As soon as I started to play this game I felt like I was a Royal Guard myself. Thank you Pseudolonewolf for making the best games i have ever seen as soon as I saw this game was done I felt like I would die on a scale 1 to 10 I give it a big 100 million stars. keep up the good work! P.S:are you planning on making a MARDEK RPG CHAPTER 4?

Well surely this has been stated, but i am once again goin to expose the fatal flaw here. It's a WONDERFUL game! the mechanics, the satire, the animation, flawless. However, I have a very personal issue with the recruitment of all of these new characters. Why are they SO drastically under leveled by the time you attain them? I suppose i am a little OCD about it, but it will take me hours to powerlevel them to to the same level (lvl 20 being the mark, the level of the 2 spear mages + Slen'ck upon exiting the temple of darkness). This is is espoecially annoying when you attain a lvl 9(Elwyn). Even The characters at the VERY BEGINNING are higher than that. Regardless, I intend to do the grinding. It just seems a simple fix to read the lowest level character's variable and make it match, ya know?

I LOVE these games that pseudo makes!!! especially this series. infinite/5 for me. however, i thought that this one was amazing, but something feels missing without Deugan...

This game may seem similar in several ways to Final Fantasy, but this game is one of THE best games on Kongregate in my opinion. The combat may seem difficult at some times and at some points you will have trouble but overall this game is a amazing game. The graphics are great, the ideas are creative, and everything about it shows that this game deserves 5/5 stars from every single player. Those haters out there need to learn what a real good game is like and they should learn how much time and effort goes into creating something as amazing as this.

A suggestion that I REALLY think would help with the interface: Battle usable items should be kept per character. That's fine. It's presumably why you have a per-character system to begin with. But equipment and other items should be communal. Changing equipment, moving equipment between characters, swapping equipment out when you change parties, tracking which equipment skills a character still has to learn, and managing item forging components: all of these things are made somewhat obnoxious by the per-character item system. The game is awesome overall, but I see this as a lingering flaw that should be addressed in a future update.

Red means you can't avoid battle by pressing Z, and that the enemy is generally your level or higher yes. Blue indicates a probably weaker enemy, but more importantly that pressing Z quickly enough will avoid the battle.

pseudolonewolf this is one of the best games ive ever played and it is a very important part of the mardek story because you see another one of those aliens that are trying to find and kill rohoph. i think the mystery man was steele and that he was left uncouncious in chapter 2. i dont believe the people who say that its a final fantasy ripoff because its really very different.pseudolonewolf you should make many more mardek games because they will be one of the top series of games in the world keep doing a good job.

i really like how you put a golden warport pass that would let you through the security checkpoint without having to do those questions and fighting the security demons

@shadykun: Red battle starts means the foe is stronger than you (i.e level 15s versus level 17s)
Blue battles mean the foe is weaker than you.

i think mystery man was the guy who died in the beginning of chapter two after they had a battle with the chief bandit.what was his name again?

This is fantastic overall. I have only one real complaint (the Happy Johnny's 1000 Needles attack is absurdly, cheaply powerful given how plentiful they are in the desert - that kind of one-shot kill attack seems more like something a dying boss monster would deploy), which given the scope of this game is high praise. Love the parodies of SNES-era RPGs in the dialogue. This is the kind of game I would buy once it's completed.

For people saying this is a final fantasy rip off, he already said it was a parody. As for anyone making note that the ability learning system is taken right out of FF9 specifically... they have a point.
One of the things I loved about rpgs like final fantasy is that every game had its own battle system. This game has its tweaks though, like lvling in the middle of a battle, which I love.
I think the only thing this game is missing, is some kind of limit or overdrive system. A rage meter that fills or something. Even games like lufia had something like that to set them apart from the mix.
Definitely a good flash, but the haters have a point. I like this game a lot, and I feel like it is only a step or two from being pure genius.
Keep up the good work! And never stop being creative. This is an art, and you are an artist.

Whops! The game crashed.. Well, I had just saved anyway.. Woah! What an awesome game! I just realized I haven't eaten for a looooong time.. I liked this better then the first two, especially the second one was a bit of a downer for me. But this, this is awesome! The starting party is really awesome now : )

Suggestion for the maps: When moving from one section to another of the same place it becomes annoying that you can only see a map of your current sector, does mardek suddenly remeber the map when he enters the area and forget when he leaves? it would be extreamly helpful if you could access the maps of previous sectors, especially for the large areas such as life/dreamwood and aeropolis.

i agree with thecakeisalie if only people would actully play the game befor they judged it and its not a final fantasy rip-off ive played all the series of this game and final fantasy and i find nothing the same exept but it being a turn-based rpg but theres millionsof those and im glad that some people are going back to the original setup

This game is pretty well made and has a very cool history.. i also see the inspiration of Final Fantasy in it.. but unlike many other haters.. i think it makes the game even more awesome! Its like they always say "If its a Winning team then don't change it!" 5/5 Grats

Hurr hurr, damage caps at 9999. Beserked Mardek with champion sword against dark elemental monster + vigorous march= breaking damage cap.

Just beat Animus without using a single item. :D
Trick is to equip a turquoise on everyone and drop his spirit using Gloria's whirlpool skill. Spam thermal spanner with Meraeador to drop defense and continue to whack with Mardeck. Just watch out for ion storm as it can drop Gloria's heals from 2000+ to under 200. If your having trouble, make a couple of Sorcerers Brews using Gloria's cauldron or just but a bunch of fig juices.
Best of luck, was rather easy actually.

Banker: Maybe you don't? And it's because she's playing music, so the game recommends she just wait to continue the music's effects.
Arxalix: That's why they have only like, 150hp..Easy to 1hit right off the bat..

For Aether-50%, the description says "Daetherark." Not sure if it's a bug, but might want to fix it. Not a big deal, I'm still addicted.

Although it requires some luck, to kill the security demon, use a noxious bomb on it. If confuse status is inflicted then hopefully it will cast death on itself and die, thus you win! Elwyen jumped from level 9 to 14! Same tactic can be applied to demon bones (think that's the name).

This is one of my all time favorite flash game series. To everyone who says it rips off games, well no duh? It's a parody of many rpgs and that's what makes it original. It is one of the best games I have ever played, I find that it's better than some retail games. Good work, keep it up, I can't wait for more of your excellent work.

There are way to many enemies resistant to psychical dmg. Either fix that or make it easier to get elemental weapons. Like: sword+air esscence=air sword or axe+dark esscence=dark axe etc...

Wow, I can honestly see this on something like xbox live arcade, and even then as possibly the best game there. Easily the best flash game (and series) I've ever played 5/5

Need some help: can anyone tell me where I can find enemy nr.61? I've been all over the Sun Temple and I can't find it. Since I'm trying for 100% completion, and as soon as you finish the sun temple quest monsters don't seem to appear anymore, I'm stuck on that 8(
