Ladders/vines/etc. do not work for me. I've tried changing the key to climb them, but he just stands at the bottom, or whizzes right by them, and will never latch on.

(Oh, and Intermediate is unlocked at the start too for those saying they wanted a 'challenge'... Which of course means loads of people whose pride is greater than their skill will start on that and complain that the game is too hard. I really can't win...)

I made some changes... HOLDING UP now allows you to grab ladders when jumping, though I really don't think that's the best way to do things. Also, a BIG, STUPIDLY CLEAR warning comes up with the fix for the lag, which I bet people will STILL ignore!

Love your games too. Always loads of fun, though the raider games are pretty hard. But nothing wrong with a challenge :)

I am now working on making it so that holding UP will make you grab ladders, so then people complain about THAT instead or something!

The only thing I dont like is the fact you have to let go of "UP" when jumping to & from latters, then once you start holding shift to it gets kinda annoying, I for some reason cant do it very easy

Also, the main reason you don't just grab ladders when you come into contact with them is because a) I've never played a game that does that before, and b) you have more CONTROL over grabbing ladders this way. It's possible to drop down a ladder and then only grab it at the bottom rather than climbing all the way down it, but if you auto-grabbed, that would be more difficult or maybe impossible. I am really feeling quite despaired that people can't just try to get used to the controls... Does every other game you play have IDENTICAL CONTROLS? Ugh... I also wish that people would realise that I personally am on the receiving end of these comments, so I really wish that people would offer constructive criticism rather than just the idiotic dismissive comments that many are leaving...

An overwhelming majority of these comments are tormenting to me as the developer... People complain about the most trivial of things and call my hard work crap for their own ineptitude or lack of patience or INABILITY TO READ THE UPDATES SECTION, and I just WISH that they could be on the receiving end of their own disgusting, non-constructive comments to see how they'd feel.

Anyway, 3/5 from me. Loved Mardek, do not like this. The level design is completely uninspired, there's that only-A-menu-control thing, simply is not at all fun, etc. It only gets 3/5 because clearly a lot of effort was put into it, the graphics, the music, the cutscenes, etc. Just, in practice, it doesn't work.

@hoolio: Yes, it is A. Thus, when using WASD, I still press A, meaning that I am in effect pressing left whenever I advance dialogue (or any non-mouse menu).

I'm annoyed how nearly everyone here is blatantly ignoring it. Crying "lag" when the problem can be fixed by just reading what is in the description is silly. My comment wasn't aimed at you, but, the Kongregate community who seem to have trouble reading.

Yeah. For all the people out there saying it's too laggy, read the damn Updates section. As for the game itself, I have yet to complete it but it seems too long for a platforming RPG, even for one with multiple episodes. Personally I like Pseudo's Mardek line much better (It's better than some console games I've played). Unless he plans on tying in Raider with Mardek I'm not seeing this series going much anywhere :(. 4/5 just because I'm that nice.

Protip pt deux: I should NOT have to tap UP again to attach to another ladder. I should be able to hold it (I.E. In ladder jumping I should be able to hold up while jumping and automatically reattach on the next one)

As for the game, I love it, new traps, new enemies. Short jumps aren't that hard, move down to the end of the ladder, then just tap A then press UP.

Protip: If you allow customizable controls, then either allow customizable "continue dialogue" controls or just match it the whatever jump is. Using WASD, I apparently have to press left every time I want to continue the dialogue.

The way that you have to restart so many times has always annoyed me about platformers. When the jumps have to be so exact (lest you suffer the entire level again) having to complete 400 short jumps without one failure over the course of three levels kinda gets to you.

theres no lag... u just look at the updates section above! Tutorial is very hard, usually theyre easy so u can get used to the controls. and level 1 was very hard too and its only on begginer mode. the short ladder jumps are just annoying i think. they dont seem to add anything to it. 3/5
