I really like this series, but, on Mardek 3, when I try to save in Xantusia, at the Inn, after I get the Chief in my party. It sais the file is from another chapter and says everything is 'undefined' (It does show the level correctly though). I tried changing the Adobe Flash Player settings to unlimited and tried it but it still didn't work. Is this because I am using IE6? I'm going to try another save point to see what happens.

This is not a Final Fantasy ripoff! This is a humorous parody of final fantasy and a deep and serious game that follow its footsteps. In some ways, this game is better than the final fantasy games. MARDEK takes that genre that FF has created and adds something new to it. The battle system is clever and builds upon the simple turn base system with reactions. The storyline certainly does not fall below the story lines of the FF series. It has a deep and mysterious plot and well built characters to support it. The music of MARDEK clearly represents the humorous and saddening themes in the game. AND the most amazing part?...This was made by one person..and its still a GREAT game. You are dearly mistaken if you say this is a cheap Final Fantasy ripoff.

1/5... And if you wanna know why, here you go. Why the F*** would you put every "secret" in a way that if I play without reading the walkthrough at the same time, I cannot get to any of the 2 secret bosses, nor the Cambria Arena, that has no sense at all, I won't spend 2 or 3 more days playing it through all over again, at least at other RPG's like Zelda, you can find everything after you finish the game without having to replay it entirely, this is nonsense...

The water Temple is maddening, and the walkthrough only tells you what to do if you follow it from the start, I tried on my own and now the switches are out of wack so the instructions "Flip the switch" are meaningless since I cant remember what they originally were.
Overall, AMAZING tho

is it just me, or are there MANY clues to suggest that the mystery man, when first seen, is steele?
First of all, his look, people can recognize how steele's face looked like(with or without an eyepatch). also, the dreamstone after he left tells us he knows Emela and was THE SUBJECT of her thunderbolt... only steele has been hit (apparently) in the eye. of course, some people will tell me to shut up because ANYONE can figure it out, but i'm just saying :D

I have but on problem with this game, and it is the same problem I've had with your whole series, I hate having to desperately track down a crystal just to save my game and quit. Everything else about this game is perfectly perfect. And even though I hate the saving options, it's not necessarily a bug or a problem with the game, merely a feature of it, therefore I grant Thee a 5/5.

Can't decide whether to play now or not... I would have killed the pirate guy and missed the Cambrian cave without the badges in part 2... so I think I'll wait for badges for part 3.
Sure it's great, can't wait to play it.

Gah. Sandflow Caves really needs to let you Warp to the Sun Temple or something. The place is huge, and it's a pain to walk all the way back to a save point. Especially since the passages in this game are always made very very long with all the snaky, curving, zig-zag paths.

I think the game is excellent. I'm very impressed with the skill system the balance and the play. Unfortunately, I find myself currently stuck in the water temple. I tried to figure out the puzzle and even turned to the guide in my desperation. Even following the guides specific instructions I am unable to flip the moonstone switch as the platforms described in the guide simply do not appear. While, this might be a bug, It is more likely a mistake on my part. If anyone knows how to fix this situation any help would be appreciated

This is so reminescent of other RPGs... Yes, it does sound like FF at moments (but not as in rip-off, but more as in... "Oh that sounds like FF" :/, meanwhile, if I didn't put that parenthesis, I'd be scared of being attacke by haters O_o). But not only FF, but also Earthbound. Hell yeah. Except Mardek's humor is more psychological than that of Mother. But the Dreamworld... It's Moonside. It's the first thing I thought. And the volcano level. But seriously, it's not like we see millions of these kinds in games at all anyway. And Mario RPG too... But not chrono trigger for some reasons. Heh. (Oh, and the game is awesome and I've already said all that before).

I've uploaded an update that should allow you to get the chalices if you missed them (monsters are rarer rather than gone completely), and I've also hopefully fixed the bug where pixies or fairies used their status gas attack repeatedly when they should only have used it once.

I cannot believe developers work so hard on these games just for idiots' comments to destroy it all. There is always a game before that is like yours; would Final Fantasy be considered a rip-off of Zelda? No. This is a genre. You cannot do this to people. I am a developer, as well, (although not in Flash, but Java, and I will never live up to Pseudolonewolf's awesomeness) and I know how he feels. Why should RPGs be prejudiced like this? Why isn't BTD prejudiced as a rip-off? It's a TD game, and there's millions of those too. I think it's just unfair.

great game. awesome series. i had played chapters 1 and 2 and was waiting for this.
one suggestion though can u combine them together so that it can be played all at once.
that would be cool and u could even keep the chapters for those that want to play it that way.
good job.

The Mardek series is one of the best series of RPG's on the internet I've had the pleasure of finding and playing. I've just started and I'm already hooked, can't wait to beat this one like the past two. Actually being able to see the reaction time as a bar is a welcome feature to me. It also seems like you've had fun making this game and the last two, putting all kinds of funny remarks and making fun of steryotypes. Next to the gameplay, that is my favorite part of the game. It almost seems as if you're doing this simply to screw around, I adore games that look like that, they have such an awsome element of both fun and sometimes difficulty, like this one. Excellent games Pseudowolf, I cannot wait to beat this chapter and the next one, if and when it comes out :)!

This is one brilliant game. I love the witty descriptions and the story is great (although i never fully played 1 and 2 :/) The only thing that bothers me is the selling of your stuff. Its a real drag to place them by hand in the shopkeepers inventory just to sell them. Or am i missing a really easy sell button? xD Anyway 7/5

The game is awesome. Too bad I missed the Chalice like a lot of people. Maybe make the Chalice able to get it even though you beat the temple.

ok this is my first comment here on kongregate and i want to say THANK YOU Pseudolonewolf for this awesome masterpiece. Never seen such a great flash game before. Yes it contains some little bugs. So what!? I don't care because it is truly a great game. So thank you!

I don't know how to use the dream circles... nor do i understand why you have a last chance to get the missal chalice thing, when you get no monster battles your 2nd time through, but definitely above and beyond my expectations. Do wish the ingredient lists weren't so varied. 5/5

Hey, I have collected all but two dream stones.
all but one chalice...
Anyways, I decided I'd beat the dark boss before getting the miasmal chalice, for the experience, then come back and beat 100 and collect the chalice. Only problem is it takes me out of the temple after I beat mystery man. I didn't want that, so now I can't have a perfect game.
It says "if you leave the temple" it doesn't say "if you beat mystery man"
So yeah, basically I don't see why monsters disapear after mystery man is gone, I didn't leave the temple, and now I can't take it to the miasmal citadel, fight the final trilobite, go to the tournament, and collect the final dream stone.

If this game does not knock Cursed treasure off the top by the time Mardek 4 is released, I will dump my Wii in a full sink. No joke.

Great game. Good amount of parody, complex plotline (though Mardek seems to have gotten dumber regarding the Water Temple guardian). Glad I played through the first two games, because I have a pretty good idea who the mystery "bolt-struck" man is, and even the "straw-colored haired" Lone Wolf, even though I've not even gotten close to any kind of reveal.

With lizard person if you use fire breath on a party member it looks like the fire is coming out the backs of their head

There is a slight problem with the pixies in the lifewood forest. I just went up against one that would just spam addle gas non-stop. Thing with that is that my Mardek absorbs light damage, so after a while, all my party members were ko'd except mardek, which led to an infinite loop of mardek hitting himself and healing. I think there should either be some sort of limit to how often the pixie can use addle gas or give it some sort of artificial cooldown, or make it so you can't attack yourself when confused.

Wow, finally completed the game. Note: Qualna can be cursed, and if so, he can't use any of his skills. Is this intentional?

love how you made the game pseudo, loved to see some of the talking the monks did in the start and the descriptions for items and objects. Also like the "secret" things in the game. Took a while to get into it tho because the talking and battling can take some time, but once you get through that its very fun!
