutely love what you have done. I'm now on to play chapter 3, and i just hope you don't keep us waiting this long again for chapter 4 :P

This is an awesome game of a kind that I didn't think anyone made anymore. The first chapter was decent enough for a flash game, but the second is on a different level. There exist AAA games that are shorter (and less entertaining) than this.

What an amazing game. I remember trying to play through this before the update and getting lost in the catacombs, ignorantly unable to find the secret passage. Now, playing it in its entirety, I see what a great job has been done on this, especially with the new updates. A delightful throwback to the 8-bit world of old, mixed with the colorful battle scenes, this is a gem. Oh, and I found the last trilobite key after the first zombie killed in Canonia. Nice luck, eh?

The end was touching. There are 2 morals (I hate marals too, but oh well) to this story. The first is that there is nothing more valuble than a true friend. the second is pseudolonewolf makes great games!

i love this game a lot and even this game of which is made well freezes rarely probably less now that they updated it and for those of u that say freezing issues are the computer's fault it might be but in most cases it is not if u just come out and say it is someone's even with a reason u are most likely making someone very angry at u other than that i like the reaction system it's a lot of fun graphics storyline all that so 5/5 for this game

@ TheUltimaton: There is no level requirement to learn skills. Mardek cannot learn smite. The only reason that those abilities are in that weapon is because later you can get a paladin in your group, who uses the same type of weapon as mardek and can learn both smite+ and smite evil.

just beat this game for the 2nd time (now on to chapter 3). but its a fantastic game, one of the best on kong, i believe. 5/5 easily from me. everything is great about this game, from the simplicity, down to even the winning pose :). now on to chapter 3!

@geega-I couldn't beat the four bandits either, then I beat the first one again, and used the save file. It was much easier.

one of the best games I have ever played. but can you please upgrade it from the little Zelda thing you got going on? I mean I walk slowly (can you add a running button)and also the graphics(except during battle) are pretty bad, but theygive youthat awesome "old-time"game play feeling. please make more, but with slightly better graphics and a running button. it would be greatly appreciated.5/5

What a wonderful game. The updates to this masterpiece have pushed it farther than I could have imagined. The leveling and pace of the game is perfect, and the difficulty has been modified just right. The new skills menu is beautifully done, and is a joy to play with. I cannot put this game unto higher esteem, at least until I play Mardek 3.

This game is a piece of art that ranks higher than the mona lisa! The inter-game save feature is a great Idea that many games should institute. This simple yet exilerating series may influece consle gaming, and has more parts than both narnia and harry potter! The discriptions and context are funny, and many things can be anticipated without seeing the whole game, or series, ahead of time. Also, the aspect that effects influence and battle, elements, and the si-fi twist, make this game most enjoyable. I believe that this gripping game may give the early, and possibly recent, final fantasy games a run for their money. (Though the later ones have much better graphics, obviously, but who cares?) Also, I wonder who firequill is? That baffles me, the fact that it is just stated the creator likes her. Anyways, I'll wrap this up, I've been rambling again. This is an insane game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MARDEK FTW!!!

I've played this game several times, but never before have I gotten past the Saviors. It feels so awesome to beat them. X3

Amazing game. I especially love the fact that it is a parody of old rpgs, but it still holds true to the battle system and actually has a plot. Very Impressive.5/5

3/5 its a great game with funny dialog but wat i see this as is just another game where you walk around trying to do something then a monster pops out of nowhere plus its turn based so its mostly luck and strategy

i hate the fact that if you kill gope you're screwed, i only found out 4 hours in and it nearly killed this game for me. but i continued on for the ending badge and the zombie dragon badge, don't think i'll ever play this game again, shame really i quite liked it before i found that out.
atleast there could've been a warning that some items in the game are missable no matter if it was a simple potion or a plot item.
still i rate it 5/5 as the game itself is very good.

great game, deserves 5/5!
one thing that annoys me is that i am still grinding those single zombies in canonia for the trilobite key and they dont give it to me. someone said it has a 10percent dropchance, any tips/clues for me.

" If we need a key to get there, how can the undead get past there freely?" LOL!!! i love when u make fun of RPG physics issues man, 5/5 as always

So I just re-played this after beating Mardek 3, and wow, this seems easy now. I did a anally completionist (getting every single treasure chest possible, every bestiary entry, every side quest/ secret, etc) run through of chapter 1 and this in just under 6 hours. Still fun as heck, but wow.

Im gonna rate this bad cause its GOD DAMN NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE! And everyone is saying"oh this is great, wonderful" and idk why because after the bandit chief uses his potion he bloody doesnt die! the reactions are a good idea but i press the button and 2 seconds later it stops. The reactions barley DO anything anyway. The story is good but the learning curve is too bloody steep, like being thrown into deep water and told how to swim. Plus, the button placement was awkward because i kept pressing the start menu button and missing my reactions (Not that they make much of a difference). I usually love RPG games but this is not the best out there.
