A tip for people looking to transfer their saves over to Mardek 3... Make sure to transfer all allies' items to either Mardek or to Item Storage before making your "End of Chapter 2" save. You won't get the opportunity to get those precious equipments and potential skills back at the start of Chapter 3 (if at all). Also, you don't have to worry about stripping your characters before the "final scene," since you'll be able to access item storage and everyone's inventory at the end screen, including characters no longer in your party. I hope this helps anyone's concerns about moving their saves to the next chapter.

A little secret that you might not notice in a typical playthrough: If you talk to Gallovar after saving Goznor from the zombies, he'll give you a yalortian amulet, which can teach your paladin friend green lightning. Figured I should mention it because none of the top comments do and neither does the walkthrough.

A fast paced TbT RPG adventuring game. It has a deep, perplexing storyline filled with twists, suspicions, sadness, and laughter. A epic series, to say the least. It will keep you on the edge of your seat till' the end. A good time waster, i have been playing for 2 hours straight just now. Filled with imagination, monsters, weapons, spells, and many things to keep you occupied such as dungeon hunting or exploring and even shopping, it's filled to the brim with everything a RPG lover could want.

This game might as well be one of the best Flash RPGs one may see on the Internet. The mix of old, SNES-like graphics and refined, tasteful artwork at the battle scenes is great; the gameplay very straightforward and gives a slight twist to the RPG genre; the inter-chapter save feature amazing (I've never seen such a feature before, and I think only the developer/s of this game have done it!) and innovative, and the dialogue and story just plain fun, and very amusing at times. Very fun game, engaging and very much worth your time! 5/5

C'mon guys, you know Steele isn't really dead. You know the rules: if they don't vibrate rapidly while turning red and fading away, they didn't really die.

SPOILER: 1st key: in Social Fox's Tomb (after killing Moric the first time return where he was and there'll be the entrance to Social Fox's Tomb) ; 2nd key: in a hidden chest in Tainted Grotto L2, just south of where you defeated the Saviors ; 3rd key: 10% chance to be dropped by the zombies in Canonia (if you have killed all of them but didn't get it, leave Canonia then return) ; 4th key: given by Gope in the Goznor inn if you had spared him at the Gem Mine keep this comment alive! SPECIAL SWORD Defeat the dragon and take "Burial Sword" in Social Fox Tomb. Keep this going.

It's funny how people mostly ignore the fact that pseudo updated all the games so that none of them will feel obsolete because of the new game. Something many game designers choose not to do making playing their game less repeatable after playing a better sequel because they feel like the graphics or gameplay become worse.

@Pseudolonewolf
You may not see this but I might as well say it anyway, this is the best flash game I have ever seen in my life.
It has great (and hilarious) dialogue and a great and deep storyline, lets summarize it all: it's a masterpiece.
I hope to see more from you and don't keep us in suspense, we're addicted.
Thank you.

A note to those who may not be aware: Mardek's "Heal" will damage the zombies. (Good attention to detail in your programming there, Pseudolonewolf.)

fridge brilliance: Steele HAD to get burnt up in the cave. There's only room for 5 people to walk side by side between the pillars! If he were still around for the ceremony, why, how would that look? UNPROFESSIONAL, THAT'S WHAT

Upgrading your characters is simply a matter of finding a wearable piece of gear with a skill on it. When highlighting gear you can tab left/right with the arrow keys. The middle tab shows what skills the gear has. Equip the piece, and then go to the skill menu. Tab through the skill types till you find your new skill and equip it with the x button. You can use these equipped skills as long as you have the associated piece of gear. However, by mastering the skill you get to keep it for good. You train the skills by either using them (spell types) or successfully fulfilling s certain react condition. For attack skills you need to get a successful react with a normal attack, defense react while getting hit, magic defense react while getting hit with magic etc... Hope that helps.

If you're going to give the game a low score, give reasons why.
Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to get a comment simply saying "1/5" for no reason?!
How would you feel if you made a game and got comments like that?
When commenting, imagine yourself as the person *receiving* the comment, and think "how would I feel about getting a comment like this on something that I made?"
(I know I should just ignore the haters and everything, but it's sort of hard since they just don't seem to get that games are actually made by real people... And they're hurting the game's score.)

Listen, King. I know you intended well when you told me to explore the castle all I wanted... BUT YOU LOCKED ALL THE DOORS.

Somehow I got the idea that I could use Holy Water on the Shaman and un-zombify her it would have been funny if it had worked

This game is amazing I love it, it combines so many different aspects of different games I love so much such as the AP system, Zombie Dragon, and of course it has the old style feel to it. Still I was very disappointed when the zombies attacked Canonia I couldn't get to the guard guy there since I forgot the reward I lost some money I could have gained. I also noticed one small detail I am unaware of if anyone else noticed but the wannabe hero leader looks a little bit like Mardek in Fantasy land of MARDEK RPG Chapter 1?

About the temple in Lake Qur. Remember when you were in the lake, Deugan found an other way and wanted to explore, but Emelia didn't let the party go that way. Here's how to get around that. Before your battle with Moric in the catacombs, have Emelia cast Aqualung on Mardek from the menu. After the battle and some plot, you should be in the castle. Alone. And you are supposed to go to sleep. Don't do that. Check the menu. The Aqualung should still be there. Now you can go to the lake, go underwater too, and there's no Emelia to stop you. (Only activating a save cristal or drinking remedy cancels Aqualung.)
The 'Water' will comment on how clever it was that you set up Aqualung like that, but insists that there really are no temples worth exploring down there.
Somebody put a comment here about this when i first played the game, but it is nowhere to be found now, so i thought i re-comment it.

You would think that after playing through all 3 chapters and doing everything, that I would have noticed BEFORE my second run-through that you get MORE XP when you finish off a mob with a skill than you do with a regular attack... /stops regular attacking so much

That lovely moment when you realise you can heal everyone in the party, or attack all enemies, by using the right and left arrows respectively. Makes crowd control SO much easier...

just in case no one ever said it, if you go to the guard captain in canonia after you find the shaman, he will give you 1000 generic gold coins

The jokes make this game what it is. I love this game. By far the best flash RPG out there at the moment. Currently playing my way through them, so I hope 4 out is before I finish 3! Could you possibly add a volume control? That would be great.

The reason why people rated this one star was this game was so epic it made their eyes go blind making them accidentally clicking one star when they ment to click 5/5 stars. Tsk.

To all the undying fans of Mardek: this is it people, Pseudolonewolf is finally considering making the next opus, and wants your opinion. So if you're still looking forward to Mardek 4+, then massively post your responses to his message following the thread below: https://tamingmind.com//227
